So… my way too early it’s the first preseason action take is that linebacker is still the biggest weakness on the team.

Bostic… missed a bunch of tackles, over ran some plays.

Holcomb.. catch tackler. Athletic. But same as last year. Decent player who still has growth potential.

Jamin looked a little lost when he was out there. Especially in coverage. He should acclimate but if he takes time to come around our backers are dog **** again. I hate that we didn’t get a second one to go with Jam.

I mostly agree, but I expect them to be better than last year even with a rookie.

To be fair, i doubt many of us have done anything anywhere close to the level of what the accusers are claiming Watson did (if they are in fact true) 🤷🏻‍♂️

Im not going to keep going on about this.  But like you said, number one “if” it’s true, and on the other hand, no one here knows what everyone else has done.

Im not one of those people who wants someone to be guilty of certain behavior when they’ve shown character that suggests otherwise.  Watson and his lawyers have almost as many people vouching for him as he has accusers.  He deserves his chance to clear his name if the allegations are false.  I’m not a fan of so many people acting like they’re squeaky clean when it comes to character also.  I’m not quick to judge him.  And it sounds like you don’t know all the facts either yet you’re passing judgement.

I’m curious as to how you can ‘not buy into all the allegations’ and believe “he’ll rebound from all this” when you have “not read what they all are”? Seems confusing unless you are just basing your conclusions on a self admitted lack of information.

Thankfully we stayed away from Watson...he's gonna be a distraction no matter what.

IDK, I’m not really buying into all the allegations.  I’ve not read what they all are.  And I think he’ll rebound from all this.  The timing of it is very suspicious.

I know it's been mentioned that Collins dropped weight, but has anyone seen actual numbers compared to his weight last year?

I don’t have the numbers.  But from the clips I’ve seen of him in training camp he looks really spry.  He has a lot of bounce to his step.  He looks noticeably sharp movement wise.

  7. I’ll be watching the rookie tomorrow.  I hope he gets a series or two.  It will be good experience.  I know Parsons got picked higher than Davis.   But Ron said Davis was the highest defender on our board, so I’m interested in seeing who got the better linebacker.   But I’ll be happy if he’s a good fit for our defense no matter what happens.

On the other end of the spectrum: Najee Harris is a fun guy who says what he thinks but it just always seems to be in good fun and not bathed in negativity.

Najee Harris doesn’t interview like a football player.  It’s more like you’re talking to an actor.  He has a lot of charisma.  It remains to be seen if he’ll be good or not.

On another note, I refuse to watch Hard Knocks because it’s the Cowboys.

I'm the most excited I have been before a season in a long time. But fans also need to be a bit more realistic. This defense is good on paper but still has holes at linebacker and safety. We don't know if the rookie will be a factor and we still start Bostic and Collins.  There is a reason Ryan Fitzpatrick has played on 7 teams in 11 years, fans are overlooking why that is.  TM is a stud but the other receivers are question marks.  Curtis Samuel may be good here but we've had a lot of WR 2's and 3's from other teams that never really panned out.  Then there is the schedule.

I am not trying to diminish the optimism here, I wish I felt it too but I have some reservations.

Linebacker okay I guess, but Safety?  Looks like they’ll have Curl and Collins starting.

I'd like to believe it but I don't.  We may have the best WR but Cooper/Lamb (who is about to be a star) and Gallup is clearly a better group than we have IMO.  TE we get the nod, but only the starter, and of course we don't have a Zeke.  And then there is Dak, the best QB by far in the division.

One of the hosts picked Dallas to win the division, but he was a Cowboy fan.  The neutral host picked us.  And then for the receivers we also have Dyami Brown who people like Chris Collinsworth said is the steal of the draft.  But, yes, he is an unknown at this point.

I was really hoping, against long odds, that Taylor really was that guy in Tampa. But the camp reports are troubling and I'm not sure we can risk the future of the franchise to some degree on the theory that he is a gamer and not a practice player. That's kind of a reach.

I think Dallas should be the favorites.  Parsons is just what they needed, though not nearly enough he will make a difference on that defense. Then there is the return of Dak and a healthy, and still good, OL to go with the best weapons by far in the division.

You’re really high on Dallas.  I watched the PFF podcast where both hosts agreed that not only did Washington have comparable weapons, but that McLaurin was the best Wide Out in the division.
