skinfan4ever
It will probably be anywhere from the 5th to 15th pick in the first round. We need to trade the pick and Adam Archie for a late 1st round and pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd round pick.Whatever they do ,they need to stop trading draft picks for bums. skinz4evr
I don't really have a problem with the trades the team has made over the past few years.Moss for Coles straight up. - Worked out great for us. Portis for Bailey and a 2nd round pick. - People can argue that maybe a 2nd rounder was too much... and I say look at what Portis has done and his age... the 2nd rounder was worth adding. Lloyd for a 3rd and a 4th - I think Lloyd will be fine in the long run, and you can't judge him on his numbers at this point. Not when Brunell was the guy throwing him the ball. Duckett for a 3rd round value. - Trade is starting to look better now that we actually need him. Really, trading for Mark Brunell is the only move I don't like. And the draft day trade for Campbell is something that won't be answered for a while. Not until he plays for a couple years and we see what he's got. I agree, I like the agressive trading, it's some of the "free" agents that have really killed us.

Hercules Rockefeller
The way I see it, we were lucky to get anything for Bailey. He would have left in free agency so I kind see it as if we got Portis for a 2nd round pick. Using that logic, Denver got Bailey and a 2nd round pick from the Skins for nothing. They had told Portis they were not making him the highest paid RB in the league, and he responded by saying that he wanted to be traded because he would be holding out until he got the deal or was shipped to a new team. If Bailey was done for the Skins, even after being tagged, than Portis was done as a Bronco despite having another two years left on his deal. Except that the Broncos has the cap room to let Portis sit on their roster and rot, and Portis wasn't a 7 million dollar cap hinderance with a franchise tag. The Broncos didn't need to get rid of Portis. But the Redskins did need to trade Bailey, or they would have had to remove the tag and let him go in free agency. And then the Broncos could have just picked him up at that point on the free agent market. And the Redskins would have had nothing in return. SkinsFTW
Duckett for a 3rd round value. - Trade is starting to look better now that we actually need him. We only need him if were going to win the last 7 games of the year. Also they still haven't resigned him so we gave away our 3rd rounder.

As of now they project us at #12 with a CB... http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html This mock has zero credibility, how does anyone expect us to finish the season ahead of eleven other teams????? REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
We need a monster DT. We need to start getting some pressure up the middle. We need a monster to compliment Griffin. Golston and Montgomery are good, and they can stay in rotation, but we need a beast on the line.
ozskin
We need to use this pick very well. LB, CB, O or D lineman, what ever it may be, it better be good.
stwasm
Again, trade down with the high pick and re-coup the draft picks we've stupidly given away like candy.
XxSpearheadxX
That's also not correct. If we have a top ten pick and they have a pick in the bottom 10, we will not be swapping first rounders. They'd get a 3rd round pick this year and a 4th round pick next season. If we have a top 10 pick we don't have to give them a fourth. A top ten pick in the 3rd is the value we owe them, so the third would fill out the trade. Close enough though Again, trade down with the high pick and re-coup the draft picks we've stupidly given away like candy. Aren't you just terrified that we will trade our 1st for Jake Plummer or something? I have no faith in some crap like that not happening. I'm scared. This mock has zero credibility, how does anyone expect us to finish the season ahead of eleven other teams????? We're easily top ten, maybe even top five. The Mock is from October 20th, chill. If people want I can post a decent mock from the SNR WarRoom, they are really really good at it.
