  1. Should be a good bail out option. Play breaks down and everyone is "covered'. Throw it to AGG he can probably box out and pull it down. Saves a few throw away incompletions in addition to being a red zone target.
  2. What I love is the attention Gibson will garner from the defense. Then Terry is all alone catching bombs from Haskins after all the misdirection.
  3. Depends on his health and how efficient he is as a receiving weapon. I don't think all is lost though.. if anything this puts pressure on Mckissic and Barber. Cheap vets can be removed before healthy youth and upside. Just have to let it play out. This is the value of depth and competition. Heck we may even be able to trade one or two of these guys for picks.
  4. If losing gives us Chase Young in addition to Bruce Allen fired. Well.. that combination is the highlight of my Redskins Fandom to date.
  5. The impact on Sweat is what is lost in the soup. A rookie pass rusher who showed flashes towards the end of the season. This time last year he tore the combine up and was the one being compared to Julius Peppers albeit stiff in the hips. If we come out of this with two premiere pass rushers combined with our interior front. Yes please and thank you. Pay them and continually draft the remainder of the roster year in and year out.
  6. Thank you. This was my exact thoughts watching that game and the impact Bosa had and the rest of the defensive line and really defensive as a unit. That's what we need.
  7. @JaxJoe I'm with you but this is the time of year where we all get anxious of who the best lineup and players are. I think by the 3rd preseason game alot of what you want will work itself out. I'm all for a McClaurin,Simms, Harmon/Quinn combination myself. This year is going to be fun to watch all the games especially the perceived 2nd and 3rd string guys.
  8. My training camp optimism tour brings me to this thread. We had two first round picks this year which seemingly has taken a little attention off both in terms of media coverage so far. I just think back to last year and our collective inability to get off the field on 3rd down. This seemed by the naked eye due to the lack of outside pressure. We now have speed off the edge thanks to the arrival of Sweat. This speed off the edge combined with the interior pressure we can provide sounds like a recipe for success.
  9. I'm excited about the young stable of Wrs. The unkown untapped potential between Terry, Sims,Harmon and Quinn should result in having two emerge as bona fide starters. Terry in particular presents interesting qualities due to size and athletic ability which is enhanced by route nuance and work ethic. When the training camp tweets start rolling in I will definitely be addicted.
  10. I agree but I also don't think it's so much caught up but the quickest way to identify with a teams passing game. Who is their number one WR? The benefit a number one gives you is they dictate coverage and you can count of them for a consistent number of targets, catches and production. I'm with you in that having multiple 2s/3s could work. In that scenario everything must be clicking but you get the Patriots element in that you never know who will burn you from drive to drive and week to week. Given that our developmental QB is a pocket passer and is showing flashes of reading the entire field and has the arm to back it up. I'm inclined to think a mixture of our two rookie wr,Sims,Richardson, Quinn, Reed, Davis and CT should be effective if sprinkled around properly.
  11. His perceived lack of "great" bend doesn't bother me. I do think he has good to solid bend especially given his size. I think Burns had the best bend but wasent as complete a football player as Sweat. It's the off-season but I'm feeling the Julius Peppers comp. Been reminiscing with his highlights lately.
  12. The biggest one for me was the potential game winner against the Chiefs. I understand he caught the ball and then fell it on..which caused the drop. Frustrating.. with better concentration/awareness and stronger hands his reputation on this board and on the team would be different. Imagine if we won that game...
  13. Rare combination of speed, size and toughness. I love the blocking he will provide to the run game and bubble screens. You combine that with the speed to take the top off, positional versatility and special teams. Damn.
  14. A thought on our pass catchers this year. Jordan Reed has been healthy but is production is not what it used to be. It also seems like we keep his routes much closer to the line of scrimmage as opposed to in years past he would be good for 3 or 4 chunk plays of 15-20 yards. Is this more scheme or should be look to draft a replacement...maybe a guy like Irv Smith jr?
  15. That's a good point and considering he missed his rookie year this isn't to shabby. So.. offensively what do we need? On paper we have a pass catching TE and two bigger Wrs in MO and DOC. Richardson provides speed and appears to get open deep. I don't care much for Crowder and that is mainly because he hasent been available. Do we need another talented WR in the draft? Maybe a shifty..speed guy.
  16. Dotson has had a few games now where he is beginning to consistently contribute. I think you said it best as he may never be a #1. But perhaps he can be a solid #3.
  17. Should be interesting to see what offensive tweaks are made coming out of the bye. The early bye could end up being an advantage. The first few weeks teams try to get a read on you...tendencies..scheme..personnel etc. We could keep teams off balance for another few weeks. Sneak a few more wins in based on a surprises.
  18. Good point. This probably sets us up to draft a WR within the first 3 rounds next year.
  19. I would agree. I think the best case is if Doc can get to the Michael Thomas, Kennan Allen..tier. The issue is those guys beat you with great routes and solid hands and Doc hasent shown that ability as of yet. I do believe better days are ahead and with good weather we could see improvement this week.
