  1. I’ve not read that Caleb is his dad’s puppet or anything like that. But everyone would prefer if a prospects dad is just a regular dad.
  2. I get everyone has PTSD, but chill the eff out. I’d be more alarmed if the guy who just spent $6B on a franchise for a sport he’s never delved in didn’t attend the combine or QB interviews.
  3. So Peters was on G&D this afternoon and addressed the $90M in cap space and made it clear they won’t be spending it all this off season. Made it clear to anyone who was thinking about taking shortcuts to the top, they won’t be doing that this offseason. They know better than to use the term “rebuild” as it’s ticket sale suicide, but make no bones about it…this is going to be a rebuild.
  4. I went to go check him out after reading that. I even saw where he tried to say that it’s not a knock, that Rudolph came out in a big QB draft or whatever. Fact of the matter is Rudolph stinks and when you comp a consensus top 3 pick as less than Rudolph, you lack seriousness and appear hungry for attention. …and I have my own reservations about Maye, and really every QB in this draft.
  5. There is no way Dan offered EB a spot on the staff, he likely provided the professional courtesy of interviewing him for a spot on the staff. It’s all semantics. EB likely had too much pride and ego to even entertain such a scenario in the first place, hence “I just chose not to stay”.
  6. I’ve been thinking all along that in the QB desert that is the NFL, there are teams who will be intrigued with Sam. I think folks here have too much recency bias and bypass just how god awful his ‘development’ was.
  7. EB not only deployed the worst ‘strategy’ I’ve ever seen with a young QB, but now has the worst parting statements I’ve ever heard. She didn’t break up with me, I broke up with her. There is nothing I could have done better. 😂 For anyone still wondering why this dude had umpteen interviews and never got hired, see the above. Phew.
  8. I’m not sold on any QB on the draft as they all have concerns for me. Williams, mostly personality/leadership/character. Maye, failure to play big in big games, some questionable mechanics. Daniels, body and very little tape of NFL throws. My faith is in Peters and the gang to figure out which QB available to them is the guy for us. They all have warts.
  9. $8M after agents and taxes and everything else that comes with playing pro football, there’s a lot worse stories of dudes that have blown a lot more than that. Besides the fact that you really have no idea what his life, health issues and everything else has been like. Pretty callous to choose this as a platform to play the “sorry for your bad decisions” card.
  10. I’m not saying his arm isn’t strong enough to play in the pros. What I’m saying is that to be effective, you have to have the confidence and ability in your reads and arm to fit the ball into tight windows. That’s not something I’ve seen enough of from Daniels.
  11. Have you though? What’s missing for me is stuffing it in tight windows, which is one of the most important aspects of being a legit QB in the NFL.
  12. As a mere observer that’s not sold on either Maye or Daniels, this is wildly pot calling the kettle black. Literally every single negative about Daniels is combatted by you guys/gals, to the extent that not only is it not a negative, it’s actually a positive. It comes across as if JD is the greatest prospect in decades, who has practically no flaws. At least the Maye folks admit the footwork/accuracy is sketchy and chalk it up to something he can get better at. Team JD concedes nothing. 🤣
  13. I’d argue that being obsessed with the president of business ops being fired is much more indicative of battered fan syndrome than those of us that couldn’t care less.
  14. You seem to be confusing indifference to “wanting to keep him or give him a chance”. Most of us just find no significance to him staying or going.
  15. In reality, the majority of team names across every sport are generic and lame. The identity is what the team itself is, not the name of the team. Sure, there is a demo that is very loud about being upset with the name change. But I wouldn’t confuse loud to mean it’s the majority. The challenge for the Harris group is not figuring out how to appease the minority of fans that were going to hate the name change, no matter what it was changed to. The challenge beyond gaining new fans, is getting the indifferent to care about this team again which only happens with winning games, star power and a stadium.
  16. I don’t recall Rivera or EB crushing pressers like these guys (Quinn and Whitt). I get your overall point, it’s the honeymoon phase where we haven’t grown to dislike anything about these guys yet. But I gotta give the nod to these guys easily over the prior regime.
  17. What many of these hires say to me is exactly what I thought when we hired Quinn, no egos involved - strictly about building the best staff possible and meshing ideas. It’s possible all these brains in the room could lend itself to dysfunction, which makes it imperative to have a guy like Quinn overseeing all of it, and not being worried about installs and playcalling.
  18. Perhaps that’s unfair to Daniels, but in regards to Griffin - it was primarily a one read or run offense. I would expect any OC to simplify the game for Daniels as well, and build from there.
  19. I’m always concerned about everything until I see it come to fruition. That goes for every player and coach. I just think the personnel and makeup of the team is so incredibly TBD right now, that we aren’t likely to learn much about where Kliff tends to take the offense. Personnel will really make or break what this team does.
