Staylor21
If Lavar is to get cut who is going to replace him? I think if he is released it will be trouble and be talked about all the time because there is no solid draft player bnor free agent to fill the void and have Lavar potiential. grassyglen
Obvious answer right now is Holdman. But, based on his production earlier this year, I'm hoping they find someone else.

bulldog
Holdman won't be back. He is shot at 30. It was a decent gamble for the Skins in hoping that reuniting him with Blache would rekindle his career but that knee injury he sustained 2 years ago really seems to have taken away a lot of his quickness and ability to move laterally to the ball, sideline to sideline. Arrington may be back. The cap numbers would work better in 2006 if he is on the team and they re-do his deal. But that will delay the pain to another day and exponentially so. But if he does leave, there are usually a group of veteran linebackers that hit the market in free agency that have the capability of coming in and helping your football team. Let's remember that even though Holdman/Arrington were playing the playmaking 'weakside' spot, it is in fact Marcus Washington who is the true playmaker in the group. I could see a veteran like Carlos Emmons come to the Skins and give us solid linebacking on the outside (if healthy) at reasonable cost.

Spear
If LaVar goes, look for Lemar Marshall to move back to his more natural position. In any case, I think the coaching staff is going to look into getting a true MLB, as they've said repeatedly that Marshall is playing out of position. kreitmaster
We should sign a veteran LB like a Carlos Emmons and under no circumstances bring back Warrick Holdman. I really like Chris Clemons to be used as a fourth linebacker to blitz the QB. He has incredible speed and he is really good at disrupting the QB. thinker
It's 100% certain that Holdman won't be back. He was so ineffective that the coaches put Lavar back in against their instinct that he wouldn't play the way they wanted him to. I think Lavar could be back - I would guess that it's a little less than 50-50. If he isn't - Chris Clemons would be a candidate to replace him. He does know the defense and Lindsey has shown that he can turn unheralded lbs into big time players for the team.

I honestly do not know much about Clemons except he played hard, and disrupted the QB even with only 3 down linemen. Do you know how well he does the other things necessary for linebackers? Thanks. Dirk Diggler
My guess is that Lemar Marshall replaces him and we add a FA at MLB.
kreitmaster
Here's the guy we should get if we're looking for a MLB: Ronald McKinnon. Football futures says: Ronald McKinnon, ILB, New Orleans: The consumate pro. A great pass defender, McKinnon has also been a tackling machine over the years. Stuck in a bad situation in New Orleans, McKinnon was called upon to be the focal point of the defense. McKinnon would be better served along side other veterans, on a playoff calibur team, where he would likely put up numbers to rival Cato June's. Sounds like a solid player. Mania
noone is going to replace LA. He will be back and in top form next year. He will also be in the 2nd year with Gregg Williams for the first time in his career. LA was injured for basically the entire first year of Gregg Williams, so in essence it is LA's 2nd year with GW.
