  1. Leno has been a pro bowler, Lucas is a journeyman who started 1/3 of the games he had in his career last season. I'm satisfied with him, but Leno is an upgrade
  2. considering Guice was younger and we hoped he was the future I think I understand the logic. We dressed three RBs. The starter, the third down back and the backup. The backup had to be able to do a little of both the starter and the third down back
  3. those guys we were signing off the street weren't stepping in and being successful, we were signing them to backup our newly elevated starters and those guys were either bombing hard or also getting hurt
  4. we have no way of knowing what the cap will be next year after some recovery from the pandemic and McCain, Leno an Kerrigan may be all on one year deals
  5. money could be tight, but we may choose to I used their cap manager tool and they still had Caleb Brantley on the roster. And it's not just dead money, cause I was able to cut him and get it down I was able to save almost 4 mil by cutting loose Christian, Martin, Everett and Apke using their cap manager tool. I know Everett's a special team leader but with McCain on the roster Reaves would be spending more time on teams of Forestt would be cheaper than Everett
  6. we generally carried nine to ten OL and activated seven prior to that rule
  7. how is that different then what I said?
  8. I think we may simply not have a sure fire proven returner. That as long as our guy can catch the ball that'll be good enough 48th has to be OL
  9. just looking it up and Adam Humpries has quite a few punt returns in his career. That could be the reason we brought him in
  10. modern NFL? I expect us to keep six
  11. looking further into Bates, his 12 catches did come in only three games, and Boise State played only seven Maybe we plan on playing a lot of three receiver sets, so our primary concern is competent backup
  12. as a fourth shouldn't he be better though? he's one of those types of TE's who can line up at FB so that might be why they're interested in him
  13. I don't think Schweitzer slides out to tackle, he slides in to center. Unless we draft another OL I have to figure Larsen would be the tenth guy. Whether he goes to PS, since it's now possible to have a few guys with unlimited time in the league, depends on if he'd sign
  14. Right now I think our OL looks like this: Lucas, Flowers, Roullier, Scherff, Moses, Charles, Schweitzer, Cosmi, Ismael and from there maybe a couple guys on PS, including possibly a vet
  15. we're gonna keep six, so one of those guys will probably stick. After all, don't think that us signing DeAndre Carter as a free agent means he's going to make the team The locks are McLaurin, Samuel and Humphries. After that Brown here and Gandy Golden are probably next most likely, almost guarenteed. But Sims, Sims, and Harmon will probably fight Carter and Wright for the last spot and might beat them
  16. Brandon Scherff will be a free agent again next year most likely. Morgan Moses 31 and in the last year of his contract and we could save 7.5 million by cutting him. Charles played a couple games on the right side in college. So I feel like right now we're setting up so we have multiple options in the future, and Charles is right there I mean let's face it with the current set up of the rosters with access to PS players on gameday and an extra player active if it's an OL, the NFL is kind of encouraging people to hang onto ten OL. To keep a job on the current roster next year he basically has to beat out Geron Christian, David Sharpe, and Wes Martin
  17. looking around, the worst I've seen Davis ranked is fifth of sixth best LBs and the guys ranked ahead of him in those places didn't get picked in the first
  18. I am not a college football fan so I don't know. But what I do know is that in the past few months the talk on these guys has been all over the place, with Mac Jones at one point being considered barely better than Kyle Trask who has since move out of first round talk all together. As I remember it, for a while it was Lawrence, Fields, Lance, Jones, Trask. Then it was Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance, Jones. Now it's apparently Lawrence, Wilson, Jones, Fields, Lance. That kind of inconsistency on everyone but Lawrence is making me think none of the other guys may be that good and they're just trying to play up drama and the fact QBs are what drive the league This kind of back and forth on these guys is making me think of 2011 and Newton, Locker, Gabbert and Ponder
  19. this could be the end of Scherff here. Cause maybe Flowers can't play RG, but Wes Schweitzer can and plugging Flowers in at LG frees him up But overall, I can't say I'm enamored of us trading up to getting the best of what's left at the QB position in the draft
