  1. Yeah they are booked. In fact it seems all but one b&b is booked despite them all reopening on July first. Guess I missed it by a week…. The one that isn’t booked required me to email them. I’m assuming they’re booked too. Hence airbnb’ing it.
  2. Wife and I are leaving Friday coming back Sunday. Anniversary weekend. In about four weeks. I’ve been through Charlottesville, stopping to do things and even stay the night at a hotel, but never gone there just to see the city. is the Uber situation normal for a city that size? Shouldn’t have any problems right? we’re definitely dedicating time to winery hopping. Any recommendations are appreciated. Wife actually has an excellent pallet so while a place with excellent wine is wasted on my garbage tastebuds, she will appreciate it. there may be time for breweries, same applies, just low priority depending on what else fills out. looking at getting an Airbnb - any recommendations eg: stay in this area to be near the good bars, stay away from here, this area has cool ‘in the mountains’ spots, etc. spa/message suggestions dining suggestions. Anything with meaning to the city is cool, otherwise nice places of any type of food. bar/club suggestions any sort of theater/performance thing to check out and then any ‘find time to check this out’ stuff. We’re the type that’s constantly on the move and trying to cram as much in. Well, she is, I just always lose the argument over the plans. Any help with this is much appreciated
  3. PSA: after the last 5 years this is the only way to view gop talking heads its just happened entirely too many times.
  4. Well, it is the college of fine arts. Not the whole university
  5. Yeah you’re over watering. Or he is. the roots get majority of the nutrients. But they also take in a ton of oxygen. If you over water they can’t take in oxygen. If you over water over a period of time you can cause root rot. Since overwatering is a number one problem for first time people, here’s a better rule of thumb than determining if the soil is too dry (since that’s not working for you): if the soil starts to ‘separate’ from the sides of the container give it some water. It actually means you’re probably just under watering it. But slightly under watering is better than overwatering. And if you start that way at least you’ll let it dry out, and over time you’ll figure out how to water it just enough it isn’t quite separating but you’re not overwatering Your pots have holes in the bottom? Or are you using one of the fabric pots or something? Gotta let it drain
  6. If you can get one of these licenses when they’re announced…. It’s going to be a huge industry.
  7. https://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/leaf-problems-marijuana-plants/ read through that. Ph can change. The plant is pulling things out of the soil and you’re adding them when you water. Ph has to be constantly monitored but it could be over/under watering (most time it’s over watering not under…)
  8. Well, as I was joking with my friends this morning…. we’re all celebrating by packing up and heading out do town for a week on the lake together blowing **** up…. In a state where it’s still illegal…… Virginia won’t really be ‘there’ until Jan 1 2024 anyways. For some reason we need 3 years to spin up the industry. 🙄
  9. What the **** this is a stupid rule for getting a license this is in addition to posting a note on the front of the building sayin your applying for a license.
  10. Wtf is going on with all these technicals
  11. That said there are ones out there that are overpriced. you gotta look up the components. carbon filter, fans (specifically noise level), light… shop around and compare components. It won’t take long for you to figure out what’s what. Amazon has a bunch 450-600 but the lights are garbage and the reviews say the fans are loud. The link to kits in the guide I sent is legit. And led lights that’s rated top 5 in all lights in the industry. It’s an 850-1000$ light. Plus you need a 140$ controller. And it’s got a supposedly very quiet fan. And the whole kit is 1100 (not including controller). If you grow 4 at a time and get 10 oz’s each (should get 16-22 on average if you’re doing a good job), your first cycle will produce 160 quarters. At street price you’ve paid for the equipment about 10x over. also when you’re looking at lights…. There’s a lot of opinions out there, just make sure your factoring in lifespan and such. A 300 non led light might be cheaper except the 800 led light has a 5 year warranty and your cheaper one needs to be replaced every 9 months on average. Also the led lights usually cool themselves and the other options (usually cheaper than led) will create a heat problem you need to manage (with additional equipment)
  12. So if you break it down it’s basically a tent with pre-fitted venting/cabling inlet/outlets, complete with flanges for a good deal, wrapped around 1/2” or maybe 3/4” pvc pipe. And the interior is reflective to help with amateur light investment. the tents go for about ~200. Could you build your own for less? Of course. Is it worth it if it’s your first time. I don’t think so. the rest of the price is the light. And the light is important. You can get a 450$ kit with a 200$ light or an 1100$ kit with a 900$ light. It’s basically the same kit. With a better light. and some of the cheaper ones have cheaper fans that make tons of noise. they seem appropriately priced when you break them down by components and what you’re getting, and factoring in buying everything that’s designed to work together vs piecemeal assembly to save here and there. a solid kit from a reputable place is not a bad option all things considered if you’re trying to use it in a small space as a new person to it and ultimately are just trying grow some plants for yourself and your buddies its basically what large scale operations are doing except they built/engineer it themselves to fit their needs and space.
