  1. If this guy pulls out a win against Buffalo in New York and he's a big reason why, the hype is going to be out of control lol. All logic goes out the window for me at that point.
  2. The lack of a bull-rush kills Chase, it makes him predictable. Sure, he could use some more counter moves, but a good consistent bull-rush would help him the most. Look at the path Sweat takes to get to the QB on most of his reps, and then look at Chase. He's constantly creating a more difficult path for himself to get to the QB while most of the time Sweat takes an angle straight to the QB. He plays like a speed rusher like Von Miller or Brian Burns but doesn't have the bend or agility those guys have.
  3. Our entire DL grades out pretty good on PFF and our secondary is atrocious. A bunch of players that are in the 40s and 50s. There's something schematically wrong going on with that unit right now and my theory is that buffalo nickel crap we are doing at safety is confusing the entire secondary. You can't trust Collins back there at safety, big plays just seem to happen around him all the time and it isn't a coincidence.
  4. I have a hunch that it won't even matter, we aren't going to have a top dollar QB to pay for on this roster next season. We will be able to pay all of them + McLaurin. Scherff is obviously gone, I actually think the guy could retire early. He just gives me that vibe that he'll retire and go fishing somewhere and we'll never hear from him again. I think Chase is the better play maker, and said this last year too. His pass rushing though leaves a lot to be desired at this level, a lot of the time I see him using his leverage to push himself away from the QB. It's really easy to route Chase far outside and behind the QB, it's like clock-work and has been that way every game of his career. He got an inside pressure against the Giants last game, but those are rare. He needs a legitimate bull-rush, if he had one he would be a much better player. I'm only good on selling high on Sweat if he gets 13+ sacks. If he doesn't at least net a 1st rounder, it's not worth selling him.
  5. Payne should be let go before Sweat. He is good but we just paid our best interior DL. Sweat gets a lot of flak for his comments in the off-season but as far as his play goes, he creates more consistent pressure than Chase does. His bull-rush is miles better than Chase's and he's not washed out of plays nearly as often as Young is. Chase for whatever reason severely lacks power in his pass rush and for someone as big as he is, it's kind of strange. Edit: I feel like the best case scenario for us is a Khalil Mack type of trade for Sweat where we net a 1st rounder for him. He needs a huge season for that to happen though.
  6. Teams aren't game planning for Philly's front like they are for ours. Contrary to belief, I think our front four isn't doing that bad, apart from Chase. It's our secondary and LBs that are getting this defense torn apart right now, they aren't defending the quick pass well at all and there's miscommunication at both of those levels right now.
  7. 3rd down conversion percentage isn't everything. They are moving the ball at will against Dallas and running the ball better against them than they were against us.
  8. Chargers have redzone issues. They score way less than they should.
  9. They look better against Dallas then they did against us.
  10. The refs are doing everything they can to help the Cowboys lol
  11. 10 penalties on the Chargers, every time there's a big play its getting called back. #76 didn't affect that play at all, yet it wipes away a 31 yard game. The NFL is trying to establish things like this as the norm so games are easier to rig.
  12. You guys assume so much after 6 quarters of football. Teams get better or worse over the season all the time.
  13. Can someone please explain to me how Zach Wilson is 9/15 with 91 yards and 4 INTs, yet somehow has a higher QB rating on espn (37.8) than Heinicke had on Thursday night football? It makes zero sense. Edit: nevermind, one was QBR and the other was RTG.
  14. Collins is the Jaylon Smith on our defense. He thinks he's great, the coaching staff thinks he's great, then you put on the film and watch him, and holy ****, he's basically responsible for nearly every big play against the defense. The amount of hype he got from the media was ridiculous, anyone with a brain knew it wasn't going to carry over into game days.
  15. Nobody cares if you are on the bandwagon or not. You can join the Church of Heinicke later, it is okay to be a non believer. I believe you responded to me originally so clearly you have some sort of an issue with my optimism.
  16. Brings me back to my college days looking at this lol. This is early adopters phase I think. ODU Aggie is one of the innovators 😆
  17. I don't know, can you? It makes no sense to argue against something so heavily when it cannot be proven or disproven.
  18. Okay, you can wait around for that sample size to increase, while I have fun and enjoy watching him play. There's really nothing to debate here, just optimism vs skepticism, there is no right or wrong, just believers and non-believers lol. You can convert to the Church of Heinicke whenever you are ready.
  19. I have no shame, he could easily not be a franchise QB but I'm not going to be skeptical for no particular reason either. He has shown more good than bad.
  20. They aren't right or wrong. To me, he's a starter in the league based off his two games, that's all we have to go off of. He deserves the benefit of the doubt with his performances. One game at a time, he is passing the eye test as well as putting up good numbers. I dont need a set number of games to convince myself that there is something there with him. He clearly has some form of magic in his game, its all about him consistently putting it together week in and week out.
  21. I personally think our QB play has been so awful that we have to take the good when it comes, even if it's just one game at a time. For two games Heinicke has looked good and that's exciting. I think our fanbase is so damaged that we expect things like this not to turn out in our favor.
  22. I typically like being a somewhat logical fan, but I refuse to be logical and not get excited about Heinicke. Even if I'm let down, the ride is still going to be fun and in the end we are fans mostly driven by emotion so I see no point in putting a lid on excitement.
  23. Terry is always smiling out there. He reminds of Hines Ward and how he used to always be playing with a ****-eating grin lol. Bradberry I thought did pretty good on Terry but Terry is just too damn good and catches everything. He had a lot of catches in tight space with DBs draped on him last night, definitely the best player on the team.
