Gamebreaker
I kinda think the State is going to drop the case and let Adnan go free. They got embrassed in the Appeals for a new trial. And it's obvious their entire case was weak to begin with, and they have no new evidence to help support them in a new trial. Adnan is going to go free and sue the hell out of the State of Maryland. The Evil Genius
I don't know. I just read that shortly after the Undisclosed podcast, Adnan asked for the 2 hairs (and material under her fingernails) on Hae Min Lee's body not to be tested for DNA. Some are saying that it was from advice of his lawyer, but it looks bad from a casual observer's view. Perhaps they are saving for a hail mary in case the new trial doesn't get set..but still. Seems odd.
Gamebreaker
I heard the opposite. I heard he did want it tested. Where did you hear he didn't?
The Evil Genius
I heard the opposite. I heard he did want it tested. Where did you hear he didn't? At the end of the Serial podcast we are told (by Adnan) that he wanted it tested. However, he changed his mind according to Deidre Wright of the UVA School of Law Innocence Project. You can read about it a bit (if you can parse through the crap on this reddit thread --> https://www.reddit.com/r/serialpodcast/comments/3zmfci/dierdre_dna_update/ and this one too https://www.reddit.com/r/serialpodcast/comments/3rcld5/did_the_innocence_project_manage_to_get_the_dna/

I don't see the jump in logic that Adnan refused the testing since Rabia says she isn't involved in it, and Justin is heading that up.There are some real kooks on reddit who've been making stuff up, with no evidence and talk like they have facts. Kilmer17
Anyone else still following this? Back to court Thursday. This is the hearing for the States appeal of the judges ruling LAST JUNE! that overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial. The state appealed in JANUARY. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/bs-md-syed-hearing-date-20170605-story.html It's a travesty that he's been in jail this long, but for the last year he's been there after a Judge ruled to overturn his conviction. Terrible.

Terrible. I'm still following it. The Judge ruled to give him a new trial, but denied him the ability to stand trial at home. I think the Undisclosed podcast stated the Judge used the same rationale given back when Adnan was 17 and wasn't given bail. But they proved the documentation was incorrectly filed out by the Prosecution, showing him to be older than what he was, and making it easier for the judge to deny bail. They also used some race baiting BS about Adnan being a flight risk of going to Pakistan, despite him never visiting there and living his entire life in Baltimore.