XxSpearheadxX
1 (1)Cardinals showDraftIcons(6853, false, true)Joe Thomas T Wis. The Cardinals have their quarterback of the future (Matt Leinart) and two elite wide receivers (Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin), but the line can't protect the quarterback. Thomas would help solve that problem. 2(2)Lions showDraftIcons(6927, false, true)Brian Brohm* QB Louisville Lions coach love Jon Kitna's intangibles, but he probably isn't the long-term solution. 3 (3)Raiders showDraftIcons(6202, false, true)Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame Owner/GM Al Davis loves the electrifying speed and big-play ability of Ted Ginn Jr. but must first solve the Raiders' problem at quarterback. 4 (4)Buccaneers showDraftIcons(6992, false, true)Frank Okam* DT Texas The Bucs have needs all over the depth chart. After trading away Anthony McFarland last month, the team must find a defensive tackle who can be a disruptive force in the middle. 5 (5)Titans showDraftIcons(6928, false, true)Ted Ginn Jr.* WR Ohio St. Titans GM Floyd Reese figures to struggle on a decision between the top two wide receivers -- Ginn and Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson -- but Ginn's unbelievable speed should give him the nod. 6 (6)Dolphins showDraftIcons(6856, false, true)Justin Blalock G Texas Dolphins officials will debate long and hard whether to go offense or defense with their first-round pick, but their 2006 season went down the drain because of the struggles along the offensive line. Fixing it must be Job 1. 7 (7)Texans showDraftIcons(6899, false, true)Daymeion Hughes CB Cal The Texans' secondary is unsettled, and Hughes would be a huge upgrade at cornerback. 8 (8)Browns showDraftIcons(7112, false, true)Alan Branch* DT Michigan The Browns desperately need cornerback help, but a stud defensive linemen would be tough for coach Romeo Crennel to pass up. 9 (9)Steelers showDraftIcons(6930, false, true)Calvin Johnson* WR Georgia Tech The Steelers must add another playmaker for Big Ben Roethlisberger.10 (10)Redskins showDraftIcons(6874, false, true) Baraka AtkinsDTMiami (FL) The Redskins would prefer that Okam or Branch falls to them, but that doesn't seem likely. If so, they would take the next-best defensive lineman, Atkins. (11)Bills showDraftIcons(6932, false, true)Zach Miller* TE Arizona St. Bills officials hope Quinn or Brohm slides down to them but at this spot probably would choose between a tight end (Miller) or cornerback (Fresno State's Marcus McCauley). 12 (12)Vikings showDraftIcons(6900, false, true)Leon Hall CB Michigan The Vikings need help in many areas, but the chance to add a tall cornerback to play opposite Antoine Winfield makes a lot of sense. 13 (13)Rams showDraftIcons(6868, false, true)Gaines Adams DE Clemson The Rams' only legitimate pass rusher is Leonard Little, who is 32 and a free agent after this season. Adams would make an immediate impact as a speed rusher. 14 (14)Packers showDraftIcons(6833, false, true)Kenny Irons RB Auburn Packers officials know Ahman Green won't last much longer. They do like Vernand Morency but know he isn't an every-down back. Irons would be a solid pick here. 15 (15)49ers showDraftIcons(6902, false, true)Marcus McCauley CB Fresno St. The 49ers need help in many areas, but a tough, aggressive 6-foot cornerback would be too good to pass on at No. 15. 16 (16)Bengals showDraftIcons(6875, false, true)Quentin Moses DE Georgia The Bengals lack an explosive edge pass rusher, and Moses is a guy who can threaten the corner and make big plays. 17 (17)Falcons showDraftIcons(5940, false, true)LaRon Landry S LSU The Falcons are using the aging Lawyer Milloy, 33, at strong safety, and free safety Chris Crocker has only backup-level skills. The Falcons would be wise to draft one of the three impact safeties in the Class of '07. 18 (18)Jets showDraftIcons(6979, false, true)Adrian Peterson* RB Oklahoma Coach Eric Mangini and GM Mike Tannenbaum like their one-two punch of Leon Washington and Kevan Barlow, but Peterson could be a game-changing franchise back. 19 (19)Cowboys showDraftIcons(6863, false, true)Josh Beekman G Boston Coll. Beekman lacks ideal height at 6-1 3/4, but the Cowboys' interior line is a disaster and Beekman certainly would be able to play immediately. 