  1. On just gut instinct, I like Daniels but feel they will draft Maye. I feel Daniels has the instinct, work ethic, and makes those around him better. Hitting WRs in stride and keeps his eyes down field… the game moves slow for him. He will win games. Maye is younger and sturdier and has more of those middle throws, so seems more safe. A more confident draft pick. My worry is that he’s just another “just good enough to lose” in the big games. There are a lot of those guys over the years.
  2. not just draft capital, but a 3rd! With the idea of building around him. His value around the league was less than Howell. That would have been something our old regime would have done.
  3. the Panthers gave up so much to the Bears to move up and then became the worst team in the league and what would have been their 2024 first round pick is the one that will used on the top QB prospects since Burrow
  4. All these one year contracts are interesting. Means we will have a lot of cap space again next year, when the coaches and Peters will have a better evaluation oF the team and know which holes to fill or what “big splash” players to go for along side a second year QB. But also, it’ll give the ones that play well to have the opportunity to sign elsewhere
  5. I don’t think signing Mariota is an indicator of what QB they are interested in this draft. If I was going to guess, I would think they aren’t even sure whom they are leaning towards. Also seems almost all QBs in the post Manning/Brady era can run or scramble at least adequately. Putting in a statuesque QB mid game when the D can just pin their ears back and get after him, isn’t a popular philosophy at this time
  6. Am I the only one who wants to draft a QB at #2 (Daniels) but also start the season with Howell as QB1?
  7. Getting Joe Whitt Jr would actually be a big deal. There is also the positive of this hurting Dallas by taking their DC and our HC knowing their team/schemes/personnel/etc very well
  8. Ahhhh. Okay. It rotates. Thank you. I didn’t take it the wrong way. You were informing me of something. No harm no foul, but it’s still a high value second round pick. But, I stand corrected in my understanding
  9. A lot of talk about trading that top pick to acquire more picks because we have so many needs. But having the 2nd pick on day two is going to be coveted. Teams have all night and the next day thinking about a player they thought was gonna go in the middle of the first round. Carolina probably wants to hold that R2P1 because they don’t have their 1st rounder. So unless there is someone that Washington definitely wants with that R2P2 they could turn it into more picks and maybe a 2025 pick without dropping too much
  10. I also think Chicago will take Caleb Williams. But imagine if they really didn’t need another QB and traded back one spot to Washington. Then one spot to NE. Then one spot to Arizona. Picking up 2nds and next year picks along the way from bottom dweller teams. Could still get MHJR and be loaded with high draft picks.
  11. I think CW is like Mahomes, in the way that at his best, he will be better than anyone. DM is the most prototypical QB and JD is the wildcard with so much upside. For me: 1. Caleb Williams 2. Jayden Daniels 3. Drake Maye Is it worth trading a first and a second to move up one spot? If you are 85% certain he’s Mahomes-esque it is. Otherwise probably not
  12. We are barely ahead of NE in the strength of schedule tie breaker. Could easily go either way
  13. A top five QB in the league is worth more than a top three OT. But on draft day, if you had a choice between a guy that has a 25% chance at being a top five QB or a guy that has 90% chance at being a top three OT, who do you choose? Completely speculative numbers. But, what would you want?
  14. I was wondering the dame thing. NE and Wash would probably swap places if upcoming games haven’t been added in yet
  15. Also, what if we won SB XVIII. Instead of getting trampled by the Raiders. If we won that and everything else was the same, we’d be considered a dynasty. The team of the 80s and it would have been one of the greatest teams ever. It also would have propelled a lot of redskins into the HOF: Theismann, Jacoby, Manley, and Butz more than likely
  16. The Redskins wanted Dan Marino in 1983, but the Dolphins took him with the 27th pick and Washington took Darrel Green with the 28th. Worked out pretty well, but would have been really fun to watch Marino with that line and those WRs
  17. I would be onboard for the black uniforms if the numbers were burgundy with a gold outline as opposed to the opposite (which II is now). Think it’d be a sharp color scheme, not look like the Steelers, and it would be unique in the NFL
  18. It’s too bad, because burgundy numbers with a gold outline would have looked way better and been unique. Missed opportunity.
  19. There was another QB we had that was undersized, without elite arm strength, mobile and athletic (but not a true runner), had a certain moxie and leadership quality, and was always willing to leave it all on the field to win. There is some Joe Theismann in Heinicke (even the unusual last name). And Joey T wasn’t our full time starter until he was 29 years old.
  20. I remember how Joe Morris used to frustrate and tear up the Washington defense...
