10-6 us
We extend this eternal mediocrity for one more week.

Yes. 3 weeks ago we had 40. So… it’s much better than it has been and much less of a. Issue.
Bienemy changed the gameplan and the offense looks better. Quick hitters.
The line can’t run block or pass pro for longer developing plays, so… if we want to avoid sacks this is our offense.
I'm not saying our offense is bad, it's just unbalanced.
It's becoming clear it's unsustainable for a complete season, let alone more than one.

I'm all in on Howell.
And while I know the two running backs had good games receiving yesterday, I'm more than comfortable with EB having Howell throw it 75% of the time or whatever the percentage is. I've got no interest in watching butterfingers Gibson and the non-homerun threat Robinson try to run it. We've finally got a QB that can sling it, let him rip.
Fix the O-line this offseason in a big way, give him protection and get some linebackers and I think we can be okay.
I also like the guy but our approach has been really unbalanced. I don't know if such a pass-heavy offense is sustainable even for a full season.
We're still one of the worst teams rushing in the NFL (26th overall) and our longest run of the season is a measly 29 yards.
Even a very old and bruised AP produced better rushing numbers around here not too long ago.
And the sacks allowed, as you know, have also been a problem.
The even more incompetent Giants are dead last in the League at 54. Guess who's second worst at 47?

That would be the big WR, who we don't have on roster right now.
Ahhh the possibilities...

So EB's system vs Kyle's are apple's and oranges. but what EB does as far as scheming guys open is like playing chess. Its not about getting Terry open. This is not the Heinike system. Terry and Dotson are the Queens of the system and Logan is a knight, BRob and Gibson are the bishops. we go into each game deciding which piece has the advantage and go there. Yesterday it was the bishops so we went there, and went back there for almost 200 yards.
Other games people say that EB doesn't get WRs open, but they get open and drop the ball (looking at you Dotson and Brown). That's not on EB thats on them.
Ok, but who's the tower?

One thing though: for quite a few weeks now we’ve seen Howell doesn’t actually need the running game to be really successful. Being unpredictable is what’s important.
We can be unpredictable alright...unpredictably incosistent.

Balance is not running and passing the same amount.
Washington DC 30
Seattle Washington 31
If you have Mahomes that makes sense.
But Howell needs some kind of running game to balance his 40+ passes per game.
Last week versus NE was one of our better running games of the season and it showed.
No one particular runner reached 100 yards but the change of pace helped Howell a lot.

It’s a byproduct of a pass happy OC paired with a bottom 30 defense. They gotta and they wanna so there are no rails at allPass-happy is an understatement. More like obsessed. We're basically KC East Coast wannabees.
Mercifully, EB kinda solved the sack fiesta of the first-half of the season. We're still second-worst in that regard though bc the Giants just passed us (49 vs 44).

Lanky? Terry is 6’ dead. Dotson is 5’ 11”.
Samuels is 5’ 11”.
If anything they lack a 6’+ lanky guy.
You're right.
Still a bit taller than Crowder at 5'9.

I love me some Jamison Crowder, but at the same time, I'm kind of disappointed that he's shining for us at WR where others aren't. What happened to the rest of our depth? Was Crowder always this good and teams just mismanaged him, or are our WRs playing noticeably bad enough that they're letting a 30 year old player the entire state of New York gave up on steal their thunder?
He's had a very consistent career.
Perfect fit in the slot for us right now. Tough guy. Not as lanky as the other WRs.

I'm still not convinced on this team.
Score should have been 44-10 in our favor. We absolutely dominated in TOP and total yards but barely managed a 3 point difference.
And New England is atrocious. One of the worst Belli-Cheat teams I have ever seen. They will be selecting in the first 5 slots of the draft.
Our Defense is very irregular.
But hey, at least we had a more balanced attack with some flashes in the running game to compliment Howell's great day.
And only three sacks today. A huge improvement for our O-line two weeks in a row.

-
Belli-Cheat is still a good defensive coach. Or at least much better than Rivera.
This will be a real challenge for Howell, since our running game is non-existent. NE will blitz him to oblivion.
And he'll do a real meat and potatos game: run run run until our defense tires. Nothing fancy.
Deflaters: 17
Comms: 13

On the plus side we have a QB. That’s huge. Really really huge. It allows us to build around someone not have to throw a boat load of picks to try to find one.
Not sold yet on the stats Howell has managed to post thus far.
Our running game is basically an afterthought. No surprise we're ranked 22 in the League in total rushing yards.
Those 10 teams at the bottom of the rushing pile, including us, are below .500, except for PITT and CINCI, which are 4-3. MINN is .500.
And let's not talk about the sacks allowed again. Worst in the League at 41.
So yes, lots of passing yards with Howell averaging 40+ pass attempts per game. Today 52!
This new scheme seems just so...unbalanced.

PHI - 31
WAS - 17
We hired the fat guy from MoneyBall?

This will be the final straw.
PHI: 70
WSH: 9 (three FGs even when down 36-0)
I predict 8 sacks by PHI and three picks by their D.
Our running game barely manages 36 yards total thanks to a couple of 18-yard scampers by Jacoby Brisquett in garbage time .

No they can't. I can want to play power forward for the Knicks all I want. I'm not good enough.
They're not good enough. They can want to do it and they'll still suck at it.
Well then we are royally screwwed bc we sure can't allow another 40 sacks.
QB gonna get injured or Ramsey-ed-

The OL is not good enough to move DLs. So unless they can "trick" a defense with scheme, they can't run the ball.
It sure seems that way.
But most teams insist on running the ball to create some sort of tempo until something "cracks" and the RB gets a big play.
We have zero big runs. Our longest run this season is 27 yards. WHAT?!

How many sacks did Patrick Ramsey take? Either way, I'm getting a bad feeling we're about to destroy another QBs leg.
We're about to pass Ramsey at this point and other dubious franchise records in sacks allowed in one season.
Here's the link again. This is a historically bad group of players and terrible scheming to add --->

The last time I saw an oline this bad is when I played in high school. We had to play the big team down the road and for some reason every large player went to that team. We got steam rolled everytime we played them. Yours included.
But it was fun talking crap in the trenches. I was a TE and the kept me blocking Kevin Greene all night. He left for a little bit and came back and asked “did you miss me?” I said “I didn’t even know you were gone, I was banging your mom and girlfriend behind the bleachers.” I showed him! Then he ran over me and hit our running back for a loss. Good times!
Time to increase that medication, friend.

Because our fun game sucks
Even a mediocre O-line can play run football. Players love it.
Going against all reasonable logic here by passing almost 40 times per game.

Well, we allowed six sacks todays and we're up to 40 in total. Worst in the league by a long shot.
I'm not joking: at this pace we'll beat the `86 Eagles for most sacks allowed in a season with 104.
This line is historically bad, but so is the coaching for a QB that likes to see his routes develop.
Oh, and we're about to eclipse a bunch of our own worst franchise seasons in sacks allowed.
Not that far from the pathetic '98 line actually --> https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/redskins-most-sacks-allowed-in-a-season

I have never seen a team less inclined to run the damn ball. Just 76 yards today.
This is supposed to be the easiest play in football and we just can't get any sort of running game going. It's pathetic.
Seems EB is one of those Xbox Madden fan boys that just insists on winning with 40+ passes every game
even if he knows his method is just wrong and completely unbalanced.

Oh, and one more thing - CHANGE THE DAMN NAME.
The Commies represent nothing more than the death throes of Dan Snyder's ownership and Rivera's losing culture.
I agree man, worst decision in franchise history.
