Fields is like a poor man favela version of Lamar Jackson. Very weird comparison. I'd be much more comfortable if he said Lamar or Michael Vick as a runner. He's got that sort of speed (if he survives NFL linebacker hits).

Situationally it wasn't a terrible hire. Quinn gutted the Cowboys defensive staff. Just thinking from a minority or a majority owners perspective. Brand is severely deflated and floundering. Bill can still coach and still has eight super bowl rings.

I agree with Magic Johnson. BB wouldn't have been a bad hire given the state of the organization. Fair or not, players and opposing fanbases view the Redskins (Commanders lol) as an expansion team with a **** name and the only culture\tradition the organization has is tied to a moron head coach that also tainted the team with a moron name. This is a painful realization (like the Matrix scene) but that's how this organization is viewed. That's why Montez Sweat was laughing at ThECommManders and why Daniels appeared (or his agent) to be ashamed at playing for this organizaiton and that's why he's wearing silver and black. Bringing in old Bill could have caused a clash with the GM but I wonder if it would have given some weight and legitimacy to the brand and the team?

Daniels just confuses me. He seems to think shooting his foot off a couple weeks before draft day is OK. Jayden needs to either lay low or help old women across the road...Not flex, hire a morAn for an agent, and float out "luke warm" responses about the team picking #2 in the draft. He's not John Elway. He's got a Teddy Bridgewater-like arm and can run but has a slight frame. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and he should be acting with extreme caution.

What I like about JD is that he could probably do OK from from day one as long as he's not being asked to run an Andy Reid offense. He could easily run for 80 yards and throw his soft touch passes and be competent for teams that need to win now. Washington needs a big armed QB that has a high ceiling because nobody expects them to be the 49ers in September. Build the team and find a QB that's got the highest ceiling. If they can trade back and soak these desperate teams -- and still draft their guy -- than all the better in my mind.

What am I missing about JD? He's got a mediocre (average) arm, slender, regressed years two and three, was surrounded by perennial talent at wide receiver and he takes bad hits because he scrambles out of (clean) pockets 10% of the time -- which is absurdly high. I don't watch college so maybe there's some aspect of his game I'm blind too (quick release? Mechanics? elite at reading defenses?). If it's just "he's electric" than god speed Adam Peters.

Not a fan of Jayden Daniels. At all. Weak arm. Slender frame. Takes terrible hits and doesn't protect himself. Bails on clean pockets to run and take those terrible hits. I can't see him surviving in the NFL but he's the type of QB a SanFran exec typically gets steamed up for. Caleb Williams is a unicorn and is going to Chicago and they'd have give up too much draft capital to trade up... Drake Maye doesn't impress me either. Reminds me of a poor-mans CJ Stroud that might scramble more. This almost feels like a situation where you could trade back, pick up more draft picks, grab a QB (Penix, Mcarthy) and patch the nine thousand holes they've got in the roster.

I have a connection to the backup...He's from Virginia (Lorton). He got put into a real bad spot. Can't expect a rookie to handle Andy Read chess matches.

No other QB has had more than 325 yards passing to go along with 60+ yards rushing except for Mahomes. And he did all of that with a rookie as receiver #1 and a center that couldn't hike the ball. That was a special performance.

They benched Toney and Skyy Moore. All year they were trying to force them into the rotation and it resulted in picks, drops and failed drives. Rice is also a mauler and he came on strong in the later part of the year. If the Chiefs get a genuine number 1 receiver next year they'll be a tough out.

You're stuck in a different era. The current Chiefs are a ball-control and defense team. Sneed's the best corner in the league. Mcduffie is in his second year and he's an all pro. Bolton is a KILLER. George the Greek has 10.5 sacks. They're better than Baltimore at defense. Which is how Mahomes had a mediocre year yet they're still in the second round. That's drafting. The 49ers defense can't hold a candle to the Chiefs this year. And that may be one fo the reasons the chiefs worked them last year. And the offense has an all pro center, a 7th round running back that tore up Miami (Paecheko) and Rice is a record setting rookie receiver for the franchise. The Chiefs are in a better spot than Baltimore and the 49ers. Better personal and more picks. And all of that with the best QB in the league on his second contract.

Why go with this guy from the 49ers and not Mike Borgonzi? Seems like trendy recency bias.

