Essential albums

I did say that if anyone heard what I listened to and said, "If this is what you like, what are you doing judging a singing contest?" I wouldn't have much of a response for them. With the exception of my love for 70s soul music, nothing I listen to has great singing on a technical level.

So, you can't say I haven't already disclosed this weakness.

Screw that - David Byrne can sing. Plus, you do have a Beatles album in there.

FWIW - i like Dylan's singing on his early albums.

This is why I specified "on a technical level." If someone like David Byrne were on American Idol, I would probably support him like crazy, but I'd probably be the only one.

P.S. - When I say, "someone like David Byrne," I don't mean, someone who's copying David Byrne. I mean some singer who's technically bad, but finds a way to make his voice work with the music extremely well, and has a very compelling stage presence.

hippie.

me:

the low end theory - tribe called quest

do you want more - the roots

C'mon i can get WAY more hippie than that - there's not even a Dead or Phish album in there. Plus, i did mention The Chronic in a later post. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take a patchouli bath and smoke a joint. :D