20 (20)Panthers showDraftIcons(6934, false, true)Greg Olsen* TE Miami (FL) The Panthers would be tempted to draft Penn State outside linebacker Paul Posluszny, but the team has lacked an impact tight end during coach John Fox's entire tenure. 21 (21)Jaguars showDraftIcons(6887, false, true)Paul Posluszny OLB Penn State Jaguars officials would be elated if Posluszny were on the board when it comes time for them to make a pick next spring. He is the best linebacker in the Class of 2007. 22 (22)Chiefs showDraftIcons(6882, false, true)Marcus Thomas DT Florida The Chiefs need defensive line help, and coach Herm Edwards has shown a willingness to try and coach young kids through personal issues to maximize their potential. 23 (23)Eagles showDraftIcons(6910, false, true)Brandon Meriweather S Miami (FL) The Eagles have had major problems at strong safety -- both Michael Lewis and Sean Considine are liabilities back there -- and figure to be willing to gamble on the talented but troubled Meriweather. 24 (24)Patriots showDraftIcons(6965, false, true)Tony Franklin CB Va. (from Seattle) Patriots coach Bill Belichick places a premium on versatile players, and Franklin eventually would be able to start at safety or cornerback. 25 (25)Saints showDraftIcons(7004, false, true)Tanard Jackson CB Syracuse The Saints surprised everyone with a great 2006 season, but the chance to upgrade at cornerback would help the defense take the next step. 26 (26)Patriots showDraftIcons(6895, false, true)Patrick Willis ILB Ole Miss The Patriots' inside linebackers -- Junior Seau, 37, and Tedy Bruschi, 33 -- are old, and Willis would bring the toughness and smarts the Patriots love.27 (27)Giants showDraftIcons(6929, false, true)Aaron Rouse S Va. Tech Giants GM Ernie Accorsi has a history of taking the best athlete on the board, and Rouse definitely could be that person at No. 27. 28 (28)Ravens showDraftIcons(6935, false, true)Zackary Bowman CB Nebraska Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome has a history of gambling and hitting the jackpot on prospects coming off major injuries. Bowman, who has not played since injuring his knee in preseason, has the tools to be a great NFL cornerback once he recovers. 29 (29)Chargers showDraftIcons(7057, false, true)Tala Esera G Hawaii Chargers GM A.J. Smith could take the first real reach in the first round if he were to choose Esera, an athletic but slightly undersized guard. 30 (30)Broncos showDraftIcons(6878, false, true)Victor Abiamiri DE Notre Dame The Broncos' best pass rusher is rookie Elvis Dumervil, an undersized defensive end. The team shouldn't pass on a chance to add a polished every-down end such as Abiamiri. 31 (31)Bears showDraftIcons(6860, false, true)Ryan Harris T Notre Dame The Bears need to add quality offensive linemen to the roster, and Harris has the athleticism and footwork to be a good NFL tackle if he becomes more aggressive. 32 (32)Colts showDraftIcons(7003, false, true)Aaron Ross CB Texas Colts cornerbacks Nick Harper and Jason David are not consistent enough, so the team would be wise to take this tall cornerback who is flying up draft boards after an excellent senior season. Here is a reliable one... I don't want to say where its from though

Hercules Rockefeller
If we have a top 10 pick we don't have to give them a fourth. A top ten pick in the 3rd is the value we owe them, so the third would fill out the trade. Close enough though Sorry, that's not correct. The Skins will owe Denver their '07 3rd and '08 4th if they miss the playoffs. It does not matter how high they are picking in the 3rd round. http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/denver/broncos/archives/2006/10/the_three_rs_re.html But if the Broncos finish too far in front of the Redskins in terms of record, the Broncos get Washington's third-round pick in the 2007 draft and fourth in '08 (the Redskins don't have a four in the '07 draft, so that's why the second pick is in '08).Again, there have been a lot of reports out there the Broncos would get only the third-round pick in some scenarios. That simply isn't true. The only scenario where the Broncos get one draft pick in the deal is if they move up as far as the deal allows in the first round. Then the two teams flip-flop the No. 1 picks, and the deal is done.
