    Very optimistic for this up coming season. Chase and Montez know they need to ball in order to get paid. Same with Curl. 2024, they can afford to extend all three. Releasing Leno and Logan will create over 100 million in cap space with room to get a “star” player.

    Drue Tranquill would be a nice addition to the LB corps!!!! if they actually play a true 4-3 defense, you've got him, jamin, and then cody as your middle! that's a good front 7 right there!

    I know he’s not a linebacker. If he’s the best available at 16, that would be a better alternative than finding a MLB as RR and JDR’s defense love to utilize the safety position for that 3rd lb spot. Similar to what they did with Landon Collins. Plus, it could save more cap space by not extending Curl.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if Gibson gets traded for ekeler plus a 5th or 6th draft pick. Chargers don’t really need to free up any cap space though. In regards to LB, I would be fine with drafting Branch from Alabama with that 16th pick but if available. With him drafted, I don’t think they’ll resign Curl.

    I would really be impressed at the staff if they can restructure Roullier, Fuller, and Thomas’s contracts to free up some more space and land a good LB In addition to bringing back the mullet. Lots of cap space next year also, so this “show me whatcha got so you can be rewarded “ is now on Gibson, Sweat, Curl, and Young.

    How is it stupid? You do understand that they have PLENTY of cap space next year! Plus, we’re paying Sam NOT $40 mill a year! Commanders need to take advantage of this rare occurrence! Remember, this team LOVED spending money on OTHER players from other teams, it’s about time they started paying players within!

    if they were hoping to trade Payne, then they should have used a non exclusive tag on him. that way, if payne decides to go, and washington doesn't want to match it, then they can get 2 first round picks. plus, it would have been a less cap charge than the exclusive tag

    i think they can afford it. next year, they have like 128 million in cap space, so they can definitely do it!

    now cut fuller and logan thomas. that takes you close to $50 mil in cap space. you can keep payne via tag or extend him for 3 years similar to Terry's contract. keep him at 19 mil a year with bonus. get a decent LB (Edmunds,Wagner,David) and also a good CB (peterson, peters) for cheap!,
