Pete
Going through some of the coaching related threads in the past few days, it seems that many are very concerned about us not having a coach in place in time to attend the senior bowl. While it would be nice to have our top guy there, I don't think it effects us as much as people make it out to. Last I checked, our scouting department is in tact. Right now, our top unit coaches are under contract. Dan and Vinny, while they are doing the coaching search, do control their own schedules. So, to me, I don't think we will be at any disadvantage because we haven't named a coach as of this moment. We have more then enough people to send to the senior bowl along with Dan and Vinny. zackmills
It may actually benefit us if Vinny can't make it to the Senior Bowl this year Like you, I think it probably won't make a big deal, but we are putting ourselves at a bit of a disadvantage not having whoever will be coaching us next year involved. Man, it would be sweet to have our staff coaching this game, like the Raiders and Niners do. What an advantage.

HitStickTaylor21
I think we should keep an eye on DeJuan Tribble from BC. He's a CB we could possible take in the 3rd round. Someone who could be a solid nickel for us should Carlos not be ready to go.
DWinzit
The one disadvantage would be if the scouts are evaluating players and positions based mainly on what the current staff philosophies are. A new coaching staff may wish to implement opposite schemes requiring different style players.

I think Dan is trying keep what we have philosophie wise , thus trying to find a coach, if he hasn't already, that buys into our style. I know most dont buy into it, but Snyder isn't a complete idiot, and has Gibbs in his ear which is a big plus.
illone
That avatar is awesome, Pete:laugh:. I'm sure the scout team is working overtime right now to prepare for the upcoming combine and draft. You know, our scouting department has done a great job on actual draft picks. Snyder should allow the same guys input on the free agent decisions around here:paranoid:

Oldskool
I'll set up a paypal account for donations to hire someone to "distract" Vincenzo before the senior bowl and have him "undistracted" after the combine or maybe the draft. Redskins4ever
The Redskins have an excellent scouting staff. They could do the job alone. But I suspect that Synder will have a head coach in place by the time the Senior Bowl game rolls around.
OVCChairman
Our next coach very well might be there. We dont know that. Do you HAVE to be affiliated with a team in order to be granted access? For all we know, GW could be there as a "scout for defense" but he's also watching the offensive players and everything else. Just because we dont have a "coach" in place, doesnt mean the next one isnt there as it is.
