lovemaskins
Hi fellow skins, this is my second post, and usually very reserved because I'd rather read comments from other very informative fans. However, today I am compelled to speak up. The obvious is the tournovers and big plays on defense, (who Lavar obviously can help, and yes my favorite player) but I feel we need another deep threat on offense to take more pressure off of Santana "homerun" Moss. Our offense runs through him right now not Clinton Portis, which is why I believe defenses are playing us honest right now. I still don't believe teams respect us as much as we would like. I also feel the true missing piece to our defense is the pure DE pass rush. Until we get an athlete with a high motor who hustles we are gonna look loose on defense. Although our defense is very good and solid teams have learned to beat our defense, i.e. quick throws vs the blitz, attack the perimeter, or run multiple receiver sets because there will be no pressure. I watched every game this year and teams aren't suprised now, that's why you don't see Greg blitzing as much anymore. It was very obvious against Dallas. Now, we could have easily kept Smoot and used the pick on a pass rush specialist, (using 20/20 hindsight) but we didn't. But, I'm not griping, because I do trust our coaching staff. I've seen more fight in our dogs now then I have since our glory days. Therefore (hence and forever more) I believe we are headed down the right path and once we realize or add these few components I think then we will see the well oiled machine of an excellent Joe Gibbs football team. And, though we are very competitive we are gonna have to play mistake free ball and in todays NFL with the caliber of athletes on every team that's gonna be near "U"npossible. I love my Redskins and bleed Burgandy and Gold (and just painted a Redskins mural on my parents storage house) so I hope we fill in these areas of concern so we will REALLY have a team that not only wins games but dominates and wins championships. Love all you fellow skin fans. :2cents: :feedback: :adoration

Skins11
Gregg Williams did a fantastic job with the D last year. I mean the D was just SICK. Runningbacks would almost never get more than 2 yards on a play. It was just a masterpiece. Now, the defense looks good, but not elite as it was last year. I think the coverage of our corners is pretty good, but now our run stopping, the real strength last year, has taken a huge drop. I think a lot of this has to do with the departure of Antonio Pierce, who knew the defense inside and out. Griffin said that a lot of his success last year was due to Pierce telling him where to be -- this comment from Griffin really worried me. As far as the offense goes, I think it took a step back today, just because of the turnovers. Not sure what is up with the inconsistent running game. It's KC man. How could Portis only get 77 yards and no TDs on them? I think what we need the most right now is a young DE who can turn a game like Jared Allen just did. Second would be a linebacker or possession receiver. Thoughts?
Fred Jones
We need our CB's to get healthy, especially Springs. I agree, we need a pass rushing DE that can get consistent pressure. However, that was the same problem we had last year.
laurent
The most pressing need would be a pass rushing DE. Unfortunately those aren't growing on trees and you aren't going to find any teams willing to make a deal right now. Looking at the team and who we have available on this unit right now I'd say weakside LB is the next most pressing position of need. Holdman is a waste of a roster space, he cannot get it done out there. LaVar needs to see the field and it absolutely pains me to say this. BrunellSuperbowl
we need a pass rushing linebacker / d end who can rush the passer. Chase down running backs when they break lose on the sides. A guy that who can free lance a little and cause fumbles and sacks on Quartebacks. And a guy who is a pro bowler . I wish we could get someone like that. In the off season lets go get a linebacker like that and pay him a billion dollars.

TLusby
We need to draft some new Zebras and have Danny give them the largest bonus ever. This will make up for the last several years of taking it on the chin every week.

Our D would really be ready to go. :applause:
skinthemboys
The most room for improvement is the d-line. But they havnt lost games for us. Its turnovers. simple. We dont turn the ball over in denver and kc and I believe we would be 6-0. turnovers turnovers turnovers
