Unforgiven

That's the frustrating thing about boxing, it's all a matter of opinion. I had it 4-2 the other way but would feel comfortable saying it was 3-3. It was just a close fight and I feel bad for JMM because Beristain insisted he had it wrapped up and you could see JMM ease up the final 2-3 rounds and it cost him. If Beristain hadn't done that and JMM didn't slow up....I'd be jumping up and down yelling that he got robbed right now.

Also, the 116-112 judge needs to be kept away from title fights. I just read he had Manny up by 5 rounds before the 12th (the other 2 judges had JMM by 1 and Manny by 1 at that point).

If you honestly think that, you shouldn't watch boxing anymore. Apart from a 116-112 card, you're not going to hear the majority of boxing analyst really complaining over this. The 116-112 was a bit silly, just like saying JMM won by 3-4 rounds. The same one the commentators and judges were watching. They were right...sorry. Yeah, I agree it was close. JMM landed some good shots, but he was less active and less accurate. I think if Beristain had told him "you're behind, you need to knock him out" and he went out and threw like he wanted to finish the fight the final 3 rounds, he would have won.

It was an accurate score....I don't know how you guys score fights but if one guy controls the ring and lands more at a higher percentage...he wins. Just because JMM made it closer than oddsmakers had him doesn't mean he wins by default..

I'm giving it to Manny. It's close... Nacho Beristain did JMM a disservice by telling him he was winning the final 3-4 rounds. Even if you think it's true you had to realize it was close....terrible move on his part.

I *HATE HATE HATE* when trainers tell their fighters they are winning and it's not close. Unless it's just horribly one sided you shouldn't do that.

This. Also, a lot of these rounds are close, only a couple have been clearly one way or another.

It's MMA, it just takes one shot. The thing is though...I'd say that result we saw tonight is a 9 times out of 10 type of situation. I don't want to disrespect Cain, but he beat Big Nog after he was on the decline and Lesnar....who has no striking ability or defense. Apart from that he hasn't done much but win a decision over Cheick Kongo. He never had to face anyone with striking ability or take down defense like JDS.

That's the hard part about this, it was the first event so while MMA fans would have loved to see the other fight....you can't just go into it cold with a bunch of people who would have no clue who those guys are. They had to spend time setting up the main event... Obviously I'm sure they wish the fight would have maybe made it to the second round then the finish, but it was an exciting 64 seconds...

JDS striking is too much for any other heavyweight I think. Lesnar has no chance against him. I'd rather see Alistair get a shot..

Diaz is a very good fighter, just seems like a total dick though.
