Corners don't follow receivers around every play any more as no modern offense has their WRs line up the same way all day.  But since you know football and I don't, I assume you knew that already and were just being pedantic.  I shouldn't have to say that of course Surtain didn't cover Terry the whole game when I point out he shut him down when he did.

Second, your post is not the defense of Terry that you think it is, because it tacitly acknowledges that corners of lesser talent and pedigree than Surtain shut Terry down too.

Is that what you think I do?  Is that what you do?

Corners do still follow receivers.  And Terry still had top ten numbers in the league coming into that game.  He is not the problem, the QB is.  That’s how I know you don’t understand football.

Im not going to argue with you because I know that you don’t know what you’re talking about.  Look at where his numbers stack up in franchise history already.  Get a clue, and find someone else dumb enough to argue with you.   Only people nice enough to argue with you are trying to clue you in.  I’m not that nice.

Terry got shut down by a rookie today.  Even on the play that got batted down at the line by #99 where he was the first read, it was a slant where he was completely blanketed.  By contrast, Jeudy got wide open on a slant against man coverage for a key conversion on their go ahead TD drive.

Terry's one big play today came running through a busted zone coverage where the deep defender never picked him up.  I'd like to hear more about how he's a hall of famer and how this team does nothing but hold him back.

Surtain didn’t follow Terry today.  You’re frustrated and wrong.  If you don’t know football just say that.

Maybe I’m glass half full guy, but I think there IS talent on the roster.  But a few glaring holes are sub optimizing everything.

I think there’s talent there too.  I don’t see our team doing things that I see other productive teams do.   On offense where are the shovel passes and rub routes?  On defense I just think we have a terrible scheme.  And now I’m a believer that Landon Collins just shouldn’t be out there.  I think we have backups better than him.

The throw it up to Mcclaurin stuff is overblown. He’s made contested catches down the field often when DBs heads are turned not looking at the ball. Not knocking him, but he’s not shown to be a high point the ball type guy. He’s a borderline top 10 type guy for me, so I’m a believer.

I don’t know that he can’t high point the ball because he doesn’t get the opportunity to.  I can remember a pretty good high point catch against Dallas that Logan Thomas threw.  But Logan isn’t our QB, so…….

No **** Sherlock.....I said that he's "looking like" Deion, not that he is Deion.

But since we bringing it up, Deions best season INT wise, he had 7 in 1993..........Diggs got 5 INTs with 12 games left in the season.

But no one would throw at Deion so those stats don’t matter......Sherlock

I’m bummed about Cosmi going down.  Hopefully he’s week to week.

They need to play Everett, Curl, and Reaves at safety next week.   I’m done with Collins and McCain. You can print that, Bobby.

JP Finlay Mitch and Pete were saying this also.  I’m all for putting in Reaves and Everett.  They can’t do any worse.

Terry seems to have two camps about him.

    A.  Jason Reid , Sheehan, some national pundits, some fans here who say he's a good to very good player but he's not a superstar and he's inflated by the WFT fans who are desperate to have a star on that side of the ball but sorry that's not Terry albeit he's a very good player.

    B.  The dude is a a superstar.  He's a top 10 WR or at least in that conversation and he's hurt by not having that diva personality that generates attention for other WRs so he's if anything underrated for that reason.

Liked the dude a lot before that draft, love him even more now.  I am firmly in camp B.  He was poised for superstar stats last year but was slowed down by the two high ankle sprains.   He's on a superstar stat trajectory this year as he was last season, too.  Just stay healthy, Terry!

I don’t listen to Sheehan anyway and I’d tell him to his face.😁

If our defense gets shredded this week, JDR has to go.  Rivera has to take over.  No good.

I don’t know that I want to see this happen because it means things went terribly wrong.  But I might like to see Rivera take over the defense.  I don’t know at this point.

That test was a disaster! No pressure, no schemes, no disrupting the receivers timing, this is definitely coaching and it's like watching Haslett all over again. Every future Hall of Fame QB is on our schedule this season, and if you give any of these QB's time in the pocket, they will destroy you. Last season our Defensive line made Del Rio look like a great coach, this season we will see how good of a coach he really is. So far he is failing the test, we have seen 0 adjustments in the 2nd half, unlike last season when we would shut teams down.

So that begs the question, what is the big difference with this year?  I don’t think players all of a sudden get this bad.  Like you said, it has to be coaching.

I didn’t watch him Exclusively and I’m still in season so I don’t have much time to go back and watch. But I’m impressed with him as a run blocker. He is strong and powerful. He has to work on his hand placement. His pass set technique is still a work in progress but he seems to be getting better. He looks better now than he did in college. So he’s growing.

Improve pass pro, eliminate the holds and this dude is gonna be alright. But for now he’s a walking holding penalty :ols:

I think as a whole the line run blocks better than they pass block.  Which means to me that we should run the ball more.

Yeah Young doesn't really get doubled that often. At this point TEs are 1 on 1 blocking him successfully going back to the playoff game last year. He is regressing. I expect him to get better, but he is nowhere near the dominant presence we thought we'd get by now.

It’s been like two games into the season.
