Grant Paulsen, Sheehan, Rouhier are really helping fuel my Giants hate week after week.  Grant just now saying the Giants have a "great defense".   😡

I'll double down on the narrative that the Giants are really good seems to be the hipster position of much of the WFT local media.    Feels like the week we end up playing the Giants -- the build up will feel on local radio like we are playing a juggernaut.  :ols:

This game is right up there with Dallas and a few others for me.  We shouldn’t have gotten swept last year, but we did.  So we really owe them this year, and I think that’s the universal feeling in this fanbase.

I want to hear that whole PFF argument.  Entertaining stuff LOL.

Because, he is our 4th best WR right now. Terry, Curtis, Humphreys then Sims.

Dyami and Dax have never played, while guys like AGG, Harmon and Cam have lets stats then him.

so until we have a 4th, he is our 4th.

I think everyone, coaches included, is willing to roll the dice on Brown for that 4th spot.  I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

SS is a fringe WR5 but gets more leeway for being a "gadget" guy. Last year he was our WR2 by default. This year there's a solid chance he doesn't even make the team. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. Boom or bust where the booms don't ever come close to having the impact of the busts.

I like SS, but I like even more that we’re deeper at WR this year and can afford to possibly move on.  He may still have a place on the offense in certain situations.

Anyone else getting concerned with Willam Jackson, our new corner?  Honestly, I wasn’t familiar with him before we signed him but he seemed to be a highly rated player and got a big contract.  Now, the beat reporters are saying he’s been getting worked in practice for a while and now he’s on the injury report.

    Makes you wonder

Im not concerned about him on the field.  He’s gotten a couple picks also, just haven’t been well publicized in camp.  I’m more concerned about his health, but it seems to be very minor.  I expect him to play preseason game 1.

He had a crisp 4.3 YPA this game.

I've seen QBs use shovel passes with more depth.

Yeah, I was expecting maybe a little improvement.  But he’s doing the same things.  He completed his first pass for about nine yards.  Everything after that, was forgettable.

As president of the Collins fan club, I'm so excited to see him in this defense. He's not Jamal Adams, but he's about as close as you'll get. Our run defense should be nuts. Especially with the offense being able to score.

I really want to see how this defensive front and secondary plays against Dallas.  People are hyping them up like they always do.  But I want to go at it with Dak behind center.  I know what I expect to happen but I need to see it.

Not trying to turn this into an RG3 thread. But who really cares what he says at this point? He has no connection at all left to the coaching staff or front office of this team. He will be paid for his opinion. And it really means nothing at all with this current team.

Herbert will be a test regardless of how good our D is.

I asked KillBill and I doubt it will turn into an RG3 thread.  Not many people are interested.  I asked because I’m wondering if it will affect his coverage of the team.  And again, I wanted Bills opinion.

He gave his boss a list of teams he refuses to call games for, then he went bowling with the owner.

Do you think RG3 is generally disliked in this area or in some circles because of his comments and behavior?  It’s not really talked about much but I think RG3 blames this franchise in a way for his lack of success.  I say this because of a controversial tweet I heard he put out a while back something to the affect, of “ somehow they’ll find a way to blame this on me.”  He was referencing this franchise, but he was long gone from here when he posted the tweet.

    That's what caught my attention.

We keep hearing about good plays from st juste or Holcomb or Davis etc etc but I have yet to see anything positive about Jackson.

I remember seeing WJ3 getting an interception on Fitz and McLaurin when Terry fell down on a route in front of him.  He got the pick and started running the other way.  I saw a clip of it on Instagram.

Any self respecting kicker wouldn't even wear #2!

Even soccer back in the day you played a 2,3,5.  Keeper was 1, right back 2, left back 3 etc.  Damn im old!

Heh heh…… number 2.  As long as he doesn’t play like **** I think I’m okay with it.  But 80’s do look better on wide outs.

Looks like we may have put collins in the grave a tad prematurely.

This defense will be disgusting if he can regain his all pro form.

I never wanted to get rid of him or even bench him.  Did I think Curl outplayed him a little last year?  Yes, but I always felt there was a place for him on certain downs.

Anyone else feel like the practice squad, in light of COVID policy this year and Washington's improving-but-still-not-great vaccination rate, needs to have a focus on plug and play guys we would feel comfortable suiting up at a moment's notice, rather than project types?  Feels like a somehow Sammis Reyes ends up on IR, type situation.

They said Washington is up to 84% vaccination rate now.

As I mentioned before, the irony to that (and Terry alluded to it recently in an interview) the wrap on him on college was is he only a Johnny One Note deep threat?  That is, can he do more than just going deep?  He had a sick YPA in college.   Very similar narrative before the draft to Dyami Brown now ironically.

Terry has had some big deep ball moments in the NFL but not enough considering his ball tracking ability, speed, and history at Ohio State.  But also he's had mostlly either conservative QB play with dudes who don't drive the ball down the field much or guys who aren't that accurate with throwing the ball down the field.  Fitz isn't a stud by any stretch but I think he will be a much better match for Terry who can burn CBs on go routes, etc and who is awesome with contested catches.

According to those who monitor double teams, Terry got double teamed a lot.  I showed months back, three different outlets that tracked that.   Richard Sherman also talked about it.  So yeah i think teams are plenty fearful of him.

There is defintely a crowd of fans/media who think Terry is teetering on elite.  And some who think not so much.  With the not so much crowd, I think the two things that hurts Terry:   1.  He doesn't carry himself as a star.   Chase for example exudes stardom with his personality.  Flashy player.  All in a good way.  Terry in comparison is kind of boring on that front.   2.  He had monster stats for most of this past season.  I've posted them before.  But he slowed down at the end because of an injury that typically sidelines most players but Terry played through it.  I think that set up a glass half empty, glass half full debate as for whether he's a great WR.  For those that think he's a great WR, some will factor that injury and how it put the breaks to a monster season.  For those who aren't convinced that Terry is a great player they tend to ignore the injury as a factor in his sliding stats.

Regardless, if Terry can stay healthy this seaon.  IMO he will be top 10 level good -- and yes I think he's teetering on elite and I think he takes that next step into becoming elite.

    https://www.nfl.com/news/terry-mclaurin-offseason-additions-will-open-up-washington-offense-for-me

"It's not going to necessarily allow those teams to play with the safety on the hash and those double coverages I was seeing a lot last year," McLaurin said, per the team's official website.

Underscoring the dire straits last season, at times, McLaurin was the only Washington receiver on the field who'd even been drafted. Nevertheless, the second-year wideout put up 1,118 yards in a vertically challenged Washington offense. The next closest wide receiver on the roster was Cam Sims with 477 yards (tight end Logan Thomas finished second on the team in receiving with 670 yards, and RB J.D. McKissic had 589 yards).

Defenses could load up to stop McLaurin, not fretting any other Washington weapon could do damage.

The belief is that the offseason additions will open up Scott Turner's entire offense.

"I just think it's going to open it up, for me personally, down the field, intermediate and short," McLaurin said. "But also, it's gonna allow other guys to make some plays."

You’re exactly right in saying Terry doesn’t carry himself like a star and he’s not flashy.  He’s a very likeable person and player but he’s not flashy.  I wish he did more of that, a little bit more, not necessarily a lot more.  He’d be doing it for him, because then he could get more of the recognition he deserves.
