  1. Some news bits I have seen floating around, still haven't seen the fight: Teddy Atlas apparently was saying on SC that Pacquiao's Top Rank deal is coming up and he wants to leave and this is Arum's leverage to keep him Chris Mannix (SI.com Boxing writer) had Bradley winning 7-5 and predicted the judges would give him some rounds due to his aggression Most people can see Bradley taking the final 3 rounds and round 2, everything else is up to debate according to what I've read (sherdog and other forums). That would still have him losing 8-4
  2. Rafael just tweeted that Berto test positive for roids. Berto-Ortiz II is almost certainly done
  3. According to Nevada commission -- Pacquiao's base purse is $6 million, Bradley's, $5 million
  4. Mayweather's Tweet: I stand behind President Obama & support gay marriage. I'm an American citizen & I believe people should live their life the way they want.
  5. From what I gather, he made mention of a bible verse to back up his claims that homosexuality was against God and the bible verse had that in it, he didn't actually say the quote. Here is his response: “I only gave out my opinion that same sex marriage is against the law of God,” he told ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo. “I’m not against gay people…I have a relative who is also gay. We can’t help it if they were born that way. What I’m critical of are actions that violate the word of God.” - Manny Pacquiao
  6. Here's his twitter, the tweets are still there as of now: Ariza's Twitter
  7. Lamont Peterson is a bum, big fan of the dude but what a moron
  8. I'm not gonna discredit Pac, guy is a warrior and a great fighter but Bradley is a *****, dude ducked Khan something serious multiple times and opted to fight Joel Casamayor. Mayweather fought Ortiz last year, 25 years old and ranked as the #2 Welterweight and the WBO champ coming off a fight of the year candidate in which he beat an undefeated hyped Andre Berto. De La Hoya and Schaefer both already said no way they are letting Canelo fight Floyd, why ruin all of his momentum as a 21 year old before he's even headlined a PPV yet?
  9. Peterson failed a drug test, fight with Khan in jeopardy EDIT: Tested positive for synthetic testosterone, yikes. Fight is probably off now
  10. Canelo/Kirkland is likely for the September PPV, Martinez is angling still for a Julio Caesar Chavez Jr fight if he gets passed Lee Mayweather/Cotto is tracking better then any other Mayweather fight other then De La Hoya, Schaefer says 2+ million buys, probably really around 1.7, which is HUGE. Chisora/Haye is in the works, huge sentiment against it being in England
  11. Mayweather announced he is fighting Miguel Cotto on May 5th. Pacquiao is expected to announce his next opponent (Timothy Bradley most likely) for June 9th soon
  12. UFC on FX 3 will probably take place at the Patriot Center in the middle of May according to MMA junkie. Sorry if it has already been posted
  13. Thats the crux of the problems, Manny cant demand anything because Arum's foot is on his throat it seems. When was the last time Pacquiao gave a full interview, made a television appearance or even full on called Mayweather out? The only thing I've seen is one or two lines in a paper out of the Philippines. Everything else is Roach or Arum saying "Manny wants..." History shows Mayweather will concede on secondary things, in the DLH fight he let Oscar pick the gloves, ring size, weight class, etc. The money will be sorted out. Agree to the date and arena and then let things fall into place. Both are definitely at fault don't get me wrong and Mayweather is culpable but there is no way you can go from "Mayweather is ducking Pacquiao" to then blaming Mayweather when he has been up Pacquiao's ass for a month now begging for a fight where Pacquaio's team has thrown every excuse to not fight.
