  1. Dan Rafael is reporting the Mayweather-Canelo fight did "well" over 2 million buys, Kevin Iole put the # at 2.37. That would set the all-time money record for PPV.
  2. Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn The 'atypical test' was Kendall Holt's, according to his own promoter, Gary Shaw. NOT Peterson's as Ring mag reported. Terrible job by Ring.
  3. David Aldridge reported that Wiz-Clips had a Butler for Ariza deal but Sterling nixed it at the last moment: L.A. CLIPPERS: The Clips stood pat, but not by their basketball people's choice. L.A. and Washington had a done deal Wednesday night that would have sent forward Trevor Ariza to the Clippers in exchange for Caron Butler, giving L.A. a long, defensive-oriented body to throw at the likes of Kevin Durant in the playoffs. (Butler, who still has an offseason home in the D.C. area, and who was loved by the locals, didn't have a problem returning to a non-Arenas Wizards locker room. He'd have been welcomed back as a much-needed offensive option, according to sources.) But sources indicated that Clippers owner Donald Sterling nixed the deal Thursday morning, not wanting to gamble on the team's chemistry being affected in any way down the stretch. My interpretation: we don't want to do anything that could, in any way, be held against us by assistant general manager Chris Paul this summer if we don't get far in the postseason. Either way, the Clips probably are just as well. If Paul couldn't convince Kevin Garnett to come West, there wasn't another game-changing deal out there.
  4. Even if you subscribe to the thought that Jordan Crawford is a no good cancer and ruined the team and had no value, the fact that they turned down Fab Melo (a legit 7 footer with upside) and instead got "salary relief" of 1.5 mil in the form of Barbosa and Collins is embarrassing. What an awful deal
  5. Warriors traded Charles Jenkins to Philly to get under the cap, probably gave up an exemption/2nd rounder down the road. Wiz should've kicked the tires on that, would've filled the backup PG void
  6. Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA Boston will send Jason Collins to the Wizards part of Jordan Crawford deal, source tells Y! Sports.
  7. Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA Celtics will send the Leandro Barbosa expiring contract to the Wizards for Jordan Crawford, league source tells Y! Sports.

  9. Micro-fracture surgery is not good news, has anyone come back from it in the NBA with the same explosiveness? Players I remember who had it are Gilbert Arenas, Grant Hill, and Amare Stoudemire and all of them have never been the same since.
  10. I hope Marquez wins so we can have Marquez-Pacquiao 5! hahaha in all seriousness though I'm not overly hyped for this fight but will definitely watch it, these two put on classics and that fact alone is worth something. If Marquez gets jobbed again I bet he retires ---------- Post added December-6th-2012 at 12:19 PM ---------- Rafael is reporting Ward hurt his shoulder and his fight with Pavlik is temporarily postponed
  11. Beal is optimistic, although he really can't say anything different. “We’re 0-11 but we still have 71 more games,” Beal said following Saturday night’s double-overtime loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. “It’s still a long season and we still have an opportunity to get over .500. “That’s our goal and we need to shoot for it. Just try to get in the playoffs. I mean, we’re going to make it. I have faith in this team and I think we’re more than capable of doing it.”
