Well, I hope he comes back, healthy, focused, and hungry.

At least long enough to pass Riggins, anyway.

That way, big John will be able to remain relevant, and in the news, and stay employed.

The best thing that could happen to Riggo, is an unsuccessful, Portis-led team, still under the spell of the evil DarkHeart Dan, and his sidekick Vinny The Moocher. And that's exactly what Riggin's is praying for. Because, unlike Portis, he cares so much for this team and it's fans.

Absolute, 100% fail.

Lines first. Everything else later.

Average rbs can look great behind a good line. Rock, Ganther.

Great rbs can look like crap behind a bad one.

Disagree 100%. First, there are only two OT's worthy of a first round pick this year. Second, we don't need a second tier RB. Rock and Ganther are doing their job but no opposing defense is worried about our running game. OL can be found in later rounds or maybe not even in the draft, remember Jacoby? The problem is: who is scouting? This discussion is probably moot anyway because our FO is looking for their knight in shining armor, a QB.

Top 10 rushers in the NFL-

Chris Johnson- 1st round, 24th pick

Steven Jackson- 1st round, 24th pick

Adrian Peterson- 1st round (7th pick)

Maurice Jones-Drew- 2nd round (28th pick)

Thomas Jones- 1st round (7th pick) (but he's been cut by 3 other teams)

Deangelo Williams- 1st round (27th pick)

Cedric Benson- 1st round (4th pick) (also cut by the team that drafted him)

Ryan Grant- Undrafted

Rashard Mendenhall- 1st round (23rd pick)

Ray Rice- 2nd round (24th pick)

Of the guys listed, only Peterson was a top 10 draft pick (which is obviously where the skins will be drafting) that's working out for the team that drafted him. If you want to look at a list of the RB's selected in the top 10 that HAVEN'T worked out, that list is mostly misses rather than big hits:

- McFadden hasn't been able to beat out Fargas to win the clear majority of carries in Oakland.

- Reggie Bush- nuff said

- Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams have had very shaky careers, though both have been marred by injury and Ronnie Brown seems to have found his niche in the wildcat

Is there really an elite rusher to be taken as highly in this year's class as the Redskins will pick? Is CJ Spiller really worth a top 10 pick? Jehvid Best?

I just don't agree with the reasoning here. At all.

Thats a fact! Timmy Smith holds the Super Bowl rushing record because of the Hogs he ran behind that day. Any RB who ran that day would have owned that record. Even Barry Sanders had 16 yard rushing games when his offensive line couldn't block for him.
