portis&taylor
Miami - Chris Long If the dolphins dont trade down I see them landing Long who is a text book Parcells player. St. Louis - Glenn Dorsey St. Louis needs help on both sides of the line so between Dorsey and Jake Long they take the better of the two. Atlanta - Jake Long Atlanta's line is weak and new back Micheal Turner wont be able to do anything unless they begin to rebuild it. Oakland - Darren McFadden To much of a talent for Davis to pass on. With all the addition of D.Hall and the resigning of Tommy Kelly I dont see them going defense in the draft also. Kansas City - Ryan Clady The Chiefs will be this years Cardinals and reach on an o-lineman but with there terrible o-line drafting anything else on offense would be useless. N.Y.Jets - Vernon Gholston The drafts second best player fall to the Jets. New England - Leodis McKelvin The Cheaters get the top corner in the draft to replace Asante Samuel. Baltimore - Matt Ryan - The Ravens have needed a Franchise Quarterback since they moved from cleveland. They might finally have there man. Cincinnati - Derek Harvey Between Phillip Merling and Derek Harvey I see the Bengals taking the end with more pass rushing talent. New Orleans - Mike Jenkins the saints have upgraded both there linebacking core and the corners but both spots still have a need and to me corner is still more of a need. Buffalo - Malcolm Kelly Denver - Sedrick Ellis Carolina - Kenny Phillips Chicago - Brian Brohm Detroit - Keith Rivers Arizona - Rashard Mendenhall Minnesota - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Houston - Jonathan Stewart Philadelphia - Limus Sweed Tampa Bay - Devin Thomas Washington - Phillip Merling With all the top big recievers gone we need to go with a Defensive End. Merling is the best left and is a very solid end with run stopping being his forte. Dallas - DeSean Jackson Pittsburgh - Brandon Albert Tennessee - Chris Williams I know they need a reciever but not alot of talented ones left. Seattle - Dustin Keller Jacksonville - Trevor Laws San Diego - Brandon Flowers Dallas - Antoine Cason San Francisco - Early doucet once thought to be the top receiver doucet dive bombs low because of injury-plagued season. Green Bay - Gosder Cherilus perfect fit for the packers who could use a versatille lineman. N.Y. Giants - Dan Connor Redskins Draft 1. Phillip Merling DE 6-5 270 Clemson 2. Adarius Bowman WR 6-2 220 Oklahoma State 3. Duane Brown 6-4 314 Virginia Tech 3. Zachary Bowman CB 6-0 196 Nebraska 5. Gary Guyton OLB 6-1 240 Georgia Tech 6. Jeremy Zuttah OG 6-3 299 Rutgers 7. Kenneth Moore WR 5-11 198 Wake Forest

HoyaSkins28
dont think so. merling wont last this long and there will be more receivers on the board by the time the skins are up.

Mackdaddydean
That's a pretty bleak outlook if thats our draft. Limas or Malcom in the first and Lawrence Jackson in the second. A big guard in the 3rd and maybe even try to pick up a value pick in Colt Brennan if he's available in the 3rd. Of course thats assuming we have 2 3rd rounders. skinzzfan25
Bowman in the second? Big reach IMO. He'll be around in the 4th or 5th. He has character concerns and lacks the separation to beat a man press in the NFL. Combine that with a bad 40 time and a knack for dropping balls.... I'd wait till at LEAST the third to even look at him. EDIT: However, I do like the Zuttah pick.