  13. Also I was thinking if you went to the seed sharing, you’d likely wind up meeting someone who lives near you that you can get some weed from… Just stay away from the old people. They’re only there to find someone to get weed from
  14. Nope. Privately making concentrate is illegal https://www.cannabis.virginia.gov/ so you have to wait until you can buy it from a licensed person and we don’t know what those rules are because the people responsible for making them aren’t allowed to start working on it until tomorrow. This is very much illegal like I said earlier. Virginia will only allow sales through licensed sellers.
  15. There you go. im sure there will be a way to figure it out if you find people selling kits that’s fine just be mindful of the light
  16. 4 plants. https://www.cannabis.virginia.gov/ figure 3-4 months a cycle. 12-16 plants a year. Guess 10 oz a plant cause you all apparently know nothing so we’ll be super conservative. 40 oz’s a cycle. (16oz = 1 lbs btw) 120-160 oz’s a year. That’s 7.5-10 lbs a year. That’s a lot of weed if you’re not selling it. Even if you smoke all day every day, that’s a lot of weed. the biggest issue is variety honestly but there will be dispensaries in 2024 So yeah if you find someone growing it, odds are they can help you out. Unless they’re selling it then they’re not doing it legally anyways. and if you have the ability (keep from kids, space (closet will work), etc) it’s not hard and even you guys should be able to put out a couple lbs of it a year
  17. @Springfield also go sign up for the seed sharing program. It’s on July first. Find the closest one. I’m willing to bet you can go and find someone, that lives near you, that can help you out
  18. This is the language. It’s under two categories what’s legal what’s illegal Source: https://www.cannabis.virginia.gov/ Growing is easy. You can invest a wide range of money into it. @Springfield start here: https://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/guides/?_ga=2.111182787.650810823.1625097152-1941041598.1624582454 if you don’t want to grow find someone who does It’s not that hard Ps - if you go for a kit don’t skimp on the light get a good light. And consider lifespan vs upfront cost vs electricity. The ones that cost more up front cost less over time.
  19. Cool. glad you publicly supported him but privately hid upstairs to avoid the crazy person (in charge of the entire country) that was too lazy to climb stairs Awesome job you did.
  20. Honestly the vibe km getting is you’re the one that needs to chill out 😂 im being very matter of fact because of the way you’re posting. I was simply trying to correct that one piece of information and somehow you got some thought that I have a problem with masks. go back and reread it. I was just calling attention to one point. That’s all. Not trying to make a big deal out of it. I actually was curious if something had changed or I misunderstood. Wasn’t trying to make it a conflict 🍻
  21. I do not think it is a big deal to wear a mask. I don’t have a problem with it. I do think it’s a big deal to spread incorrect information. I’m open to the idea that I’m wrong here, but what I’ve been made aware of is what I said; and not what you said. I don’t have a problem if you decide to wear a mask. I do have a problem with you telling people that their vaccine doesn’t help against variants when (as far as I’m aware) all information suggests it does, with the exception of those of us that got J&J and we should know more in 1.5-2 weeks when the cdc has had time to collect and review the data and make a statement on it.
  22. @PleaseBlitz yeah I understand that where I’m confused is what business a prosecutor has making “deals” involving civil suites. I do not understand how a prosecutor can deny a criminal case citing a civil case unless that was in the best interest of the victim, and I would think at the request of the victim I realize they can do whatever they want or whatever, I’m just having a hard time understanding why that’s proper but I’m apparently very confused on it. Including whether that was actually a deal or not. I just don’t recall anyone ever getting off of a criminal charge because the prosecutor thinks there might be more value in a civil suite. What if it doesn’t get filed? What if she drops it? How is that decision made without consulting the victim? How is that proper use of authority? Just doesn’t seem right to me.
  23. you said “there are variants (new strains) to the virus that the vaccine you got does not block” so no, not additional information. Conflicting information. I added the booster piece because it’s part of what I understand. This does not match the information I have.
