JaimeDeCurry
Just a random thought....everyone seems to be hyping up Landry, about how he's a true Free Safety and Sean Taylor can move into a more natural Strong Safety position.. ..but wasn't one of Sean Taylor's major selling points his ballhawking skills? His closing speed? His coverage skills? I seem to remember those being his major assets, with his size and big-hit ability being extra.. As long as Williams is our defensive coordinator, it wouldn't really make a difference. His scheme just uses two "safeties" that mix up their responsibilities a lot, not really a strong vs. free safety. He also uses a good bit of 46 scheme, though, and I don't know how well Landry would be able to fit into that...he'd need to be able to play both safety spots in the 46 or else it really limits the amount you can use it because offenses can immediately make the read. Taylor and Landry are both "natural" free safeties, but Taylor just has the size and power to be able to play the run like a typical strong safety is asked to do. Ant15fromNJ
Next year we got to blitz ST more but at the right times hes just beastly.
SKiNz Jus 2 sick
I think he's a terrible blitzer actually. To me he is waisted when he is blitzed because he doesn't get to the quarterback. Williams blitzed him a lot last year too. did i read this right?
ceviker
Sweet. The reason we didn't blitz him as much last year is because there was no one at saftey who could cover! And I don't know if we have anyone this year! Hopefully, PP will be 100% and that should be good enough.
mrdoctor
Good to see the man get some love... but that's a little random. He has, what, 2 or 3 sacks? But I agree... it would be fun to see him blitz more. Yeah I agree.. he deserves it
swisha
I love ST, but he does not belong in that list. I'm not saying he isn't a good blitzer, but he definitely doesn't deserve to be in the top 5.

InsaneBoost
Sean Taylor is a beast, can't denie that, I sure remember him, or atleast I believe it was him going at Manning, didn't he hurt his neck on that play too?

sitting bull
ST is a FANTASTIC Safety... but he is NOT a good blitzer.

But now it seems he's to intent on making a big hit every time. There are times when he or another Redskin could make a play on the ball and Taylor just blows up everything instead. I recall this being stated as by design per Gregg Williams, but I think Taylor needs to be more aware of the ball's location in relation to everything else at times. TonyRomoProBowl
ST, who Roy Williams has 4.5 more sacks and 10 more picks then... I fixed it for ya, seems you were missing the key stokes on your keyboard looking through your B&G glasses;)
HoyaSkins28
he would be a great blitzer if we got a coverage safety to compliment him
wildbill
Don't agree with the write up even thought its good to see ST getting some props. He always seems to take bad angles when he blitzes from where I'm sitting.
D-Day
Great, now if we can just get him blitzing again.
desioreo87
I never thought ST was a good blitzer and last year was pretty evident of that. He always found a way to run into the Oline and get caught. He is a waist as a blitzer and we need him to stay back, let someone else do that, ST isn't good at that. Thats just pass blitzing though, ST is pretty good at teh run blitz.
sitting bull
Every time he blitz this is a 40 yards pass complete for the opponent... because we have no other cover safety last year.
Riggo-toni
Sorry, but I just don't see ST being an elite blitzer. In fact on those rare occasions when he's healthy, Springs is a better blitzer - look at his team-leading 6 sacks in '

Williams blitzed him a lot last year too. I agree with you. I hate when I see Sean Taylor blitz. Most of the time it is just a waste because he never gets to the QB and it leaves are secondary out to dry.

cphil006
He gets blocked easily. Can;t shed them, but he is terrific in run support. Taylor is very wuick for someone his size, but hsi straightline speed for 232 is amazing. Taylor ran track at Miami.
