  1. He is on pace for a 30-30 season. He’s not too far off the pace for a 40-40 season. Absolutely incredible. I don’t think the homerun pace maintains throughout the season, but I’m hoping the 70ish point improvement in his OBP is here to stay.
  2. They have a lot of roster decisions to make over the next month. Robles starts a rehab assignment. Garrett is currently on one. Thomas may be ready late May/early June. Gallo’s injury isn’t long term. Call has done well in his limited sample, but I don’t think he sticks. I wouldn’t send Young down for Robles. I think we’ll see Robles back soon and Call sent down. They’ll go with an OF of Winker, Robles, Young. Maybe Robles plays himself into a trade or gets released. Wood replaces him. Garrett replaces Rosario. Whomever is healthier first (Gallo, Thomas) replaces Lipscomb. Lots of moving parts and priorities to manage. I know Senzel has another year of control, but if he plays his way into a Candelario type trade, I think you jump on it. This is just the position side. We could have Gray and Cavalli returning in a similar timeframe.
  3. Look, I like Abrams as much as the next guy. But I took the over on season steals. If he keeps hitting homers and other extra base hits, that bet ain’t gonna pay.
  4. Major shooting in Charlotte this afternoon. Three US Marshalls were killed attempting to serve a warrant.
  5. They need to get more guys who can consistently pitch multiple innings every few games if their bullpen is being asked to cover four to five innings a night. Cant really hold up when six of the guys are one inning types.
  6. It was pretty funny, the edited clip I saw. ”It’s nice to be at an event with the President without it starting with the bailiff saying ‘all rise’”
  7. Take a look at what you linked. He’s made 12 appearances and has been scored on four times. He had only been scored on once in his first eight appearances. He pitched three days in a row in Oakland which were game 6-8 for him. Then sat for six days and now has given up runs in three of his last four games.
  8. Odd how Weems’ struggles started after pitching three days straight.
  9. They are picking each other up. Can’t believe that after committing three errors in game 1 in 2023, Abrams commits his first in game 27. The did botch three DP attempts. Call made a nice play in right, and Lipscomb made a very important play late (eight hits so far in the series). Wild that this lineup is capable of 23 runs in two back to back games. Will Senzel produce himself into a trade chip?
  10. Hell yeah! I was very disappointed to see that pipeline dropped him out of the top 30. He’s so young for his level. This is very encouraging, but not all too unexpected. Another dude to keep an eye on for that Wilmington team is Luke Young. Three of his four starts this season have been scoreless efforts. 22 year old ‘22 11th rounder out of JUCO.
  11. You had mentioned the lack of tragedy porn in the broadcast in a different thread. I think the NFL has paid attention to the feedback and now pushes these reaction calls instead.
  12. Heard an interview with Cavalli before the game today. Tomorrow is basically like the day hitters report to ST as far as his rehab goes. He has the green light to let it fly against live hitters. As he builds endurance, we could be looking at an early June return. Gray may be back by that time as well. With the way Williams has been pitching, he may become a trade chip - something I would have realistically thought was a possibility in March.
  13. Thank you. Yes, doing a rough positional grouping. Looking to see who could be the 25 guys that make the roster as of today. From that group, who should drop out and whom should be added in?
  14. Post draft, who are the best 25 players on defense? Not necessarily in order. Who would you add and take away? Allen Payne Armstrong Ferrell Fowler Obada Jean-Baptiste Ridgeway Newton Luvu Wagner J Davis Pittman MaGee Martin Chinn St Juste Forbes Forrest Reaves Sainristil Hampton Butler M Davis Igbinoghene This leaves off Mathis, Henry, Jones, and Holmes (draft picks on rookie deals).
  15. It’s fun to get excited about this year’s picks under a new regime, but it’ll take time to see how they pan out. We can put a bow on Rivera’s four drafts: 2020 Young - fifth year option not picked up. Gibson - signed 2nd contract in FA ($5.3M guaranteed) Charles - signed 2nd contract in FA (1 year $250k guaranteed) Gandy-Golden - retired early Ismael - cut within four years, bounced around, currently guaranteed $25k in AZ Hudson - signed 2nd contract ($491,500 guaranteed) Curl - signed 2nd contract ($6M guaranteed) Smith-Williams - signed 2nd contract ($167k guaranteed) 2021 Davis - no fifth year option Cosmi - starting guard, potential building block St-Juste - 37 games played in 3 seasons Dyami Brown - 2024 bubble player/roster casualty John Bates - blocking TE, 508 yards in 3 years Darrick Forrest - still in the mix at S Cheeseman - LS couldn’t last 3 seasons. Bradley-King - on and off the roster now in NE with no guarantee money Toney - took a bet on himself, but is no longer on the team. Milne - on and off the roster. Currently outside the top 6 WR under contract. 2022* Dotson - needs a bounce back year 3 to get a fifth year option. Mathis - injury riddled two years, DT3 was drafted early in 2024. Cut candidate Robinson Jr. - starting RB Sam Howell - 1 year starter, traded away. Cole Turner - roster bubble Chris Paul - roster bubble Holmes - roster bubble * traded back to get extra picks, but passed on Chris Olave and Kyle Hamilton 2023 Forbes - couldn’t play at all in last year’s scheme. Maybe new coaches can salvage. Martin - chess piece for Whitt Jr Stromberg - team signed two centers and a guard this offseason Daniels - roster bubble Henry - roster bubble Rodriguez - back of the roster RB Jones - roster bubble. 33 selections for the Rivera era. I would expect only 9 to definitely make the 2024 roster, with an additional 9 maybes.
  16. Call? I’d rather have Millas and be able to play Adams and Ruiz at the same time.
  17. I’ve been out this week, so I may have missed some things. But I see that Travis Sykora is skipping the FCL and will pitch for Fredericksburg.
  18. The thing from this that sticks out is that Charlotte is included in its limited, targeted release. North Carolina is definitely in play.
  19. I saw video of him working out. Not too concerned about him.
  20. White Todd is not endearing himself to this judge. ”There’s two systems of justice in this courtroom? That’s what you’re saying”
  21. Shout out to @Cooked Crackfor the Adam Klasfeld recommendation. IMO, he has the best play by play.
