D'Pablo
How many first down catches were made on Rogers? I never realized that Springs is the glue for our D. All these runs to the outside would have been blown up by him.
DjTj
Springs led the team in sacks and interceptions last year. We can blitz more when Shawn is in there because he is so solid in coverage and in run support. Not having Shawn Springs is the reason we don't get any turnovers, why we can't blitz more, and why we're giving up the 3rd down conversions. SkinsHokieFan
Yeah DJ is dead on right Springs really is a lynchpin to this D and what we can do back there
Matador36
They draft DEs - we don't. Look at what #69 is doing for them.
Drockvb
Turnovers and penalties don't help. Getting burned for big plays don't help. no pressure on the QB doesn't help. Not scoring in the red zone doesn't help. makes me sick.
fuji869
Yep, we could have used Old #24 in our secondary today. That was the knock on him in Seattle was he could not stay healthy. :whoknows:
USNationalist
Jimoh isnt helping any either with his untimley pass interfearance.
Potato Sack
We're losing with or without Springs because no one's tackling, we're turning the ball over, and creating costly penalties. Yes, it would be great to have Springs in the game, but in my opinion we always shoot ourselves in the foot regardless of who's in there.
Leonard Washington
why don't we blitz bowen anymore?

dawgjk9
we lost because we turned the ball over 3 times and the CHIEFS scored a defensive touchdown..the chiefs out of anyone in the league...geez.
DjTj
why don't we blitz bowen anymore? because we need to keep him in coverage. Harris and Rogers can't cover without safety help, but Springs can. ...I would even go as far as to say that when Shawn Springs comes back, LaVar will get on the field again. We will put more pressure on the quarterback when the coaches are more confident in the pass coverage.
D'Pablo
Springs makes the style of defense we play possible. I believe that our defense was built from the outside in.
RedskinGodfather
I do regret drafting Rogers. Although I do hope he can only get better.
Ignatius J.
No way guys. Our defense played plenty well today. You guys act like we're playing some crappy offense like the dallas cowboys every week. There are teams in this league that spend all of thier time on the offense. The Chiefs don't have a defense. And yet, we scored 14 points. Doesn't that get old eventually? You cannot win games in this league scoring 14 points on offense. Especially away games. Blaming the defense when they are forced to deal with incompetance on offense is silly, especially against a team like the chiefs who don't have a defense. Warhead36
Rogers actually had a solid game from what I'm seeing. He made a couple great open field tackles on Holmes, Johnson, and Gonzalez. I'd say the biggest culprits today were Warrick Holdman, Ade Jimoh, and the DL not getting consistent pass rush.

He needs to be more physical at the LOS and play the WR straight up; although, it might be GW who is playing him deeper since he's a rookie.
