  1. His decision making on the field looks like inspired genius compared to that choice.
  2. And don't forget Booker T vs Kurt Angle, where Kurt wanted to have Beastiality Sex with Sharmell. Oh it's true, it's damn true. Ah, good old Heidenrape
  3. Watching that Hendo fight, all I could think of was that line from Sin City and how well it'd fit him... "He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swinging an axe into somebody's face. Or in a Roman arena, taking his sword to other gladiators like him."
  4. Really enjoyed it. Random thoughts They did a great job handling so many characters. Spiderman and Panther were both great and make me hungry for their own movies. Antman was perfect. That look from Falcon and Bucky was just on point. It felt natural for Stark and yet Sooooo 180 from him in the first two movies, which is a good accomplishment. Tony's ego mixed with self pity is a nasty combination. My favorite speech from the comics was introduced in a way that made sense, but saddened me that it didn't feel as it if had nearly the same impact and memorability. That's one character who's rack I never expected to think was nice.....
  5. You enjoy Kornheiser and cheer the return of Andy in the afternoons, and think Danny and Grant are terrible. I can see why some think two sports stations are needed. We are very, very different listeners it seems. Kornheiser's show would be the format I'd enjoy, if he wasn't an annoying geezer who talks about crap I don't give a crap about at all, often in the most annoying and whiny voice possible. The only thing I disliked more than listening to his show was listening to UnWise Mike's hateful horrible impersonation of his show. If someone like Dukes, Danny, or Grant had the ability to have the same format as Kornheiser (in terms of freedom to spend very little time on sports) I'd likely love it. But I'm apparently way out of Tony's demo.
  6. I know it's unlikely but...please do hot talk. Please do hot talk. Please do hot talk. I don't need another random music station. I definitely don't need another "news" or political station. And one local + a few national sports stations absolutely is fine. Give me a talker that we don't really have in the area anymore. Won't happen, because the format is pretty much dead on terrestrial, but a guy can dream.
  7. I apologize. I turned the game on and golden state immediately went on a run
  8. Actually, I think this was two fold. Hugh Jackman's "starpower" as a part of it; but WOLVERINES starpower was as much, if not likely more, of a factor. To casual fans, Wolverine is a much bigger draw than Kitty Pride. And a much more enticing person to follow throughout the movie as kind of the primary "vehicle" for what's happening in the past. Not saying it wouldn't have still been Hugh if he was playing Morph or Beast or something, but I think you're overselling how much of it really was Jackman's starpower and how much it's the fact that the wolverine character has been pretty much the star character for the x-men franchise on film. Which frankly, isn't too far off from the comics. And I think that's what irks me a bit. If Lawrence was Jean or Rogue (which I recognize, would not have actually worked in the continuity of the "Decades" [60s FC -70s DOFP -80s AOP] universe), her being so much in the lead wouldn't feel so forced quite as much. But as it is, she's a character that is routinely trying to be thrust into a heroic role that just doesn't fit well with the expectations for that hero given its history.
  9. So only real "new" thing I see there is the Hawkeye/Widow interaction
  10. I like the trade. I'm not a huge fan of giving up that first, but I can understand it. A Morris trade was actually something I was hoping for before the start of the season, as I think he'll be a good fit. He's a knucklehead, but it really seems like it was exacerbated by the situation in Phoenix regarding the contract he took followed by them dealing his twin. It's a high risk, high reward type of move. If he plays to the caliber he's shown previously, he provides that stretch 4 that this offense needs. He's a starter quality talent that's signed for 3 years at a very team friendly price. Yes, it can go down in flames, but I think the potential benefits are worth the gamble.
  11. Old Marvel Comics Axiom: Nobody stays dead except for Bucky, Jason Todd, and Uncle Ben.
  12. I want America the Melting Pot, not America the "BIG SALAD". In a melting pot, disparate parts get added in and meld into the overall substance. Hints of the items individual tastes and texture may be found within the final product, but the item is inseparable from the whole. The new ingredients help to bring a new taste or twist to the dish, but ultimately become PART of the dish. That's the American immigration style I like, that's the melting pot, that's assimilation. It's people coming to America to be American. Some of their old culture likely stays with them and over time gets assimilated into the overall American culture, but first and foremost they are American and seek to live and embrace that. Immigration into this country should not simply be a change in one's home, but a change in their lifestyle and mentality. In a BIG SALAD, the various parts simply get added on top of each other. You can have a bite of lettuce with some ranch and some peppers; or if you wanted you could just have the peppers. You could eat the salad with the tomato, or you could remove the tomato entirely. Everything is disjointed except for the fact that they're all present on the plate. Some things may compliment the tastes or textures of each other, but ultimately you recognize you're eating a number of different things on top of each other. This is more along the lines of a multi-cultural style of immigration. One where, rather than assimilating into the host culture, individuals are encouraged to maintain their ethnic identity first and foremost and to celebrate it. Where the country that is being entered is simply a host, simply a location that one is now living, rather than a new lifestyle or culture to embrace as your own. To live and work in one country, but to continue to primarily associate with those of your old country, speak the language of your old country, celebrate the holidays and events of your old country, enjoy the entertainment of your old country, and even continue to identify primarily or equally with your old country. I don't think the later style of immigration should be barred from occurring in the US, but it's the style that I believe should be discouraged and in which our laws should not be set up to promote. I believe that immigration can and does strengthen the US, but primarily through assimilation. In a sense, I'm of a similar mind to Teddy...