  12. NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams ripped Washington Wizards point guard A.J. Price after the two got into a shoving match in the final minute of Brooklyn's 98-88 preseason victory on Monday night at the Barclays Center. Price was assessed a flagrant foul for hacking Williams hard as he tried to finish a layup. The two then came together and exchanged words. Each was hit with a technical foul. Williams said Price, who was raised and played his high school basketball on Long Island, kept saying, 'I'm home. I'm home.'" "I hate when people just start talking for no reason," Williams said. "That's pretty much what he did. "Maybe he had some boys in the crowd he wanted to impress while he can with the little minutes he's going to get this year. "'It's my home now.' I told him that." Price, 26, holds career averages of 6.0 points and 2.0 assists in 14.9 minutes during his three-year career. "Miscommunication," said Price. "In the heat of the moment, guys say things all the time and one thing led to another, but all in all, it's part of the game." D-Will is playing with an edge this season, I wonder if this carries over to the next time they play
  13. Hollinger on Wall: There are bad jump-shooters, and then there is John Wall. Last season he shot 3-for-42 on 3-pointers. That is not a typo. He also shot 29.7 percent on 2-pointers beyond 10 feet, which might not have been so bad if he hadn't taken THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY of them in an abbreviated season. Defending Wall merely required stopping his initial tornado burst upcourt after he got the ball, because once he ran a pick-and-roll, opponents just went under the screen and watched him miss ... Wall would be an All-Star if he was a remotely capable outside shooter ... he's about where Derrick Rose was after his second season ... except that Rose was a passable shooter and Wall is an awful one
  14. Well he has given people some ammo, the whole "The UFC can sponsor me and not worry about me getting a DUI" only for him to get a DUI 3 weeks later was unforgivable especially when people already don't like him.
  15. Even Cerrone and Garcia (train with Jones and Jackson) have come out and said they wouldn't turn down a fight. What a PR mess for Jones, wonder when he will make a comment
  16. Hendo adds on: Henderson said: “This is the first time that the champion wouldn't step up and fight, and I was pretty shocked to hear that. It's not like he's injured. It's unbelievable to me that he wouldn't take that 'the show must go on' attitude. If there was any way I could have gone, and any way that I thought I could give myself a chance to compete, I would have done that."
  17. It's sucks this got cancelled this soon, Jones has had a rough year Luazon: "Not only has this screwed over all the fans that bought tickets, non refundable airfare, took off work, made arrangements, etc... but think of all the fighters. Fighters that put in full camps, flew people in that helped them trains, etc. By the time I am actually fight, I spend close to 20k between corners, flights, expenses, coaches, etc... and then to have the whole show cancelled because ONE guy didn't want to fight. This ONE guy that had trained an entire camp, who was the CHAMP and at the top of his weight class, who was going to fight someone who didn't do the camp, and was fighting UP a weight class. I have always been a big Jon Jones supporter... but I would be FURIOUS if this happenned to me and I was on the card. To call is scorched earth wouldn't do it justice. "
  18. It will heal on his own, here's his statement: "Sadly and unfortunately, I partially tore a ligament in my knee in training," the post read. "As a result I've had to make one of the toughest decisions that I have ever had to make...for the first time in my career I am forced to pull out of a fight, my fight with Jon Jones at UFC 151. Luckily, surgery is not needed at this time and I will be completely devoted to rehabbing my knee as quickly as possible. I feel that I owe it to my fans and all the people supporting me to fight at my full potential in order to give myself a chance to win the UFC title. I appreciate the loyal support that I have felt from my fans. I want to thank all of my coaches and team of guys for the great support with my training camp. Most importantly, I appreciate their honesty when I needed them the most to make this very difficult decision. I also want to thank Dana and Lorenzo for being so understanding and supportive. I will continue to pursue the UFC belt with all of my heart!"
  19. The thing that gets me is the picture of Bradley's face after absorbing 250 punches compared to Margarito, Cotto and Mosley all who either had around the same or less. Still have Pacquaio winning, still don't think it was a blow out or "the worst decision in the history of boxing"
  20. Your right I misread his chat. Although he had Bradley winning 1,5,7,8,12 which I don't think anyone had him doing (at least 5) ---------- Post added June-12th-2012 at 02:09 PM ---------- Link to Media Scorecards Out of 91 media members one had the fight for Bradley and one had it a draw.
  21. Chris Mannix from SI.com had it 115-113 Bradley, the guy doing the British broadcast with Khan had it close but I don't think he ever gave a score just did it round by round.
  22. Compubox is human operated, so it isn't without flaw. It shouldn't be the end all be all for "power punches" IMO
  23. I watched the fight and had it 8-4/7-5 Manny. 2,10,11,12 were Bradley rounds and then I think he might've stolen one in the middle (7 maybe?) but I don't know how you could've had him on the winning end of the decision.