  14. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum confirmed a report by the Filipino TV network ABS-CBN that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. had a telephone conversation on Wednesday night (Thursday in the Philippines). Arum said that he was told on Thursday morning that the two fighters spoke. "Mayweather called Michael Koncz to talk to Manny, and Michael Koncz put Manny on the phone," said Arum. "Manny said that they have to resolve the date and other issues, and other things are happening." Neither Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer nor Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, could be reached for comment. Pacquiao told the Filipino TV network ABS-CBN that his conversation with Mayweather "went O.K., the talk about the negotiation proceeds forward," adding, "I said that the 50-50 was approved and there’s no problem. Anytime. It’s in your hands. We’ll just wait if it’s O.K. with you." Arum said that Mayweather and Koncz had been talking privately for weeks. Mayweather apparently initiated the call and it sounds like he is trying to bypass Arum almost to get the fight done. Hopefully it works out
  15. MANILA, Philippines -- Manny Pacquiao's camp says there is no economic sense in setting up a bout with Floyd Mayweather on May 5 after the unbeaten American publicly challenged the Filipino champion via Twitter. Pacquiao's financial adviser Michael Koncz told The Associated Press on Thursday that a 45,000-seat boxing arena being built in Las Vegas won't be finished before the end of May and staging the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight in a smaller venue is "foolish from an economic standpoint." Mayweather challenged and taunted Pacquiao to a May 5 bout in a tweet on Tuesday. "Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see," he tweeted. Mayweather is available for a fight in May at the MGM Grand Garden after a judge agreed last week to postpone his jail sentence for domestic violence until June. Mayweather was sentenced to 87 days in jail, but likely will serve less time. The MGM Grand seats about 17,000, which could fetch around $20 million in sales, but the larger arena could raise an additional $30 million, Koncz said. "Why would I tell Manny to fight on the 5th and throw away a percentage of 30 million? That's crazy," he said. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has told the Philippines' GMA television the only reason the fight won't happen is if there is an "economic problem." He said the fight "could happen very, very easily" at the end of May -- enough time to build the outdoor arena "the fight so badly needs." "I will also guarantee Manny's purse," he said. "In other words, Manny doesn't want to go into the ring and just fight out a percentage." He said Mayweather is looking for "outside parties to guarantee his end of the purse." "So, until he finds the angel, there is no fight," Arum said. In a separate interview with GMA, Pacquiao said that if Mayweather agrees to a "50-50 sharing, there will be no problem." "The purse is not the issue right now, the date is," Koncz said. "But we don't have a problem splitting it 50-50."
  16. Boxing is a one on one sport, Mayweather can only fight one person at a time. Hahahah Vernon Forrest, Joshua Clottley? Vernon Forrest was in his prime in the early 2000s when Mayweather was at lightweight. When they were both at Welter Mayweather fought Judah, Baldomir, De La Hoya and Hatton while Forrest fought Quartey, Baldomir, Piccilrrilo and Mora twice before passing away. Can you imagine if Mayweather turned down a De La Hoya or Hatton fight to fight a 36 year old Vernon Forrest? We would never hear the end of it hahaha If you think Mayweather ducked Clottey then idk what to tell you, Clottey fails to do the one thing Mayweather wants, draw money. He is also stylistically a bad fight for Mayweather. The Clottey-Pacquaio "fight" is probably one of the worst fights in Pay Per View history that went to a decision. A Mayweather-Clottey fight would've been an absolute snoozefest. Personally I think Margarito is absolute trash and shouldn't be allowed to step foot in the ring ever again. If Mayweather did in fact duck him, good **** him. Mayweather-Cotto has always been a dream match of mine and I still hold out hope that it could it happen...one day. Hopefully Arum gets his **** together and he can make this fight. The whole May 5, late May, indoors, outdoors, purse take, its all noise. At the end of the day the public deserves this fight and its time to get it done.
  17. Rafael today has been pressing that the Mayweather-Guerrero and Pacquiao-Peterson bouts are being talked about the most but the reaction from all sides (not surprisingly) has been negative. I think they both need to sack up and make the fight, Pacquiao doesn't need 8 months to recover from a cut and Mayweather isn't going to "make the most money" fighting Guerrero. Get it done boys
  18. Rafael: Make no mistake: There have been times the lack of Pacquiao-Mayweather has been the fault of both sides. Right now it's the Pacquiao side.
  19. Arum is trash, easily the biggest reason this fight hasn't gone down yet
  20. Blatche on twitter... I may have had a bad game but that's cause I need the ball in the post not taking jump shots all game
  21. Humphries averaged a double double last year, he's a solid player. Idk why the guy gets so much hate lol
  22. Humphries averaged a double double last year, he's a solid player. Idk why the guy gets so much hate lol
  23. Humphries isn't horrible, he gets a lot of unwarranted hate. Guy averaged a double double last year, but 21-15 from him is overkill, he isn't Kevin Love lol
