dgreen
Just reporting what I saw on another MB. Somebody said he heard it on "local radio." I think the poster talking about St. Louis radio. The Rams would love to get a good backup for Jackson, considering his recent injury problems.
SkinsHokieFan
What O-lineman or DB on St.Louis would we want?
FunBunch7
The Rams just made an offer to Stephen Davis which I like cause it gives the eagles the shaft yet again! I don't see Betts going to St. Louis

Hadn't heard that about Davis. I can't see them signing Davis AND trading for Betts.

Jimbo
Rookie coaches are not prone to parting with draft picks so it makes sense they would try to sign Davis instead of trading a pick for Betts. If it were a player for player trade, he might be more inclined to pull the trigger.
illone
Could be an interesting place for him, if true. I'd like to get a 3rd for him, if possible.
cphil006
Betts is our #2...he stays...TJ is our Short Yardage specialist...Rock is our #3 and 3rd down back and special tam standout.
eeyeats
Betts is our #2...he stays...TJ is our Short Yardage specialist...Rock is our #3 and 3rd down back and special tam standout. betts is the 3rd down back, not rock. unless there are a number of injuries, rock doesn't see the field outside of special teams. i would be surprised he we traded him at this point, even with the glut at running back. TD_washingtonredskins
I would pull the trigger on a trade that sent Ladell to the Rams for an quality OL or a good pick. The thing is, with his injury history and performance so far, we'd have to settle for a lower-round draft pick.
zt155
Betts is our #2...he stays...TJ is our Short Yardage specialist...Rock is our #3 and 3rd down back and special tam standout. With Portis, that's 4 RB. It's not common for teams to have more than 3 on gameday. Either Rock or Betts is gone.
dgreen
Clarification: The radio report was that the Rams inquired about Betts. So, maybe the Skins were asking too much and the Rams are moving to Davis. Personally, I gotta think Davis is almost done and would much rather have Betts. spanishomelette
At this point after what Gibbs has said, the only way Betts would be traded is if he asked to be.
Skinsfan1311
I hope Betts goes and Rock stays. I like Betts, but, until we signed Duckett, I was kind of worried because Ladell just can't stay healthy. Rock is a special teams stud and I would hate to see him go. I wish Betts well. redskin mark
The best thing would be to trade betts to the Jets - they need help more than anybody. It keeps Betts out of the conference and I think they would part with a 3rd round pick in '07. Translation: We get Duckett and don't have to lose much to get him.:applause:
jimster
I honestly don't think Gibbs wants to get rid of Betts. - Duckett is being added to the team, not replacing anyone. (except maybe Nemo)

Personally, I can not see any team wasting their time to look at a runner way past his prime. Ladell Betts, I must say is an attractive trade offer! flexxskins
Betts is our #2...he stays...TJ is our Short Yardage specialist...Rock is our #3 and 3rd down back and special tam standout. He stays? According to who? TJ Duckett is just as fast, if not faster than Betts and has at least 25lbs on him. Why in the name of heaven would you limit Duckett to just being a short yardage specialist? A staple of Saunders' offense is the screen, Duckett has something like 10 career catches or something.

Well, Portis will most likely see his rush attempts drop, so maybe he no longer leaves on 3rd down and is the receiving back. Kind of like the Giants with Tiki Barber, except Duckett >>> Brandon Jacobs.
redskins4life234
I wouldn't be suprised if this was true. Betts seems the most umcomfortable about duckett coming in, and he would be good for others team. We could probably gewt a good draft pick or o-line depth off of him. Why in the name of heaven would you limit Duckett to just being a short yardage specialist?Because Gibbs himself said he planned on all 4 being on the roster. And Duckett is a different kind of runner than Betts - it's not all about top speed, which is useful only when a runner has broken into the secondary. It's also about quickness and elusiveness. Betts is a more exact replacement for Portis.
Jordash
Maybe Ladell wants to go there. I think he's from missouri.
