Capt. Kaos
I'm doing research on the "out of towner" donator options... Quick question... The average "fee" for donations sites (Gofundme, Fundly, Youcaring, etc...) is right around 8% + .30 per donation. Paypal is a flat 2.9% + .30 per donation. I used gofundme last year to collect a little over $1,000 for Chief Zee and it was pretty simple, I'm just trying to find a way to get more money in the bucket. With those numbers in mind, would you be less inclined to donate through paypal, even though more of your donation would make it to the bucket? Or would I be better off using a donation site, less money ends up in the bucket but you'd be able to see a running total. If we use Paypal I will most definitely post running totals at least weekly. I still need to do some research and if any of you have any ideas, suggestions, or personal experience I would be very open to hearing it. Thanks! SoulSkin
I'd like to donate to whatever charity is selected and have no issue with using Paypal. That would actually be my preferred method.

skinfan2k
If you send money using the Friends and Family option in Paypal, no fees exist.

I will be sure to make it a priority to make it known in the thread when I set that up. Thank You!
Mania
I think it is important to know what percentage of the donated funds go to research, as many of these charities the majority of the donated funds go to paying salaries.