  13. Rousey bought a bit too much into her own hype. Does not have the stand up game for someone like a Holm, clearly. Wow, that was a beat down and she looked like she was toying with her in the second round. All made that much more striking with Rouseys antics at weigh ins and match start
  14. It's strange that the oft misstated Ben Franklin quote that was everywhere on the internet during the early WOT days somehow never shows up from many of those same people when it comes to gun control. I have no problem with closing the gun show loophole and actually enforcing existing laws. But much of the suggestions beyond that...especially opening the floodgates for mass orchestrated frivolous lawsuits against manufacturers...I'm generally against. What's more bothersome to me is that so many people don't actually seem to give a damn about the killings or the shootings but rather simply use them to push their political agenda. Why do I say that? Because the response is always the same; gun control, now! There's rarely a reasoned look as to whether their proposed control would actually have affected the shooting. There's rarely a reasoned look as to what actually may be contributing to the supposed rise in mass shootings. It's just "OOO! Dead bodies. GUN CONTROL GUN CONTROLL GUN CONTROLL". Never let that crisis go to waste and all.
  15. So basically if the likely absolute best case scenario for all three players come to fruition, Durant may not be useful. I don't really know if I'd be willing to take that bet.
  16. Reports are that Atlanta may need to make more moves to get some cap relief. I'd still absolutely love to get Mike Muscala
  17. There's been periods of good commentary. I actually liked JBL's first stint; felt like a call back to the traditional old "heel" announcers like Heenan or even early King. Punk when he was rehabbing was EXCELLENT on commentary. Early days of heel Cole weren't bad though that got horrible with how long it drug out. One good thing about NXT is it actually provides a place to potentially "develop" announcers as well. Oh speaking of NXT SAMOA F'N JOE So glad to have him in the fold. Looked the best he's looked in years as well.
  18. I came away a bit impressed by his range and size from the Atlanta season. Don't think he's poised to be a star or anything. But he strikes me as a low risk guy to roll the dice on. If you're going to gamble, I'd rather gamble with youth. Nene is likely not going anywhere till the trade deadline AT LEAST, and Humphries is here, so it's not like we absolutely have to rely on him being a starter. But sell him on the notion he'll get the oppertunity and the potential chance to showcase himself. If he'd demand less than Booker, all the better. We'd probably want to hope Atlanta flames out in the conference finals and he doesn't raise his profile all too much. I kind of like him as an option
  19. So from an admittedly novice guy in terms of how much NBA I watch and how well I understand the stretch 4 notion, here's a thought.... Mike Muscala is on that list of Free Agents. Young guy who was mostly a bench player and likely to remain such for Atlanta, so probably won't command crazy money I'd think? - The past two years he was pulling down 12 rebounds per 100 possessions. Compare that to Nene who's pulling down 10 per. - This year he was a 40% shooter from the three, and we saw this post season he can hit them. Also a 55% shooter from the field. - Add in two blocks per 100 (again, an upgrade on Nene) thanks to that large 6'11" frame. Tell him you'll give him the chance to compete for a starting spot next year; something he's just not going to get in Atlanta if they keep Milsap. If you can get him on a relatively friendly or low risk contract, it could be a win. If he works out, awesome...you've got a nice young player. If he doesn't work out, he's probably still solid depth with a contract that'd hopefully not kill you. Would something comparable to what Utah gave Trevor Booker...two years, $9.7 Mil...be reasonable? And would it be low enough not to negatively impact the ability to land Durant next year?
  20. So, NBA-niks...here's the question. Looking at the potential free agent crop, who would be a worth while target...if any...for a potential starting stretch 4? OR Is there no reasonable starting quality 4 on the market that we can get on a deal that would not hinder the potential chase for Kevin Durant? Are we basically stuck drafting and picking up a "depth" or "veteran" guy at the 4 to rotate with Nene this year because we can't get into any long term deal if we want to chase Durant? ----- Aslo, a hypothetical... You put out feelers and are pretty certain that it's less than a 50% shot that Durant comes here next year. On the flip side, you're confident you can get Kevin Love to come here on a max contract this year. Do you pass on Love and hope for Durant, or do you take the definite signing of Love this year over the potential of Durant next year?
  21. Being Randy and not having Wall and the team playing big to cover it up
