Break up the Ravens! The unrestricted free agent won't get huge money, but he won't stay on the market long as an experienced starting free safety. herrmag
I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll find a way to keep Clark. That is, unless someone gives him AP money. But, I honestly believe the defense loves GW, and some of them might be willing to take SLIGHTLY less money to stay. Then again, maybe I'm just hopeful
jivelikenice
We need to keep Clark. He's a core redskins and we can't let him go like we did with Pierce. Their presense in the lockeroom is invaluable.
LiveStrongSkins
I will be pissed off more about Clark leaving then any other past Redskin. Call me crazy but he has done NOTHING but play his heart out and give thanks to the organization everytime a camera is in his face. Not only will he knock your block off but he is a yes sir yes mam type of guy and obviously wants to be here. Thank god we have Gibbs. I think there is 0 chance of him leaving. DoGood28
I like Clark and think Will Demps would make our secondary even better. But we have TONS of safety depth so we will be ok in either case.

Hence, Mr. Ego Billick will be looking for a new job. Wonder who would sign the the self proclaimed offensive genius. NOT!
Skinfan56
many times it has been metioned that gregg williams wants to have shawn springs make a late career switch to safety. Anybody think that we wont make too big of an offer to ryan clark because williams thinks that time has come? Then maybe we'll go after a CB in the draft or in FA. i know it'd be a real long shot but maybe we've got something in mind for clements, or maybe we could draft somebody like jonathan joseph in the 2nd round. Fifty Gut
Clark isn't going anywhere, again, a case of us fans overhyping him he's a hard hitter, but a liability in coverage he'll be resigned and back in rotation

Not only will he knock your block off but he is a yes sir yes mam type of guy and obviously wants to be here. Thank god we have Gibbs. I think there is 0 chance of him leaving. I think I know why Ryan Clark plays with so much HEART. When the New York Giants waived safety Ryan Clark in May 2004, no other team came calling. For two months Clark was out of football, and he began to wonder if his parting conversation with Tim Lewis, the Giants' defensive coordinator, would be his last with an NFL official. Perhaps Lewis's explanation for Clark's release would be prophetic. "His words were," Clark said, " 'They don't think that you can tackle in this league, [or] that you're big enough to play safety.' " That sentiment reverberates through Clark's mind to this day. He treats every play for the Washington Redskins as an opportunity to erase that label and show the league how tough he is, sacrificing his 5-foot-11, 205-pound frame to stop bigger running backs and tight ends. He is a burgeoning playmaker in his second season here, a linchpin on one of the NFL's premier defenses. "He's got a fire to him," end Renaldo Wynn said. "He's out there just blowing people up.". http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dy...5110902302.html We need to keep this guy in house. If Gregg Williams trusts him enough to be his starting SS then we need to "make him an offer he can't refuse."

As injury prone as Springs is, I really can't see the switch to safety doing him any good. He'd surely be able to make the transition in terms of coverage, but I doubt he'd stay healthy with the increased need to make tackles all over the field. Gamebreaker
They should re-sign Clark and release Bowen. Bowen was brought in to be a starter, and he isn't now, he's also being paid starter money and we could use that cap space to shore up some positions.
