  1. Is there a larger point to you asking me these questions? Unofficially the opportunity to learn and model critical thinking skills can occur all throughout life, from parents to peers, to self-teaching through taking on a "pathless road" of figuring things out for yourself and testing your results and analysis in a systematic and progressive way, which would also involve critical peer review. Officially, I'd have to dive deeper into what schools and colleges are currently teaching people and then differentiate them based on whatever streams of data I find and their co-determinant variables. The teaching and application of critical thinking should be pervasive in all walks of life. We have a shared responsibility as a human race to teach ourselves and each other how to develop, exercise, and maintain the capabilities needed for critical thinking. We can talk about degrees of responsibility commensurate to degrees of capability with critical thinking, but no single person or group is either 0% responsible or 100% responsible. Again, we all share responsibility, because we are all effected by the decisions made by humanity to a greater or lesser degree.
  2. What we have now is what happens when a society teaches memorization and regurgitation over critical thinking. Many people can get diplomas from college just doing the former and then go out into the world never doing the latter.
  3. How about we both take a second and compare/contrast the following variables between the flu and covid-19 ? What is the R0 value for each so far or estimated R0 range in Covid-19’s case? What is the estimated fatality rate for Covid versus the flu? What is the timeline for the flu deaths vs the timeline so far for Covid? Hint, One is a much longer time frame than the other because one is still in progress. Then what are the differences in fatality rates per capita in those countries implementing social distancing versus those who are not? Now im not going to make the mistake of doing the work for you. Compare those variable and maybe then you’ll get it.
  4. I hope this finally convinces more people that they are sharing a country with a segment of the population who is perfectly willing to violate every value Americans are supposed to hold dear to hold onto their power. They are cancers, they are valueless, and see us as objects to drain for their own benefit. They all need to be changed, contained, or destroyed. The severity of those options depends on their continued behavior. They will not change themselves, they will not self-regulate or self-restrain. We have to stop them.
  5. I completely agree. We as a human race need to take up as a conscious practice the managing of our emotional and cognitive palate. We need to understand that just like our taste palate can maladapt to prefer **** food over nutritional value, so to can our mind, emotions, and spirit. People accept way too much **** in their life that maladapts their character and spirit. It cheapens and dilutes who they are and people don’t have the humility to understand that the changes are subtle and occur by nature within our blind spots and no one is immune to the change. If we are exposed to it and internalize it in any way, it will effect us. And we don’t have enough of a shared sophistication and level of observational nuance to recognize and properly communicate when a person’s palate is off and what they need to do about it in a way that people will accept and internalize and then act upon. We as a society will have to develop in these ways so that we properly safeguard positions of huge responsibility from sociopaths and others who have just straight diarrhea **** emotional, cognitive, and spiritual palates.
  6. I work in construction and there are certain activities where N95 masks are required so things like silica particles don't get into your lungs. However, I've talked with a couple of the largest commercial suppliers of these masks along the East Coast and they've already allocated the majority of their stock to hospitals and one of them donated some to the Manassas area hospitals.
  7. These are hard as ****. I used to do these too, but for us the jokers meant you had to re-do the last 5 cards you discarded. Our exercises were pull-ups, push-ups, burpies, and I can't remember what the last one was.
  8. Prepare to be shocked then. Shelter in place for all of VA.
  9. I wonder if he'll be making the same stay at home order Hogan just made in MD?
  10. Anyone watching All American on Netflix? It’s a football/drama show based on a true story about a kid from Crenshaw taking his chance on getting to the NFL, starting from high school. Its got great characters with actual integrity and character which is a breath of fresh air from all the other shows that seemed to be filled with weak and petty mother****ers. My wife loves it too,
  11. Problem is people aren't differentiating between normal scrub masks versus industrial N95 masks.
  12. We have a severe problem with character, shared responsibility, and the meaning of community in this country. I've been saying it for a long time, but it's the kind of thing that people only pay lip service too until it's too late. These types of challenges and life-threatening situations are exactly what training to have good character is for.
  13. I feel you. I'm sending emails to my suppliers who have access to warehouses across the nation to see what their doing to help out with hard hit hospitals. If the govt. won't do ****, then we have too.
  14. Are these doctors checking industrial companies and supplier for N95 masks? Drywall guys, concrete, etc all have to use n95 masks to protect against the inhalation of silica and other harmful particles. They should have some to spare to our medical people.
  15. For anyone worried about water issues, I highly recommend a berkey filtration system. https://www.berkeyfilters.com/
  16. Listening to Mark Warner and some doctor. I think they are calling everyone in VA for a phone town hall and Q&A session about COVID-19. Its good to see them doing stuff like this.
  17. @bcl05 Do you have any thoughts on the concern of taking elderberry while having the Coronavirus and the possibility of triggering an overactive immune response and cytokine storm?
  18. Also, people need to be aware that this virus has shown to still be contagious even 13 or so days after recovering from it. https://www.livescience.com/coronavirus-spread-after-recovery.html
  19. People need to watch that youtube video with Michael Osterholm. It is not just an old people virus. It is cutting down people in their 40's as well (in Italy), especially if they smoke or are obese.
