bulldog
limiting turnovers. seeing unheralded low round draft picks and vet minimum free agents come forward to make significant contributions. playing hard for 60 minutes and being a tough out in the fourth quarter. those are a lot of the things that made the Redskins successful in Gibbs' first run here. and facing the adversity of a trunkload of injuries and the loss of Sean Taylor, the team seems to have found the grounding it has lacked. last Sunday the Redskins effort in NY was workmanlike. and that is what made it special. the offense didn't turn the ball over. the defense did pressure the opposition into key mistakes. the passing game, in tough weather, produced a number of 30 plus yard completions. the field goal kicker made a 49 yarder in a stadium know for its shifting winds. We saw Stephon Heyer, Lorenzo Alexander, HB Blades, Reed Doughty, Anthony Montgomery, Laron Landry, Demetric Evans, and Todd Yoder come up with plays to help the team win. finally, the designated 'stars' in Clinton Portis, Chris Samuels, Andre Carter, Santana Moss and Shawn Springs played up to their capabilities with no questions asked. there were no excuses. more importantly, there were no reasons to have to come up with any

SMOSS89
I think we can all be proud of them no matter what happens. They have earned my respect and in my mind, are the mentally toughest team in the league.

emfh2005
Everybody is rallying through Todd Collins. The players have more confidence in him and believe that he can carry a whole game.
Califan007 The Constipated
limiting turnovers. seeing unheralded low round draft picks and vet minimum free agents come forward to make significant contributions. Seriously. I mean, Todd Collins and Todd Yoder connecting on big plays two weeks in a row? lol....Anthony Montgomery looking like a beast in the middle? Reed Doughty actually stepping it up a notch (or two)??... It may have taken 3 years, but it IS starting to look as if we're accumulating some hard working, quality depth that can literally make the plays when needed that help lead to wins...:applause:
bulldog
it's more than rallying around Collins because the defense is continuing to make game-saving plays despite losing personnel to injury. the backups are coming in and maintaining the level of play across the board and that is something that points to something larger going on this team right now. I do believe after the Taylor funeral that the Redskins are well-motivated and have played like a different team. The Redskins simply wanted these games more than the Bears and Giants did. Tastes Like Chicken
These players, as a team, are finally starting to believe in themselves. Coach Gibbs is doing a hell of a job rallying the troops. No matter what happens the next few weeks, I'm proud of what they're doing. :vikesuck: :dallasuck

Johnny White Guy
Like they say in interviews, they play their best ball when their backs are up against the wall. Hopefully they will start a season feeling like that--we are in a tough enough division where they should.
PCS
Through adversity, we can truly see ourselves and those around us. This could be the case with the Redskins right now. Agreed with the original post BD. This team is looking like the Gibbs teams of old. And that's clearly a good thing.
