  1. The Raiders have that shiny new stadium going for them, and that’s about it. Would be a crime to lose Peters to them, don’t see it happening.
  2. When you make a comment like water isn’t wet, the onus is on you to provide the facts to back it up. I don’t subscribe to PFF but when numbers have been posted, he’s at the bottom or near the bottom of all corners. For good reason, having watched him play. It’s one thing to suggest that you believe he has the potential to be an average to above average corner, than it is to say that he already is that. If he was average to above average, we wouldn’t even be talking about him.
  3. I’m not here to have a my football acumen is bigger than yours argument. By no means is your condescending by way of educating post warranted or valid. I’m simply giving you the facts that Forbes is not currently by any measure an average to above average corner. Forbes stinks, stank, stunk by all measures. I am hopeful that the new regime can salvage something out of our first round pick. Average would be great!
  4. Thank you Ron, for adding to the news cycle here shortly, where Mike Silver pretends to be reporting your list of excuses from sources other than you.
  5. I don’t think there is a chance in the world that we get lucky enough to land Caleb at 2. At this time, I’d bet he goes 1 to Chicago or Chicago trades down and gets a kings ransom in exchange for the right to draft Williams. All 3 of these guys are projects, the risk level varies though. I’d much prefer roll the dice on a talent like Daniels over Maye, higher risk = higher reward.
  6. Not just distrusted, but least hyped. I actually liked Davis, and was hopeful for him - he at least looked the part. I was on a golf trip in OC the first night of the draft and we went to a bar to eat and watch. Most people in the bar were like “who?” when we made the selection for Forbes. Then they show the tape and see the highlights of a baby deer and it only led to more looks of “huh, what, why?”.
  7. Define “a lot worse”. Sure, maybe a handful of guys are ranked lower than him - but he’s been an absolute tragedy. I don’t think we can afford to cut him, but I have zero hope he’s going to be a player in this league.
  8. It’s not that at all. We haven’t even hit that point, there’s still so much more to learn about all the prospects. I do think declaring that Maye and a legit coach = run the division for a decade is a wild call at this juncture.
  9. I didn’t say he was a bad guy, just not good enough of a guy to be worthy of getting the good guy caveat before saying he sucks at running a football team.
  10. Even as someone who took up for Rivera a good bit over his first 3 seasons, all the folks adding the caveat that he’s a good person irks me. I’ve been so unimpressed with him as a person over the last year. Going out of his way to compliment Dan on his way out coupled with his arrogance about this team, and the constant scapegoating of players changed the narrative on him for me. I’m not saying he kicks puppies or anything, but meh on getting an * for being a good person.
  11. I feel like the I just want to beat Dallas folks are too scorned from high draft picks squandered. At this juncture, it’s all about value - and the gap in value between pick 2 and 5 or 6 is huge. The draft slot is ultimately an asset, an asset this team sorely needs.
  12. The audacity to deploy a more conventional balance of run/pass after everyone screamed about it all season long, in a game that is incredibly costly for us to win, is on another level. This isn’t the Dallas B team, this is a Dallas team that wants and needs to win.
  13. I’m pretty sure he made a lot more than that. Reportedly, 5 years $42.5M.
  14. No doubt. I imagine that dumping Trent and going with Haskins were items he agreed to when he accepted the job with Dan. But still a mistake, Dan was courting him - he should have been clear that a full court press on getting Trent back was necessary and that Haskins simply wasn’t that dude - but honestly Rivera probably didn’t know that given what we know about him and QB’s now.
  15. Seeing that list with Kyle Smith on it just kind of brings home how Ron sunk his tenure before it even got started here. Parted ways with KOC in favor of bringing in Norv’s son. Stated publicly that first ballot HOF Trent Williams needed to prove himself, as opposed to getting on bended knee and kissing his ass in an attempt to repair the relationship. Inherited #2 pick and chose Chase Young, bypassing QB and giving Haskins the nod. Parted with Kyle Smith in favor of the freaking Marties. Looking back, he went out of his way to chase off or squander the majority of good things he inherited.
  16. For as checked out as Ron has been, I have to imagine Mayhew and Hurney were very prevalent in who we drafted and acquired via FA.
  17. I’m not here to combat the narrative on Sam as I’m aware that he’s taken several steps backward, to the point I’m unsure if he can even be saved. But @HTTRDynasty’s post above yours is very damning regarding EB’s offense and correlates to your post. There’s not a ton of tape prior to December where Sam is missing a bunch of open reads or bailing from clean pockets. There’s been nothing there, which is why for as much as I like Sam, knew his demise was coming. You can only shake it off for so long before you start seeing ghosts and lose confidence. Bottom line is Bienemy stinks, and I want him nowhere near anyone we draft.
  18. Justin Fields is very likely to bet on himself in hopes of garnering a (near) top of market deal as opposed to signing an extension at a discount.
  19. Foolish to trade a 2nd to get a 1 year look at Fields before having to decide on making him rich. Hard pass.
  20. I heard parts of RR’s presser, particularly the parts being discussed here. He’s progressively gotten worse behind the mic like every coach Dan has ever hired. But man, he’s even got the patented mumbling, taking things off topic responses to questions like these. Shell of his former self to say the least. To watch his dignity and pride deteriorate to where they are today was a sad sight to behold.
  21. I’ve been coming around on Penix Jr. prior to yesterday, and the more I watch have been scratching my head why he’s not talked about as a first rounder. I’ve seen reports of weak arm strength but the tape doesn’t really show me that.
  22. I’m not a Purdy hater at all but why wouldn’t Purdy stand a chance here? It’s pretty simple. Kyle Shanahan >>>>>>>> EB. Niners Roster >>>>>>> Our roster.
