  1. Agreed. In fact the Hamilton + Walker/Hall is my 2nd favorite scenario. The value of a strong running game also helps a QB. The focus for some here has been strictly WR. I'm thinking about balance, depth and playaction pass. Mitigating the need for Wentz to throw 40 times a game. BTW, I would be happy with London + Walker/Hall too. I'm not of the belief we will fix every hole on this team. Every team will have a hole or two entering the season. ~Wolffe
  2. There is another way to help Wentz. A strong running game. Just last year he was aided by Jonathan Taylor. With your scenario we could still grab Walker or Hall in the 2nd. ~Wolffe
  3. Pickens seems to get mocked to us occasionally in the 2nd. The NFL match up crew like him as does Greg Cosell. He doesn't seem to get much love on this board though. From what I understand he provides that balance of good RAS and route running. I think he becomes a more viable option with a trade down as our 2nd round pick looks to be RB/LB. ~Wolffe
  4. To help Wentz the intial thought was WR, but how about an improved running attack. I like the idea of Hall or Walker in the 2nd if we go Hamilton in the First. If WR then I'd be more inclined to go LB/S in the second. ~Wolffe
  5. I think we're in WR or LB territory at 11. The two players who could change that would be Gardner or Hamilton. ~Wolffe
  6. Everyone on the defensive line needs to improve significantly outside of Jonathan Allen. ~Wolffe
  7. Due diligence. Relax. They could also be looking at RB there. ~Wolffe
  8. Again with the trade down stuff like it's readily available. Every year we talk it and yet it rarely happens. The few trade downs we have managed through the years we ended up getting too cute and better talent was drafted ahead of us. Given today's recovery from ACL, drafting WR #1 at 11 is worthwhile. Upside ~Wolffe
  9. @sebastian We can't give big money to both TMac and DK. WR help will come through the draft either early or mid rounds. ~Wolffe
  10. The ebbs and flows of the draft process. Initially I was smitten with the idea of Drake London a big Wr that could do work in the middle of the field. Alleviate pressure off of the TEs, and utilizing a big slot at times and a red zone target. Then I watched Jameson Williams. At 11, even with the ACL. I would heavily consider drafting this guy. We need a superstar, this guy can get YAC underneath and deep with a plus size and speed combination. So what, we have to wait until half way through the season to utilize him? Maybe even next year, I still think it's worth it. For defense, Devin Lloyd and Kyle Hamilton at 11 only. My draft preference today. 1) Jameson Williams 2) Drake London 3) Kyle Hamilton 4) Devin Lloyd - only because of the 2nd round LB depth. You could switch Lloyd for Hamilton for me. ~Wolffe
  11. Thanks, both seem on the small side. Interesting to see who will be the better pro.
  12. Why do most rate Wilson better then Olave? From what I understand Olave is the better route runner, faster and more natural. Wilson has better quick twitch and explosiveness? What am I missing?
  13. I thought the narrative under Ron Rivera in Carolina was they always draft DBs in the lower rounds and find gems. I think we go WR in the first.
  14. Perfect comparison and I agree. I would prefer London but any WR in the first round sounds good to me. To double down, I would also like to add Kenneth Walker in the 2nd. Give us an Ingram-Kamara punch with Gibson being utilized more in a hybrid role. Obviously linebacker is a need so we shall see.
  15. Drake London seems like the perfect fit for BPA, team need, scheme and new Qb. A big bodied Wr that can win outside but also move to the slot to soak up some of the inline TE targets. He mitigates the need to draft a TE. I see Marques Colston with more wiggle and speed.
  16. Interesting for sure. My offensive coordinator in college used to harp on players who are "proven" vs upside. Players coming off of injury have the risk of never being the same. The draft is full of busts but this time of year we assume all of the first round picks will reach peak potential. The Titans went with "proven" and the recent trend of ACL recovery. They also already have AJ Brown, so Woods appears to be the vet to replace Julio. They made a financial investment sure, but we have seen over the last week how teams can manipulate the cap..so..... They also didn't give up much in terms of draft capital so whats the risk?
  17. Tis the off-season. I'm cool with the above outside of all the top 10 and top 5 talk. Let's just be competitive. I do embrace the underdog mentality of this team. We won't trot out with Rodgers, Wilson or Watson. Thats fine by me, sleep on us. I'm excited for the FA pickups and draft. Undoubtedly we have improved at the most important position and play in a weak division. Let's go!
  18. I haven't considered WR in the First or Second until now. I'm curious to get a take. Given our scheme and current personnel should we be looking for speed or size to add to our WR room?
  19. Let me provide insight on my thinking. Lloyd would solidify our front seven by being the QB in the middle and enhancing Jamin's skillet with his move outside. Stopping the run and mitigating the backs and TE's in the pass game. Walker provides us that 1-2 punch in the run game. We can alleviate Gibson's workload and provide him additional opportunities in the pass game. Gibson provides some positional depth behind Samuel and Walker provides depth behind Gibson. All healthy we can be creative in the run game with Wentz and setup the deep ball to Terry and Dyami.
  20. I like Devin Lloyd in the First and Kenneth Walker in the 2nd.
  21. I've been watching the first 3 weeks and haven't spent much time on the board. It's very strange to me the chemistry issues we seem to have on this team. I also feel like if you would have said we were going to lose to the Chargers and Bills to start the season. Okay fine. The big disappointment is obviously the defense. I still view the Chargers game as winnable and hell the Cowboys had to sneak in a FG to win it late against that same team. Albeit same deal with us and the Giants. All that being said I do believe the defense will steadily improve and the offense will find a better rhythm as the season progresses. We will finish strong but will that be enough to win the east or sneak into the playoffs? I don't know. Additional note: I remember stories about Ray Lewis and Ed Reed having the defense over to watch film together. I understand we have team captains but they tend to lead by example which is fine but behind the scenes are they really working together or do we have a young squad with each individual looking for their massive second contract?
  22. IR the whole year? Not that extreme but yes it's disappointing that our prize FA acquisition hasn't been able to practice all offseason and to start the season. It's not his fault our fan base has been burned by this in the past. It just stinks.
