dlwredskins
I'm a two year season seat holder and I'm thinking of giving up my seats... this is not "the on-field product sucks and why am I giving these losers my money". I'm a Redskins fan until I leave this earth (well if they ever change their name or leave Washington we have a problem...HAHAHA) I live in LA, I go to two games a year sell the rest and give away preseason.(last year went to only one) and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it. Well as we all know most of the time it's next to impossible to get tickets at face value especially the Cowboys game. That was part of the reason I got season seats, plus first pick at playoffs (obviously pay face value) should we ever get a playoff home game ever again. So knowing invoices will be coming out soon, do I give them up? Do I pay through the nose for the games I attend and just lose my seats? I know some of you would say just come to the stadium and buy them on game day, but remember I'm not a local and if the Redskins get really good I don't want to have to succum to scalper prices and obviously I'd need a game ticket because I can't fly all the way cross-country just to eventually not go to the game.... Would love to get everyone's thoughts....thanks and HAIL REDSKINS! Oh and I'm not rich or own my own business where the tickets are a business expense... HigSkin
All good questions but I expect more tickets to be available next year. You might find it even harder to sell them. If the problem is money, you're in a boat with a bizzillion other people who probably can't afford them either. Fortunately for me, my family helps out on 5 LL tickets, otherwise I'd be turning them in.
kubstix
Your best option is to just find the games you want to go to on here? I've gotten many division rivalry games at Face Value. They're are people here who are scum and try to sell there tickets 50% more than face per ticket and there are also great guys on here who sell for face and cover taxes. Spending money on season tickets is going to be a disaster this year with the economy and the fact that alot of people just really don't want to go to Danny's stadium anymore. Mark The Homer
I am not sure what I'm going to do this year. Oh, I'm definitely going to the games. No worries there. And it's not really the amount of money. That doesn't bother me. And it's not the product on the field. It's not the game day experience either, or the cost of concessions. The hardest part for me is the timing. It's difficult for me to come up with all that money by March 30th. Especially when I know darned well I could wait - and it would likely not cost me anything in the long run by getting tix from other sources later in the calendar year. Stew
Yep, this season was my last as a season ticket holder. (I went to nearly all the home games this year including the Giants game in th cold rain) With the money Im not spending on tix I bought a new Big screen 46'' Sony. i forget if its the V or Z series, I think the difference being the contrast ratio.... Ill see when I get home because now its bugging me. I need to see a more defined direction and a change in FO decision making before i pony up for tickets to a game again, let alone season tickets. When I go I always like to get some merchandise as well as food and drink. Ive learned to eat and drink a lot before I go in, stash a drink inside my foam finger and lift it over my head when getting frisked at the front gate, and then anything over what I planned to spend on food comes out of my merchandise money. It limits the overall damage from my bank account, and it paces me as far as beers go. 8 dollars for one beer is incredible. However, I do have a problem with the direction the FO is taking this team and the only thing I can do to get my voice heard is to silently protest by not paying for season tickets. I may pay for a home game or two next year, but Im not shelling out the lump some for all the home games. I wasn't going to buy a jersey this season either, but ended up grabbing a Horton Jersey. SHDW01
don't renew the tickets....if you go to a game or two next season, just pick some up (albeit for a slight premium).....not worth the headache to try and sell/give away all the other weeks. just my opinoion....BOL either way
Cooley4President
I'm going into my fourth year as a ticket holder, and each year I've debated renewing them at this time of the year. Sure enough it only lasted a little while and I was ready to CTC* as Rasheed Wallace would say when the invoice came. *- cut the check
Rdskn4Lyf21
I'm an unemployed college student and it's hard knowing I'm going to have to come up with another $1,500 in a few months. Somehow I find it worth it....
MikeB
Give em up... save the money (or spend it on something else) and watch the games from the comfort of your couch -- get the entertainment for free like the rest of us. :2cents:
Thirtyfive2seven
I'd HATE to tell you 'give up your tickets' because if the Skins suddenly find the winning solution you are going to be kicking yourself for years. However, that doesn't seem likely. Additionally, the seats aren't that great. The cost of the plane ticket coupled with the declining economy is going to make getting rid of tickets even MORE difficult next season. Throw in the fact that the skins SUCK right now (ok mediocre at best) and you've got a tough sell. Yes you can always offload tickets as I'm sure you figured out over the 2 seasons now but to me it just doesn't seem worth it from LA... You can find tickets are the game at face value. I've done it plenty of times. You can find a nice member on here that isn't interested in turning a huge profit. You can always just buy tickets for ONE game online. If it were me, knowing only MY current situation I would sell.
BAFGA
I don't want to be in the group that says, "Snyder sucks, don't give him any money". I also don't want to be in the group that says, "Keep your tickets and support the team". I feel I fall somewhere in the middle. Just the sheer number of tickets available on the secondary market makes owning season tickets not much of a badge of honor anymore. If I know I can get tickets to the select few games I attend, why buy tickets for all of them? Therefore I'm leaning towards advising you to dump them. motorhead
Lucky for me I only live hour and a half from Fed Ex. I know if I lived in La. I would sell my tickets. You can always find tickets at the game or stub hub etc.
SkinzBoi85
Yea Like most of the thread says. Sell them jokers man. I came across sec.101 row 2 tickets TWO DAYS before the Giants game. Sec 105 row 15 for the Cowgirls about a week before. so next season it's really gonna be easier to get tix to specific games.
Mursilis
Let me see if I have this right: You live on the other side of the country, and only go to 1-2 games/year, yet you have season tickets so when (and if!) the 'skins get good (maybe even have a home playoff game, which has happened oh so frequently in the Snyder era!) and tickets are actually selling for more than face value, you'll already have a set? Does that sound right? And you're wondering if you should continue this practice?
