We all know who is really holding this CBA up.

I'm willing to bet one of the main problems at these meetings is none other than the Eagles Jeff Lurie. And it really baffles me as to why this guy would want to cause such a problem. Over the years he's proved to be one of the cheapest guys in the NFL.

Letting players walk over a measly $9,000 (See Raheem Brock! D'oh!) Letting Corey Simon go for absolutely zilch. Refusing to pay Westbrook until the 11th hour. This guy is a real stickler. I love the Eagles. But I don't love Jeff Lurie.

I don't understand why Lurie and Banner would want an uncapped NFL. These guys barely spend in the cap era and we usually have the most cap space out of anyone.

Too bad you guys dont have a smiley that says LURIE SUCKS. Because I would [insert that here].

No single owner can block the CBA. It takes at least 9 to do that.

Why can't it be the 23? Just because their the majority doesn't mean their right. I think both sides are to blame, they both have their reasons to do what they want to do. You can't just blame the 9, both sides are at fault. Just my opinion.

Lurie is one of the owners mentioned in the 9 teams that do not want to give up local revenue sharing. The eagles carry a pretty large payroll despite being thrifty in spending the cap dollars..

Wait why am I defending this guy....Lurie sucks and is a cheap $%*&%$&

Well, a lot of those 23 are going to be screwed without a cap. How many free agents in an uncapped NFL are going to visit JAX before DC, NE, Houston or Dallas? They have a hard enough time luring free agents (because they don't like to give bonuses) with the salary cap keeping Dan in check. The cheap teams are going to be priced out of getting any good free agents, their teams will suck, they will lose money and eventually have to sell/move their teams. They want all of Dan's money, well, there about to see first hand what Dan's money can do when the leauge goes to unfettered capitalism after approaching the brink of socialism. Good luck keeping up, Arizona, Jax, GB and company. These pricks are going to feel the full wrath of Dan Synder come 2007 and they'll wish they had just shut the **** up and signed a deal.

Maybe i misread, but the thing the Nine are btching about is that they, like Lurie, Snyder, Kraft, Allen, etc have invested much more heavily into the financial success of their teams, what with new stadiums, new luxury revenues, and other teams, such as the Chargers or Bengals, haven't invested squat. Everyone pays the same percentage into the Revenue Sharing, but the share the nine are paying is significantly higher in dollar figures than a lot of other teams.

(the only difference is Jerry Jones, he hasn't really invested in the stadium, but he's about to build a Cowboys type theme park with the new stadium in it... that will add so much more to the kitty. Dallas is a marketing beast and has been for 30 years.)

I can sympathize with their point. For example, Mike Brown didn't help Lurie build his stadium and attract all that new revenue, but he wants a piece of it. However, i do hope thyey ultimately realize that the revenue sharing is one of the prime reasons the league is as strong as it is.

I know, I just can't believe that the small market teams all willing to give up the money they get in shared revenue now because they're pouting about not getting all of it. Maybe, in the end, they'll still make more because they can field a 15 mil team if they feel like it. I can't see how this hurts anyone but the low revenue teams in the end. Usually, when you're trying to get someone else's money it's on you to compromise and be rational. Apparently not, they'd rather get starved out in a few years because the league won't turn Red Russia for them.

Del,

Lurie doesn't want an uncapped year. He just doesn't want rules in place that force him to pay players when he could simply get money from others and pocket it.

Lurie summed up in 2 sentences! :applause::applause:

I will shed no tears if this happen.

Unfortunately that would mean drive by posters playing Madden for the first time will flood the forum with what we think this year are stupid posts, but next year highly probable.
