  1. What’s wild to me is DC’s started deploying the same strategy used against this team on the Eagles. Absolutely no answers for the blitz. They had to know it was coming, after both Wink and Quinn blitzed the hell out of them down the stretch to great success. Got Jalen Hurts looking mad average. How these OC’s fail to have their teams prepared to counter this stuff is beyond me.
  2. Robert standing up there after that Tampa game talking about Peyton Manning don’t play well when his guys don’t play well still ranks highly on the foot-in-mouth charts for this org. And man, there was so much tape indicting him, showing all the stuff he couldnt process and failed to hit.
  3. As we turn the page to a new regime, I recall thinking it’s hard to blame Robert for being a Robert the way he was empowered by ownership here. 22 years old, seemingly with the world at his fingers. But it’s wild watching him so many years later continue with revisionist history, even with a budding career as a media personality.
  4. Ben Johnson is my #1 by a large margin and has been. But this offense is loaded with talent, to the extent I’m looking up their FO. Strange setup, where the highest personnel title is AGM.
  5. You are right about this and Flacco Fever almost had me forgetting how repugnant their FO is for making that deal with the perv.
  6. This is one of those games where it’s hard to root for any team because both have great stories. Man, I look forward to the Ders being a great story.
  7. That Flacco and Stroud 250+ YDs / 1.5TD parlay boosted to +624 looking like I wish that I bet more than $10 on it right now. 🤣
  8. The top list is PFF. The fact is Howell did play terribly down the stretch and it sunk whatever good he had going for him. The culmination of all those hits, hopeless season for a hopeless regime, against the toughest stretch of the schedule, it was inevitable.
  9. I don’t find any of those #’s surprising. There are those moments that allow you to see the future. Once Sam drove down to cut the lead to 1 score just before the half on Thansgiving and the defense immediately gave up a TD in less than a minute, I knew that was the beginning of the end. Even as someone who liked Sam, I only expected things to get worse and worse down the stretch.
  10. For me the difference is that I was 22 when Joe came back and still very green to how the world and the NFL worked. In my mind, we were instantly going to be playing for championships until he decided to leave again. 20 years later and wiser, I know that nothing is more important than the very top of the organization. This level of renewed hope is just another level for me.
  11. This is very similar to the euphoria I felt when NBC4 reported that Joe Gibbs was coming back in 2004. I haven’t shed a tear yet, but the feeling is the same. It’s surreal that we’ve went from among the least desirable franchises with absolutely no hope, to a desirable professional outfit that goes out and lands the biggest fish for the most important non-playing position in all of pro sports. It’s like a fairy tale, and I never want it to end.
  12. First of all, let me be clear: We have to utilize this opportunity to draft a QB, however that shakes out. But be fair. Same people talking about Draft X and getting Y is automatic have said that umpteen other times and been wrong as hell. Not just at QB either, that’s actually a route we don’t tend to go. But I’ve watched posters here tout so many guys as can’t miss guarantees that miss like a MF.
  13. I don’t see a world where the Bears opt to keep Fields. I also don’t see a world where Caleb Williams goes anywhere but #1 to either the Bears or whoever they trade the pick to.
  14. The dilemma is that if you go MHJr or trade down, which QB do you take? I had taken a liking to Penix, but the injury history coupled with how beat he looked the other night, it’s hard to hitch your wagon to this guy. McCarthy, I just don’t see it. Nix, meh. As unconvinced I am by the top 3, the next 3 intrigue me none.
  15. It is hard to believe and it also isn’t. Dan made it easy to forget that this was once a premier staple franchise of the NFL. I’m sure there is a level of prestige associated with the shot to rebuild this franchise into what it once a was now that an adult owns it.
  16. All along, I just haven’t had the warm and fuzzies for Maye, but went back and watched some tape and read up on him, as some of our respected posters here think very highly of him. But I just can’t help not loving how he played down the stretch of the season. I don’t see many anticipation throws. At this point, I just want to select whoever Adam Peters and Ben Johnson decide is best to develop for this franchise.
  17. Let’s be honest, how many guys have the secret sauce to sports ownership? What we know we have is a guy with experience, leading a group of investors - some of which have a lot invested in this area. Simply judging from the day he took over to now, what more can we ask for? He’s deployed a team that is acting at light speed to get the best the business has to offer to lead our organization. He’s clearly not a douche bag. All that is good enough for me, particularly given there was a point where I thought I’d die before Dan let go of this team. There is no telling how successful he will be, but he exhibits the traits of someone capable of building a winner and he’s not embarrassing to boot.
  18. Probably a little bit of injury, and playing for sinking ships gets old. But not sure really.
  19. All that money in the middle of our DL and they can’t exceed 66 PFF. Obviously PFF isn’t the end all be all, but it jives with what many of us were seeing most of the season.
  20. Obviously Stroud > Howell but the Texans have infinitely better coaching and ran the ball about 100 more times than EB did. They didn’t have help excuses can be very legit. Which is why it’s imperative and looks very likely, we’ll have a top notch front office and coach that brings the help.
  21. I think the real bombshell in the Allen interview was one that would send VoR’s BP soaring. That he and the players loved playing for Jay, who had a great locker room culture. That the losing culture came from the higher-ups.
  22. So that smoke in NY actually was a fire. Interesting, considering they’ve only really been competitive due to the defense. Although, it seems Wink is all blitz. When he smells blood in the water at QB, he’s sending guys from everywhere. Not sure how diverse he can be.
  23. I know some folks were worried about canning Ron and the gang sooner than today to get a head start, but I think it’s rather clear that all of this has been in motion behind the scenes for quite some time. Harris likely told Ron this show was over in a respectful way weeks/months ago.
