Christopher Cross was actually a casualty of MTV if memory serves me correctly. He was the poster boy for "video killed the radio star." As for Dan Hartman, it was just a few years ago that I found out that he song "I can dream about you."

Do The Cars fall into this category? I liked a lot of their stuff. The videos look really cheesy these days, but much of the music holds up over time.
