  1. The punch on Morrison. The goalie pulling down Altidore's shorts. Just grade-A bozo stuff from el salvador
  2. A punch a bite and a titty twister. Sounds like a pretty good Saturday night if you ask me.
  3. Pitch looks very slow and it almost just cost us...well, along with a poor touch.
  4. Seeing the fee for Morata is somewhere around 60m pounds. Sorry, don't know how to mark the pound, silly american. That's 15m less than lukaku. If true, much better business than i initially thought. As far as Auba goes, he's a fantastic talent. But there's a couple things to consider: he's 28 so there's less sell-on value. Next, he fits a very certain play style, and requires good service. He relies on his pace, which is great he's got loads like Desean Jackson, but at some point that's going to go. IMO he doesn't fit the playstyle of a lot of BPL teams, many of whom require someone for link up play and some back to the goal prowess, which PAE doesn't really have. All that said yea in this market 70m for him isn't the worst.
  5. http://www.chelseafc.com/ Lesser fee than Lukaku (by mere margins) so essentially...if the papers are to be believed....Utd got our first choice striker and we got theirs. Something tells me these twitter ITK guys know absolutely nothing. Gotta be the fault of the millennials!
  6. Was just coming to say this as well. That's an outrageous fee for him. but, I think he's better than Lukaku (or at least fits Conte's profile for striker better) so the fee isn't too unreasonable given Lukaku's price. I hope he bangs in a hat trick against Mou. The Sandro deal is interesting. It's been reported it's dead, alive, done, never happened...literally all over the place. I think he would be a fantastic upgrade to Alonso who I think had an underrated season... Conte just signed a new 2 year contract. Something tells me Roman guaranteed him some new toys
  7. It's a point of discussion on our board. The general consensus is our Youth Academy is essentially a revenue stream, like shirt sales or tv money...as opposed to a developmental resource. We have won numerous youth cups and trophies over the years, but are happy to sell off prospects for 5-10m a pop. We are first in revenue sales from transfers so far this summer by a decent margin. And our overall net spend was the lowest (granted this was prior to the Bakayoko signing so I'm not sure where it is now). Roman I believe is trying to recoup some of the 1Billion he has thrown at the club. EVen Russian oligarchs I guess have some semblance of pride when it comes to losing money. One of the things Conte said when he came here was that he wanted organic growth at the club and he has certainly paid more attention to the youth teams. We'll see how it goes...
  8. I would think Sturridge would be your first choice, but the man is a bit of a nancy. No offense to Nancy's the world over, but he just can't get over the lumps. I never thought Firmino was an out and out front man...but I'm not sure he's played better on the wing either. Klopp is good though, he will find his best position. Solanke would be interesting...I wonder how he would fare getting regular first team minutes. That's a lot to ask of a 19 year old
  9. @Gibbs Hog Heaven That would be my preferred signing and if it's true I will be very, very happy. I think Real wanted to start a bidding war for him but then everyone went out and signed someone else. WHo is playing up front for pool? You guys planning on Origi taking over the reigns or sticking with Firmino?
  10. We are getting dangerously close to Michy Batshuayi leading the Chelsea line at least until January. While a nice talent, having Batshuayi and Remy as our top striker options would be like nate sudfield and myself leading the redskins offense. If there's any positive thing to come from it though, I have a great Michy avatar I can switch to.
  11. Adam Schefter is the most insufferable person on TV. What a smug, punchable face.
  12. I'm going to show my ignorance here, and say I had no idea Martinique was even a place. I had to look it up. The USA is literally like, 10,000x the size of Martinique and yet here we are with our "futures" squad squeaking out a win.
  13. Off you go Acosta. Another bang average performance. Why he is being hyped so much is beyond me. And lol @ guzan. What was that??
  14. Is salah with Liverpool yet? Always thought there was a player there when at Chelsea but just young, inconsistent, and not ready for the physicality of PL. kind of like a cuadrado you know there's talent there but they just couldn't handle the grind. It will be interesting to see how he fares this go-round!