Yes. Naggy is despised by all. Eric is a very good red zone playcaller (Washington is #4) and KC has been noticeably worse this year in the red-zone.

Life long Chiefs fan and I'll never understand the media's love-affair with the 49ers. They've won diddly since the Young superbowl. Shannahan has only had intermittent success (misses the playoffs) with the team since 2019. They've had many, many head scratching moments in the draft. Many. And their free-agency is wild. Trading FOUR picks for a skill player? Didn't work out last year in the playoffs and it may not this year either (he's hurt). The Chiefs have the youngest defense in the league and it's rated #2. Says something. And just like the 49ers they've got a major contributor from the 7th round starting. They draft killers every year. And they don't ever need to trade the farm away nor are they empty handed. They've got two superbowls. Peters is a big name and he'll drum up interest but I'm honestly surprised they eschewed a guy from the Chiefs who was part of the MAHOMES draft and has been killing it for 15 years. Time will tell.

Is there any reason not to pick Drake Maye? Any? Big prototypical QB with a strong arm that's put up numbers and looks like Herbert's doppelganger. Seems like a no-brainer unless the USC unicorn Mahomsian QB falls to the 2 spot.

I've always been impressed with how the Shannahan's rebuilt their offense from the floorboards up to accommodate this princess. They created a layered NFL read-option \ zone running offense with three tight ends. At the time RGIII bickered about it. I fully support Jay in his struggles with this weirdo.

I was utterly mind blown and exited that they managed to get a 3rd for Chase Young. I couldn't believe the 49ers did that and I've got to wonder if something isn't quite right with that organization.

People forget that Ron wanted to bench Haskins and draft a QB day one. Fans and the media were utterly irate and browbeat the man into selecting a bust. But beyond him not standing up for himself he strung together clowns for the offensive line. You can't open up the playbook and use these skill players you keep drafting if you lose in the trenches.

I was impressed with the throws against Denver. He's got an arm and can hit targets from a clean pocket and he's not afraid to fit the ball into tight windows. And he can move around some. But damn Howell plays with some of the lowest situational awareness that I've ever seen from an NFL QB...Lowers the shoulder to lay hits on linebackers while he's running out of bounds. Throws the ball into the stands on free-plays. And he can't handle obvious pressure situations (see Giants). Holds onto ball and walks into sacks. Washington could possibly trade him to a team with an offensive minded head coach that's intrigued with the raw talent and get a late draft pick. With the right GM late round draft picks can be key contributors (see Veach from the Chiefs).

Two things can be true...You can have a terrible offensive line and a slow witted QB that stumbles into stupid decisions. That explains the nine thousand sacks and the 10 point offense. He's not a smart player. How many times is he going to throw the ball away when there's an obvious defensive offsides flag (I've seen him do this twice)? How many times do we have to watch him keep the ball on a draw play and then lose six yards? Will he ever make a pre-snap read? Ever? He's got arm talent but so does Carson Wentz...I see nothing but more darkness and struggles with this franchise if they try and hitch their futures to this 5th round talent. He's gone backwards and floundered when he's not playing garbage defenses (Eagles, Patriots). He needs to compete next year against a journeyman or a draft pick. And if they (the NEW GM) has their guy fall to them in the first than they should pull the trigger instead of doing what idiot-boy Riveria did and start Dwayne Haskins (because he's the "the guy").

Starting this clown quarterback over Howell was a fireable offense. Anybody with two eyes could see that Wentz is a mediocre version of Elvis Grback.

Is the irony lost that we've got a top three pick (sack boy) sitting on the bench? Soggy conditions at FedEx. Normally that's injury city. Taylor's got to play a clean game and the defense has to stop a one dimensional offense.

Allen made a perfect throw but that got washed away with his Matt Castle impersonation on 3rd down. Washington can't win with a quarterback that ****s the pants on 3rd down.

Nuance. Washington is in a better position with a solid game manager QB vs spending 500 million dollars on a QB that looks like garbage in a two deep shell...Very dangerous opinion. But there it is.

I grew up watching Derrick Thomas. Dude was a killer the second he took the field at Arrowhead. By this point in his career he was already on pace for a 20 sack season and was filling up Arrowhead (single handedly). That's what a generational talent is supposed to look like. Young is good but he wasn't worth the #2.
