:applause:

It was the best vacation of my life. 18 hours of sunlight a day makes for a LOT of fishing. Took home over fourty pounds of salmon and halibut fillets. Tasty! Denali is just awesome and Anchorage has the best strip bar I've ever been to - Great Alaskan Bush Co. Yummy Russians with the Natasha accent. Mmmmmmm....ruskies.

:applause: I second what KAOSkin said, I was stationed there for three years and he is right on.

That would be moose burgers. No buffalos in Alasky.

That would be incorrect, sir.

Here's just a few places in Alaska that serve them -

The great alaskan bush company and chilkoot charlies are two must go places.

I was there for four years.. At one point the bush company was rated one of the top 10 strip clubs in the world.

Koots as the locals call the other place is a bar with about 5 bars within...

its a total meat market ;)

I love Alaska. I'm thinking very hard about going back this summer. Once You live in Alaska for a while it gets in your soul. I really miss the place and the friendly people. Alaska has the nicest people that I have ever met.

Here is a link to my thread that I started on Alaska before I went in the summer of 2006.

I lived there over 20 years. Everything everyone has said here is true. There's no other place like it. The scale is amazing. And Chilkoot's in the 70's during the pipeline explosion was often life or death  . Glad I survived. :)

Did you survive the earthquake of 1964 ? (could be wrong about the year )

I had the closest near-death experience of my entire life there.

But other than that, I recommend it.

You have to expound on this. It's the off-season.
My home town!

That's because Alaskans are not jammed in together like a box full of rats...
