  1. The switch to Biden's policies, which for the border the Republican Fascists refuse to sit with him to work something humane out, was right on cue.
  2. Yes, I saw on Maddow's interview that the younger lawyer (can't remember her name) said the same, which I found interesting. Playing to the wretch who's paying her. I hope Habba's retainer was worth it because she won't get another dime from her client since she lost.
  3. Because the 14th Amendment Section 3 is a disqualification all by itself, just like age and citizenship are qualifications. No need for a trial when we saw it all happen over the months leading up to election day, every day since election day, especially the armed insurrection on Jan 6 when Trump knew and encouraged armed persons in his speech prior to the march to the Capitol, and every day since Jan 6 including his present election campaign. He hasn't stopped so every effort to keep him off of ballots is justified by his past and ongoing campaign to be a dictator. Open your ****ing eyes and ears! Geez!
  4. I'm betting that some of Trump's minions are just like my description, so Junior would fit right in. It's not what I want for my granddaughter.
  5. She's obviously not qualified to handle an appeal. 1. No experience, and 2. no temperament for elevated courtroom behavior due to temperament in district court.
  6. From the link: https://www.carltonfields.com/insights/appellate-issues-litigation/2017/taking-a-toll-the-effect-of-post-judgment-motions Counsel contemplating an appeal often depend on the “tolling” effect of authorized post-judgment motions, which can extend an otherwise-applicable appeal deadline. In particular, in most federal civil cases, the appellant has 30 days from the rendition of the applicable final order or judgment in which to file its notice of appeal; see Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 4(a)(1)(A), but Rule 4(a)(4)(A)(i)-(vi) also provides that the following authorized post-judgment motions, if filed within 28 days of the entry of that final order or judgment, extend the time in which to appeal until 30 days from the date on which the district court rules on the last such remaining motion: [list of motions]
  7. Without Trump being his father, I can see Junior as sitting on the deck of a rundown mobile home in a rundown mobile home park drinking beer and smoking crack (because he's too poor to afford powder coke). He's pathetic as is.
  8. I hope Attorney Kaplan sues Habba through the roof!
  9. I thought "colluded" wasn't in the Republican lexicon? I find this whole GQP kurfluffable absolutely hilarious!
  10. Rules are rules, regardless of who's breaking them.
  11. Take a pill, Robert, get out of the race, and stop trying to be relevant. Even your siblings and other relatives are tired of your efforts.
  12. That was a good interview by Maddow. The lawyers said that when actually in the courtroom, Trump finally figured out that he had to tone it down and everyone else realized he's just a guy, to use a football term. That without the rallies, his minions (not their word, mine), and the press he's basically without an audience. And this was a federal court. Speaking of televising the Jan 6 trial in DC federal court controlled by Judge Chutkan, I'm thinking that an audio broadcast may be a better solution so the public can at least hear what's happening in court. If there's no video, Trump won't have a forum to act out because it's a criminal trial and he has to appear. If there's audio, Chutkan can shut him up with penalties for speaking unless he's actually testifying. I want to hear what's going on.
  13. This is the issue I have with interviewers: instead of following up and asking questions like this, they let the real facts sort of fade out. These politicians need to be completely called out so voters know what they do.
  14. This early address by Lincoln was quoted in Heather Cox Richardson's Letter From An American today. It describes what can happen if a person or persons persists in tearing down the rule of law as laid out by the Constitution. I copied the link for the entire address and copy it here. It's brilliant. https://www.abrahamlincolnonline.org/lincoln/speeches/lyceum.htm From the speech. The question recurs, "how shall we fortify against it?" The answer is simple. Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well wisher to his posterity, swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular, the laws of the country; and never to tolerate their violation by others. As the patriots of seventy-six did to the support of the Declaration of Independence, so to the support of the Constitution and Laws, let every American pledge his life, his property, and his sacred honor;--let every man remember that to violate the law, is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the character of his own, and his children's liberty. Let reverence for the laws, be breathed by every American mother, to the lisping babe, that prattles on her lap--let it be taught in schools, in seminaries, and in colleges; let it be written in Primers, spelling books, and in Almanacs;--let it be preached from the pulpit, proclaimed in legislative halls, and enforced in courts of justice. And, in short, let it become the political religion of the nation; and let the old and the young, the rich and the poor, the grave and the gay, of all sexes and tongues, and colors and conditions, sacrifice unceasingly upon its altars. While ever a state of feeling, such as this, shall universally, or even, very generally prevail throughout the nation, vain will be every effort, and fruitless every attempt, to subvert our national freedom.
  15. Haley still waffles on abortion. Well, weasel word is the correct term. She's delusional thinking that the independents voting for her now will vote for her in the general election. They're voting for her now to get rid of Trump. They'll vote for Biden in the general to get rid of Republicans.
  16. The $5 million is from another trial, not this one. He's already appealing that judgment and put up $5 million bond. So the two trials together are $88.3 million. It was permitted in this trial that the jury could consider the previous judgment because Trump didn't stop defaming.
  17. Verdict is in, waiting for specifics: 1. Did he defame? Y $7.3 m $11 m reputation repair 2. Did Trump act with malice? YY to both dates $65 m punitive damages $83.3m. Total Has to post bond to appeal like with the $5 million judgment.
  18. Trump's sentence should have stopped after "myself". That's all he really cares about. The rest is pandering.
  19. If he wasn't such a ****, I'd feel sorry for him. As it is, he looks so out of it. And the makeup is absurd.
  20. Her weasel wording of women's bodily autonomy and the rest of her more money for the wealthy. and corporations policies still makes her a Fascist.
  21. Junior is hoping it's himself, you know the monarchy thing. Bet he gets married before the election to gin up some interest. He's knumbskull like his younger brother. The only one with real brains is Ivanka and she's eclipsed by her hubby and if Daddy's gone, she's toast.
  22. Tonight's dinner was chicken paprikash. Easy prep and let it cook on the stove for a couple of hours. Roasted some cut potatoes in oil and salt and pepper. I have two more servings left. Used three boneless skinless thighs. I might freeze one, I'll decide tomorrow. Tomorrow might be kielbasa, pierogies, cabbage (slaw, already cut), onion, and maybe sliced apples. Sheet pan dinner.
