#98QBKiller
I wish ESPN would STFU. The article from the Post gives context to what he's saying, ESPN's article cherry picks the parts that will get reader reactions. Garbage journalism move on ESPN. PortisBetts
As long as he plays like last week the rest of this season, we should be able to get some decent return for him in the offseason.

I think this team will try to keep him actually, if he keeps performing like he did against Chicago, then you have to keep him and let him be the DE in the 3-4 scheme
WesB
If he continues to produce; why not keep him? We paid for him already, might as well get part of our investment back. I'll root for him if plays like he did last week consistently!
Dick Edds
Like someone mentioned earlier, he doesn't have the desire or work ethic to be the greatest. It's a shame what money can do to a person ... at the end of the day he is still never going to concede and he does not want to be a part of this team in the future. he realizes he needs to be a good teammate/player from here on out if he hopes to land somewhere else in the off-season. If we can't get any suitable trade offers, then I don't mind him finishing out the next 2 years as a DT in nickel packages, it's not my money. And he can go down as the highest paid 3rd down specialist ever. In 2 years he will not be the same player, at least not for an extended period of time. he COULD be a beast if he wants to, that's the disappointing part, he could still be a pro-bowler in this scheme if he really wanted to. he may be the most physically talented and gifted DT in the league right now, but he is mentally one of the weakest players in the league. And you know what ... it is all on his doing, he's made his own bed ... and his pride/ego is too big that he can;t admit his own mistakes and that he did not live up to his contract. he could have left the money on the table and gone somewhere else ... but he chose ti get paid. I certainly prefer him out there dominating OL'man ... I'd be surprised if he didn't get moved in the off-season. I want players that want to be Redskins. GSF
So I can be the greatest lineman ever, just don't play me in the 3-4??? i thought there were linemen in the 3-4. basically this little ***** is taking his one good game all year and trying to turn the defense into a 4-3. STFU and play Read the whole thing before you slam him: Haynesworth said he and coaches began to discuss changing his role just a couple of weeks into the regular season. Both sides seemed to agree that Haynesworth wasn't contributing as much as anyone would like in the 3-4 base. Asked whether he minds that seven weeks into the season, he's still not starting, Haynesworth said: "I'm not good enough to play the 3-4. We got a guy in front of me who could play the 3-4 better than I can. So whatever helps the team."
Ryman of the North
AH is a huge man and a player who has amazing physical ability for someone his size, however his skillset is simply not that of a 3-4 lineman. I dont know whats so hard for people to understand, the truth is that the demands of a lineman in a 3-4 are vastly different than that of a 4-3 3 tech tackle. some players can make the switch, others cant. its more based on how they do what they do. for instance, Alberts strength is moving forward not laterally, he is far better when playing the run on the way to the QB, his best moves are a Bullrush and and a rip to swim move that he uses with a sweet spin move, none of which are the stack and shed type moves of a 3-4 lineman. when playing two gap he gets too far upfield and sometimes gets sealed off. whats annoying about this is that we have several players who are far better suited to a 4-3 yet somehow we have been expected to buy in to the switch to a defence that we are far from suited for. MusicCitySkin
I'm just glad that Shanahan and Haynesworth don't read into this nonsense. Albert even said they chuckle about these media explosions. It's silly.

CrypticVillain
Good article by Reid, which is hard for me to say it's good to hear Haynesworth admit he's not the best fit for the 3-4 but he's trying to make things work Here's Reid's article............... By Rick Maese | October 28, 2010; 11:48 AM ET I knew Reid didn't right this article. If he had written it, he would have the same twist on it as ESPN and FoxSports. Duckus
ESPN changed the title. It now actually reflects what the article is about. That was a horrendous hatchet job by ESPN.
Est.1974
I think this is proving that Shanahan & AH are finally finding some middle ground and have established the best way to utilise his skills within our schemes. That represents great progress. Also, it is worth noting that Shanahan has said numerous times that our DL players are only expected to be in on ~30 plays per game anyway. That's the way we are game planning. The way I see it, AH will easily get this amount of reps even whilst being left our of some of our schemes. So, he gets to go full out in the situations he feels he is best suited to. The results of that can be seen in the Bears game. That sounds alright to me. nemocystem
ESPN.......where moulding reality happens for more proof...just see their whole "wait, no...we didn't intend to help ruin LeBron's image...please like LeBron....he's really a stand-up guy & a great player. see...look at why you're wrong to hate him" campaign. illone
His play speaks for itself lately. One thing that is interesting is that if the Skins only put him in on Nickel Defense, is it safe to assume the Skins were running nickel defense on the Goalline last week? redskins55
Man Albert.. I know there was nothing wrong with the comments, but clearly he is set on just being a nickle package performer here with those comments. I just wish he gave more effort in being the best instead of settling for what makes him comfortable. He'll never be the best at what he does by insisting that he can only do it in a specific type of defense. Jim Swartz wont be his D-Coordinator forever so he's got to grow up and be a true football player. Reggie White played Nose Tackle Defensive Tackle, and Defensive End. Bruce Smith played D-End in a 4-3 and 3-4. Lawrence Taylor played D-End, and OLB Orakpo played OLB in the 4-3 last year and OLB in the 3-4 this year. <-- This is why he will be great!
