  1. This much I’m confident in. Some of our fans are so in the tank for one or the other, they are setting themselves up to be devastated. Particularly those with the vitriol for Daniels, and the entirely fabricated narratives that the brain trust will take him as a ‘win now’ move where AP succumbs to the coaches wishes. I prefer Maye and still not convinced of all the smoke around Daniels. But if they do select Daniels, I believe it’s because they think he’s the best long term prospect, right or wrong.
  2. I’m fine with either Maye or Daniels, but man I’ll be pissed if we trade up to take Paul. I’m not even sure where that rumor came from. But after watching his brother wobble and jiggle all over the field and fail to make blocks, I’m out on the Paul brothers as a whole.
  3. Hot Italian sausage, split with casing removed, and seared on the Blackstone.
  4. I haven’t even mentioned McCarthy because to me him at #2 is about as likely as Chicago passing on Williams. Maye is a slight favorite for me, solely based on everyone saying Daniels is a foregone conclusion.
  5. In a way I’m happy that neither guy seems generational to me, hence my inability to be all-in on either player. This puts me in position to simply hope for the best no matter who it is. Some of you guys are going to be absolutely miserable. With every “it’s looking like the Commanders will take Jayden Daniels” blurb coming out of the media, the further I lean that we will be taking Drake Maye though.
  6. There’s literally nothing to suggest that our coaches are in the bag for Daniels, nor Peters is succumbing to pressure from them to draft him.
  7. I have all the respect in the world for Keim, but at this point in the game, I see no reason why anyone would leak to him where guys sit on the board. I see more reason to feed the media with false information from a strategic perspective.
  8. We always load up our pasta with veg when making any spaghetti-ish dish. We use the Barilla protein penne, and load up with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, zucchini and lean ground beef to fill up the plate without as many carbs.
  9. No matter what I do, I can’t get the color I’d prefer grilling over high heat on a pellet grill, even with 100% charcoal pellets. Still tastes great though. Filet seasoned with a mixture of Holy Cow, and Kinders Cowboy Butter and Caramelized Onion Butter rubs. Onions, shrooms, and garlic finished with W sauce and garlic butter when they came off, and corn with roasted potatoes.
  10. I’m trying to remember a time there was so much being said in the rumor mill. My gut says the overwhelming majority of it is BS. So many narratives being thrown at the wall, none of it sticks.
  11. Audacity level: 💯 Are you really pretending that you utilize the board solely for discussion and debate, without mocking people? C’mon man.
  12. I don't know of anyone who claims to be smarter or know more than FO people. It's a completely bad faith way to belittle people's opinions. Because that's what they are, opinions. Opinions about football players. You should be able to express the opinion that a move could be a mistake without someone straw manning the claim that you think you know everything. There are people here who simply express opinions about football players in the way you’ve proclaimed here and nobody is talking about that. Thats what the board is for. I have nothing against strong opinions by folks who take the hobby of scouting football players seriously. In fact, @Skinsinparadise is a shining example of how to do that in a way that doesn’t ooze delusion and arrogance. There’s a difference between developing strong opinions on a player and just flat out indicting Peters and the top brass with all sorts of completely made up stuff like their decisions are all about trying to win now, or that Quinn wants a running QB because it’s harder for him to defend, or that if they don’t select Maye it’s a bad process no matter how each player turns out, and any other made up narratives like that. Conveniently enough you mention several players you were right about, where others were wrong, without any mention of those you got wrong. We all get some right and get some wrong. The best of the best that do this for a living get a lot wrong. Again, there’s a difference between being having a strong opinion based on analysis and just outright making up narratives- which is what my point has been all along. There are some very strong statements built on flimsy foundations running amuck in here and I’m not talking about being concerned with Daniel’s pressure to sack rate or Maye’s footwork.
  13. You seem to really take my comments on this subject very personal, as if you read my posts and feel that you are being targeted. I’m aware that there are folks in every organization, across all industries, that don’t belong there - including the NFL for sure. I said this earlier and I’ll say it again, I have no qualms with folks who enjoy scouting for hobby, and talk passionately about their analysis. But there’s a line where it becomes laughable just how overly confident and arrogant some folks can be.
  14. I take no issue with folks putting their hat in the ring and having strong opinions about anything. But I can’t help but laugh at the arrogance of folks who haven’t so much as drafted a kid in Pop Warner standing on a pedestal talking about it’s their way or the highway.
  15. That’s really not my point at all. I could name several times where I’ve been right and the scouts and GM’s have been wrong myself. But we are at a point where some posters will literally claim they are right, even if they are wrong, because their choice is the right choice via the right process. And all sort of other mental gymnastics. Posters I’ve watched die on hill after hill over players and still pretend they are alive
  16. It’s wild to me that we legitimately have folks in their basement that think they are better suited as general managers than guys who have ate, slept, and played football since they were embryos. The delusion is unreal.
  17. My primary point was that neither give me the warm and fuzzies. Not that giving me the warm and fuzzies is a proven method for determining QB success. I realize we are fortunate to be in this position and I like who we’ve got making the pick. At the end of the day, I’m going to be very hopeful about whoever we draft. Just for whatever reason, I can’t join the fray and be gung ho about either guy.
  18. I’ve been wrong about a lot of QBs. Just because I’m not lathered up for either guy, doesn’t mean that I believe they are destined to stink. I lean Maye because he’s the physical prototype and made the most big time throws. I should love him, but I just dont.
  19. 2274 pages of fan on fan crime regarding the position, and I’m still not excited about Maye, Daniels or any other QB in the draft. I know I should be excited, given the stars aligning to put us in this position. But for both players my list of concerns is equal to if not longer than the positives.
  20. I’m sure some folks roll their eyes at this, but I thought the same- trading Sam signaled Maye to me. Just too awkward to have both in the room. Thats the only legitimate reason I can think of to move Sam.
  21. Given my son’s addiction to Nandos, I made the Nandos chicken sandwich. Boneless thighs marinated in Nandos hot sauce, fresh garlic and avocado oil. Topped with cheddar, griddled pineapple, pickles, arugula and spicy mayo.
  22. Sure, fans have more information at their fingertips than ever before. There are more tools to scout with, and more metrics to track the success and failure of GMs/scouts. But those GMs/acouts still have more information about these players than any fan could ever dream of. And even the best of them have a lot of misses, even with all that information at their disposal. We’re literally watching fans switch up on the best GM candidate we could have landed, 3 months into his tenure, because of noise during lying season that says he’s going to select the QB they don’t want. For all sorts of ridiculous reasons. It’s wild.