36HAMMER
no thanks on this draft, nice try though. granted you or me have no say in what really happens.merling is good de, but our need for a oline make over is far more desperate than the dline. and i believe we can get a good de in the third rd.or who knows, we make a trade for one useing picks from next year.just no more wr picks in the 1st rd please. TheREALJBird
I think Bowman is projected in like the 4th or 5th(Adarius that is). I'd love to pick up Zack Bowman, not sure where he's projected
LoudMouth12thMan
Why would we need a run stopping End? Name a championship caliber team with a "run stopping" End? You get a guy that has size and speed. Stopping the run is the Tackles job and your Backers find the runner and fill gaps/lanes. We need an End that has size and can rush the passer...something we've lacked for quite a while. I love Carter, but we need someone else to compliment him that can demand attention and doubles on the opposite side. A "run stopping" specialist is essentially a younger Philip Daniels, and we don't need another 21-22 year old version of Philip Daniels. We need a stud End that can rush the passer. :2cents:
[[ghost]]
Branden Albert >>>> Phillip Merling. But there was a lot of time put into that mock, so at least you did your research.
NewCliche21
So I'm an idiot and didn't look at your handle before reading the subject line, so when I read "Portis&Taylor's Mock", I was about to throw a fit thinking it was an article mocking Portis and Taylor. Anyway, I really want Albert after all the things that I've heard about him.
brunell
this Bowman guy seems like a not-as-hyped Dwayne Jarrett... which is not good.
Chump Bailey
Not bad P&T - Adarius's value is all over the place it seems 2nd to 5th. Bowman may drop because of surgeries on both knees.
Rob Mexico
I just wish the draft was here already so we could know for sure what our future is. HAIL!
turbodiesel26
My mock, and I am only going round 1 and 2 because after that, who knows what will be left to pick from. In round one, I think the OP is more accurate than most think. I think there will be a run on Left Tackles, which in turn will lead to some teams possibly reaching in round one, because a guy they have valued as a second rounder is suddenly at the top of their board. This leads to a domino effect of having a receiver that some teams didn't think would be there, or the original player they wanted is off the board. So, I see Philly stepping up and grabbing Sweed before us, so I think that we then go DE in round one. If Merling is still available, we will grab him, if not, it will be Campbell. In round two, we take James Hardy. He is like a xerox of Plaxico Burress. He is not worthy of a first round pick, but if he is sitting there in round two, we grab him. In round three, I think we start the whole, grab the best player available. If Joe Flacco starts to slide, and I don't see it happening, and he is sitting there when we pick in the third, we have to take him.
artmonkforHOF
I'd love to see us get Merling in the first. Now, Portis&Taylor, email your mock draft to the NFl and make sure the other 31 teams stick with who you ahve picked for them and we'll be alright. EDIT: If you do send the mock to the NFL and they DO listen to you, Send Merling to Miami @ #1 and we'll take Chris Long at 21.

Brennan is lucky if he's a fifth round pick. We also aren't a good enough team to be drafting for "value" in the third round at a position we have a lot invested in already. Gotta go with the need, especially if the NFL does gift us with an extra 3rd rounder.
thedoc4454
With the possible exception that Derrick Harvey is there at pick 21 I think we’d be much better off trading down. Atlanta seems to be heading towards picking a D lineman wit their first pick, and if either Brian Brohm or Joe Fallco fall to us at 21 they’d probably be willing to part with two of their 2d rounders. I’m sure they’ll be aware that Miami and Baltimore would both be very interested, especially in Brohm. That being the case I’d like to see the Redskins pull the trigger and draft: 2d round - Trevor Laws, DT - Notre Dame ( penetrating pass rusher in the middle of the line. Also Monster strong ) 2d round - Antoine Cason, CB - Arizona ( Can do it all. Good coverage skills, supports the run ) 2d round - Jordy Nelson, WR - Kansas St. ( Highly under rated. Best hands in country. Great size and quickness. Will not be there for out 3d round pick ) 3d round - Mike McGlynn. OG/OT - Pittsburgh ( Big, Nasty, mean - what’s not to like? ) 3d round - Brian Johnston, DE - Gardner Webb ( Best workout number of any linemen in the draft. Huge, fast, strong, dominating. This kids going to be a star. Also take him now or someone else will in the 4th round, and then we can watch him make 10 + sacks a year for someone else ) 5th round - Andrew Crummy, OG/C - Maryland ( He’s hurt or he’d have gone higher. Versatile, and he won’t have to drive far to get to Redskins Park. ) 6th round - Craig Stevens, TE/FB -California ( perfect size 6’3” 255 lbs. Fast - 4.59, tough, strong, great blocker, good receiver. ) 7th round - Caleb Campbell, SS - Army ( big 6’2”, strong 24 reps, fast 4.5 very smart ) 7th round - Corey Clark, OT - Texas A&M ( has all the tools to be a starter, just needs someone to light a fire under him. Maybe they could let him room with McGlynn ) Now, there are always players that fall several rounds or even out of the draft and we should be ready to pounce on these. So here is a small list of player that may be available after the draft that I would like to see on our team Matt Flynn, QB - LSU Chauncey Washington, RB - USC Anthony Alridge, RB - Houston Marcus Monk, WR - Arkansas Amarri Jackson, WR - South Florida David Hall, OT - Weber State Shannon Tevaga, OG - UCLA Robert Felton, OG - Arkansas Adam Kraus, OG - Michigan Andrew Bain, OG - Miami Drew Miller, C - Florida Bo Rudd, LB - Nebraska Curtis Johnson, LB - Clark Atlanta J Leman, MLB - Illinois Pig Brown, S - Missouri ( I really don’t know anything about this guy, but what a great name! ) Well, there you go. Just one man’s opinion, and with Vinnie in charge I realize there’s not a chance in hell any of this will happen.
