  1. I would not have thrown a long, low percentage pass immediately before the 2 minute warning.

Most likely, it's incomplete and the clock stops. But it stops anyway for the 2 minute warning.

I would have thrown a high percentage pass in the middle of the field and let the clock stop itself for free, and gain some bonus yardage

Yeah, I'm just surprised we beat them

I'm not. We were a lot healthier that game, than we were during our losing streak to end the season.

Against the Raiders, we had Logan Thomas, who had a score that game (the difference in the game, too). On defense we had William Jackson that game, and perhaps others.

When the 2021 team was relatively healthy, we were a force to be reckoned with. That was evident during our healthy 4-0 streak, too.

The only down side is you lose a challenge. But in the last minute of the 3rd quarter, the odds that you're going to need to use two challenges before the 2 minute warning are really slim.

Right. I had that in mind. But with the game in its current scenario, it was probably unlikely they would need 2 more challenges

  4. Bisaccia was seriously considering throwing the challenge flag.

    Reluctantly he decides not to.

But he does decide to take a timeout.

So why didn't he just challenge it ?

Either way you use and get a timeout as a worst case scenario, but if you challenge it, at least there's a chance for the TD

Hold on there! Its sounds like you're trying to say that Philly is a good team. Philly is what we would be without our injuries and disease outbreaks.

For starters, they have the #1 Rushing Offense in the NFL. And that wasn't supposed to happen to them this year. A strong foundation in a critical department.

And their defense and DL ain't too shabby either. (Not counting tonight, since this is essentially a Preseason game)

They seem to be a well-coached team.

  6. One thing about Philly ; they always seem to make good choices in coaching hires, and they always start out quickly with a bang, and not some 2-5 year rebuild.

Whether it's Siriannu, Pederson, Chip Kelly, Andy Reid, etc.

You don't see them going through a laundry of coaching hires, or wasted hires.

And one thing about Dallas - they know how to draft WR's, always.

to have games that have playoff implications.

That seems to be an extremely high priority in everything they do, especially schedule-making, and more than ever.

Like for example, our last 5 games are Divisional.

And we're not the only ones like that, there's others.

Gotta keep increasing that revenue, no matter how high it is.

Games being played on Saturday of the final regular season weekend?

I definitely remember Saturday games at the very end of the season, at least the last several years.

Now, they may have skipped the very last weekend like you said, as I can't be positive about that, but they definitely have been doing Saturday games near the end of the season, perhaps for a couple weeks immediately preceding the final weekend.

I’m a little surprised that they’re having games on Saturday this week with the playoffs next week. Is there a guarantee that a team that’s playing Saturday won’t be playing a team that’s playing Sunday?

I could be wrong, but I think that's been the practice for quite some time.

Although despite that, you still bring up a good point.

Ryan Kerrigan got within about a yard of an opposing quarterback on one pass play late in the Eagles/Washington game yesterday. That's about as close as he's come all season to actually getting a sack.

The practice squad player who replaced him when he missed the Giants game last week because of Covid made more tackles/plays in that single game than Kerrigan did the entire season. I'm not kidding.

He did his best to make Philly lose this year, to help his old team out, per the spy agreement he was paid to do by Washington.

But in the end, it wasn't enough. As Philly, of course, beat us out, in games and in the standings ;)

That was an interesting look back at the first UFC event.

For another type of throwback - here is Dana White's very first UFC event. He's "revved and ready to go !"

Would you have recognized him ?
