These parallels with the Champions League are for the most part imaginary. It’s a competition that was expanded in the 90s, has been around for decades, competing teams earn the right to play and it’s put on by a governing body. Other than all that yeah same thing.

Not only that but if you look at the Milan teams most of their starting 11 wouldn’t start for Leicester. Serie A is godawful in general and if you really look at the squads of the top teams it’s a whole lot of players discarded by the rest of the clubs that joined this sham.

That lacks context. We’re not talking four defensive line first round studs all entering their prime looking for their first big payday in TB. They don’t have a DE that will most likely be the highest paid player at his position and another one that could be somewhere in the top 5. TB is also gearing up for a 2 year run at another Super Bowl which is a different scenario. We’re talking about roughly 70-80 million in cap space (could be more if Allen or Payne start racking up sacks) in one position room too.

I doubt anyone participating in this thing doesn't understand the trade in question never happens and will never happen in real life drafts. I have faith the commissioner can discern between trades made in the spirit of realism and nonsense trades.

Agreed. It's going to be really tough to sign all 4 first rounders to a second contract if they continue their trajectory.

If I'm Montez Sweat I'm not interested in negotiating at present time. If he gets near his ceiling he can ask for money which together with Chase Young's second contract could put us in a spot where we'd have to spend 50+ million on two defensive ends.
