Toe Jam
Many of you may remember my first fight with a MRSA infection three years ago. Took me out of work for three weeks and cost me a fortune in medical bills. Three days ago I noticed a flare up on a toe located on my other foot. Yesterday it was confirmed I have another MRSA infection. This one has managed to exceed the first infection in regards to pain, size, and depth of the infection. I'm going to see a specialist tomorrow. I haven't made a thread referencing my personal life in almost two years but I really could use prayers right now. I don't know why this keeps happening but I've had enough. Seriously. Thanks.
polywog999
I am really sorry to hear about this. There is nothing like a problem that just won't go away. Take care of yourself, bud! :helmet:
The 12th Commandment
Really sorry, and your namesake toe at that? Don't mean to make light of it and I really hope they get it under control asap.
LD0506
Once can happen to anyone, twice and you have to start wondering if there's something more to it. Maybe there is some vector in your environment exposing you to it? I would have to at least ask if there's anything I might do to lessen the risk of recurrence. Nasty **** there, hope they knock it out fast.
gbear
We've been through what the doc described as probable MRSA in our house with both of our kids getting the very painful bumbs which grow in size. We've all, as in everybody in the family, done the nose goo twice a day for 6 weeks after it was first detected. What a pain. I'm sorry you are going through it. I did find one doctors rational behind the nose goo interesting. MRSA evidently typically resides in the nose, and we all touch our noses a lot. So even if it is elsewhere, by putting it in the nose we are effectively spreading the good where it needs to go. I guess even those who don't pick their nose touch it a lot. The 12th Commandment
Maybe this is an option lol, and take away one of life's simple pleasures? What's more satisfying than properly loosing that block of concrete (at least out here where it's dry, I don't remember my NOVA boogers) and shredding a tissue with it's expulsion? I'll add, if dogs laugh mine sure would if I came home from the doctor's with one those things.
China
Risk factors for CA-MRSA -Participating in contact sports. MRSA can spread easily through cuts and abrasions and skin-to-skin contact. -Living in crowded or unsanitary conditions. Outbreaks of MRSA have occurred in military training camps, child care centers and jails. -Men having sex with men. Homosexual men have a higher risk of developing MRSA infections. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mrsa/DS00735/DSECTION=risk-factors
Boss_Hogg
I've had MRSA, I picked it up from the crowded or unsanitary conditions element. The Doc simply cut out the infected tissue from of my leg. Hope you get better,
