SkinSabbath
ON NFL LIVE, they're interviewing WR Porter and he's talking about his free agent options... They called him "a RAIDER FOR NOW..." This guy is practically BEGGING for us to notice him! He would definitely fill the "big receiver" need... And he's a FREE AGENT, so no trade bait (like OCHO SDTINKO)... Now that we're getting the restructure process going, we'll have cap room too!!
emor09
i would like Porter as long as we don't let him slack off he would be a good #2 opposite Moss

Sweet Sassy Molassy
He is a D.C. native. So it could just be a coincidence, or it could be a calculated move on his behalf.
SkinSince87
he's from the DC area so thats why the Nats hat
SkinSabbath
I have a Nats hat, but I don't like them. It is a cool looking hat though. Yeah the NATS are just kinda... meh... Which is why he OBVIOUSLY is sending a message about the town he wants to got to...
RDSCNZ20
well, i know he is from the area... i dunno if the "W" hat means anything... the "W" is starting to become a fad now, but he is big and no draft picks. who knows he may revive is career here. mcarey032
Just because he is wearing a hat doesn't mean that he wants to come here. He is from DC as well, so he could be just representing his hometown.
gorebd82
I mentioned in another post earlier that I would love to bring him in along with some other options to see who emerges as the playmaker, but you can't read too much into the Nats hat. He's from DC. Product of Coolidge HS.
mdboost
This thread was fast! I found that very interesting...especially how the announcer at the end was confidently saying he wouldnt be in oakland anymore

#98QBKiller
All I can think about is Sean Taylor LAYING HIM OUT in 2005, that was a nasty, nasty hit.
Siven
All I can think about is Sean Taylor LAYING HIM OUT in 2005, that was a nasty, nasty hit. I bet Porter remembers that game fondly though. Even if he couldn't play for the Redskins, it would be damn fun to play against them in Washington if you're a washington native.
jivelikenice
He really might be the best option. He hasn't had great production but has been solid and I think the lack of production can somewhat be attributed to the qb/o-line/ and coaching situation in Oakland. Poret was really coming into his own under Gruden who runs a west coast offense and his first year under Calahan. His size also is a big factor. A Porter/Moss/Randel El/ Cooley receiveing corp is not bad.
Pourdanesh
yep dc native ... i worked w/ a guy who was his frat bro, they talked pretty regularly i think -- haha i think my co-worker gave him a hard time for fantasy football. can you imagine having a buddy on your ff team?? JimmyConway
Porter was definitely representing the DC area with that hat and shout-out. He's definitely sending a message to the ATM machine that is Snyder. I wouldn't mind Porter for as long as he comes cheap. If we're going to tap FA I'd rather sign B.Johnson though. glikster04
i find it interesting that people talk so much crap about chad johnson being a cancer, selfish, etc but they want joey porter on their team? Porter whines about everything and is the complete opposite of a team player. too much baggage. let him stay in oakland

Matt Hasselbeck wore a skins hat during the entire Pro Bowl week...I guess we should look for the Redskins to trade for him in the coming weeks? Dictator
oh yea...this is why I don't come into the stadium often. why does everything have to be a secret code? Nat's hats seem to be a fashion statement of some sort recently. I remember people overreacting to Mooch wearing a burgundy tie on NFLN. People thought he was a lock to be our new coach. We know how that worked out. AND FWIW, If I were a free agent, I'd do and say anything to make the skins think I wanted to be a part of their team. That would mean instant payday.
