Not sure why people are down on the resigning of Hopkins? Solid move. Not much out there in FA. He's been pretty solid for us last year aside. Plus, I'm sure theyll bring in a couple of young legs this camp to compete.

This is exactly how I'm feeling right now. As FA approaches, I'm becoming more and more pro-Cam. For several reasons as you've stated above. I'd much rather Cam come in knowing the system, knowing the coaches rather than an adjustment period with someone like Mariotta, Darnold or Fitz. Not to mention the draft capital it would take to acquire them. Sign Cam and go heavy adding weapons for him at WR, OL and TE. Would love to see them add both Robinson and Samuel if they could. If Ron, Turner and company want to bring him in to start, I trust the process. No one knows him better.

Thought the same exact thing. I think it's totally plausible. Good for them exploiting that relationship if so but I don't think Ron and company would be persuaded by Jay. They have their own views on both QB's.

Keep on mind that even though things are mutual and I'm sure there will be some cooperation, the Lions organization has final say and hold the cards over Stafford. They're going to do what's best for the organization. If the Pat's offer the best incentive, the Lions will make a business decision. Not to mention that I'm sure they would prefer trading him to a team out of the conference.

Of course he'll go for over 400 yards combined between today and the SB and significantly increase his salary demands, lol.

I agree. RR won't outright release him before the start of the season. He'll find use for him. I think he'll be using a lot less this year but he'll use him. RR is preaching culture. Integrity. Team. Nobody embodies that more than Peterson. He needs him around with the amount of talented youth we have on this team.