  15. Yea, auba has a bit of cavani syndrome.
  16. I do not think Chelsea are realistically in the hunt for him. He is not the type of player Conte would want, I don't think, at least given the way we played last year. Auba does not hold the ball up well and doesn't link up well with teammates. He has an incredible nose for goal and obviously everyone is worried of his pace for 90 minutes...something you just can't teach. BvB have come out and flat out said he is available for ~70m, the fact that lots of clubs aren't lining up around the corner to sign him is worrisome on its own. I will admit though, in a land where lukaku goes for 75m getting Auba for less seems like a steal.
  17. Much much much better piece of business for bayern. But I ask again, where will he play? Thiago, vidal, kimmich, tolisso, all arguably (thiago and vidal definitely) ahead of him in midfield. Will he play as a left winger with Costa and Ribery both falling out of favor? It will all be very interesting to see. What do you think @RichmondRedskin88
  18. Hell if I know. Llorente has been linked but if we go into CL footie with llorente leading our line things will get embarrassing. My response was more about morata and Danilo both signing for Chelsea. I hold out hope morata can get done. Otherwise, there are a few rumors about a couple kids from serie a: belotti and Keita balde diao. You are right though, from all the talk there is no hope for costa here anymore, both himself and conte blundered this thing from day 1 of the offseason.
  19. For the life of me I still do not know where james' natural position is. Is he a winger? A center mid? Attacking mid? Center forward? He's played striker some. People like that are versatile and have loads of "potential." But at some point you have to hone your craft. The fact that ZZ doesn't have him as a starter tells me all I need to know. Arguably in system made for james' skill set and he has players like asensio picked over him regularly. James is lucky bale is injured so often otherwise he'd get no playtime. 80m is a ridiculous price for him, still riding the World Cup coat tails if you ask me. .....all that said if Chelsea drop the cash for him I'm all in...for the shirt sales alone
  20. I watched Glow with my lady friend. Must say, it's not the type of show that I usually like but I actually would give it a 7.5/10. The nudity doesn't hurt, but the story ain't so bad either. I barely recognized Alison Brie...looked so very different from her days on Community. That was her prime, imo.
  21. not happening, as much as I'd like to bring Morata in. What's the french media saying about bakayoko? Any truth to Manure stepping in? In other news Antonio Rudiger comes in and offers versatility and competition if nothing else. Played well for Germany youngsters this summer...loads of potential but a fairly large injury history. Traing at Cobham starts today and Diego has been "excused." Au revoir, Costa. Edit: thought you were @FrFan when I quoted you there my bad
  22. Agree. At this point, losing Costa is going to hurt. The most like-for-like replacement at the moment would be Morata who brings a whole slew of question marks: 1. Can he lead an attacking line? He has never held the number 1 striker spot 2. Can he live up to the price tag? Let's go with a conservative 75m that Lukaku just signed for. Massive price/pressure 3. Does he ever reach his potential? Lot's of players have potential, very few get all the way there. He's shown flashes now in both Serie A and La Liga. 4. Does Conte want him? Signs are pointing to yes, but honestly you never know with these things. He's certainly more skilled than both Costa and Lukaku--he can dribble with his head up which is a start ! But both Costa and Lukaku can bang them in the PL, not something every striker in the world can do, no matter their potential. Losing (or gaining as manure has done) a guaranteed 20 pl goal scorer is big time stuff.
  23. I am hoping the opposite and that it will lead Chelsea to move on toward Morata, who I believe is the superior player. Most of what I'm reading says Chelsea are still sour over the Stones saga and won't do business that they aren't comfortable with. Asking 100m for Lukaku was never going to happen. But, SOMEONE I feel has put money down on Lukaku and Everton are sure he is going for a massive fee. They are spending the money like they've already got it
  24. I can't believe the money that gets thrown around these days. Soooo much money in the PL it's absurd. Record fees being broken for clubs all over the place. Lukaku, is not in my opinion, worth anything over 60m. A bullish striker with a nose for goals, but lacks technicality and linkup play, has a bad attitude, and doesn't lead a line with aggression. Interesting that Mourinho, the person who pushed him out at Chelsea, will sign him for so much to go to OT. Surely when Lukaku signs and mourinho holds a press conference, he will say it was the club that sold Lukaku in the first place and he always had great aspirations for him at Chelsea. Two face Mourinho...or you know, Judas as some fans love to call him.
