  1. That’s disgusting, and I’m not insane enough to believe EB remains as OC. But I’m sure there’s some truth to how this impacts filling out a staff.
  2. He literally drug this out through the most important part of the Lions season, only to choose he wants to be a deputy after their season ended. He gets zero credit from me for foregoing the final interview.
  3. So bad. I went from rooting for the Lions to actively hating their guts and pray this softie that would rather be second fiddle and coach Goff never gets what he wants.
  4. I do not respect his decision at all and hopefully Jared Goff prevents him from getting his Super Bowl. What an absolute joke. Eff this guy forever.
  5. @Skinsinparadise I get it for sure, never mistaked you for a Quinn guy. 🤣 I just think he has an easier road ahead of him in convincing owners and GM’s that he’s the guy because of all the experience he has, both coaching and interviewing. He can speak from experience the way others can’t and while he’s older, he’s not in his late 60’s, 70’s like Pete and Bill. I don’t even dislike Quinn, just when we have the ability to start from scratch like this I’d much prefer we do it with an up and coming offensive mind.
  6. I assume Quinn is a strong interview because he’s done it more than any of these guys. He’s also old, but not a dinosaur. He’s proven that he can be a head coach in this league. That said, easily the most lackluster meh hire of everyone left.
  7. It made all the sense in the world for the 49ers to give up their bonus 3rd for the chance Chase recognizes what’s in front of him and buys in. Just like it made all the sense in the world that we took the 3rd and moved on. Chase though has proven he’s a lost cause. When you get shipped to a SB contender with a contract to play for and still put out lazy tape, it’s safe to say he’s never going to get it.
  8. A. Seattle is annoying for surprisingly canning Carroll and entering the coaching chase. B. The above lacked class. C. I think they only do this because they have someone, likely Johnson, that they desperately want. Hopefully, Johnson doesn’t get the warm and fuzzies based on how they kicked the coach who delivered a Super Bowl to the curb. I also have to think that selecting a rookie QB at #2 is more enticing than inheriting Geno Smith.
  9. I think he’s a prime example of a guy that shouldn’t “keep being who he is”. As a dude, sure. But he’s too emotional on gameday and makes rash aggressive decisions. Hes got to learn to reign it in and be strategic.
  10. Dude, he hits on 20 in blackjack. There’s aggressive and there’s Campbell. There’s having faith and there’s being wreckless. Dude is wreckless.
  11. I don’t think Johnson is going to deplete the Lions staff to the extent some of you guys do. Of course he’s taking some with him, but it’s a bad look to just up and take pretty much every key piece of the offensive staff from a head coach you have a lot of respect for, that put you in the position to become a head coach yourself.
  12. I’m of the belief that all this can’t interview X until Y stuff is window dressing for the appearance of an equal and fair process. The reason why folks are reporting Johnson is a done deal is because it likely is and he already knows how he intends to fill out his staff. Beyond the equal employment angle is the fact that they don’t want Super Bowl week clouded by news that the coordinators coaching the Super Bowl are immediately headed elsewhere.
  13. This is a wild take, that would require 2 guys to put their egos to the side in an unprecedented way. That said, I want to hate it but I can’t.
  14. Be interesting to see how much truth there is to the Vikings moving up and what they intend to trade to do so. Last I heard JJ desire to sign a new deal in Minny was tied to Kirk staying. Obviously, they can use the tag but do you want to use it on a guy who may not want to experience growing pains with a rookie?
  15. I’ve been all over the place and still am. I was big on Daniels but the deeper I dive in, the more I step back. What’s bothered me about Maye is something that workouts and interviews can’t measure, and thats the ability to step up and carry when needed most - and I just haven’t seen it. To be fair, Caleb Williams suffers a bit of that too. I realize there’s no perfect prospect, and we have to take our shot, just really can’t get gung-ho about any of the 3.
  16. I really don’t have a preference. I trust that our leadership will make the right decisions. But the way some tell it, Williams and Maye are first ballot hall of famers.
  17. Folks speaking with so many absolutes this time of year, it’s always interesting to see how it shakes out after workouts and interviews. It scares me when some folks are so absolute about players when I’ve seen them do this song and dance and be wrong so many times. I understand the misses are more than the hits, even for the best of them. Just the “X is this and will be that” proclamations get so carried away this time of year.
