  1. Your opinion is invalid due to the fact you don't view the board with 40 post per page on. In reality this thread is only on page 431.
  2. Dana tweeted the bonuses : Sub of the Night Oliveira, KO Lavar Johnson, FON Dunham vs. Lentz. Each guy gets $65k. Congrats guys!
  3. It's still going on, but I have to say that I don't think this UFC event did anything to help draw in casual fans like they've been wanting. They almost need a Hendo/Shogun type fight to really grab the casual viewer, but sadly those kind of fights don't go down every other week.
  4. I want Rashad to beat Jones. I just didn't like how it played out before when they were going to get matched up and Jones claimed he needed surgery, then Evans takes another fight and right after that Jones comes back with "ohhh nevermind, I'm fine, find me a new fight!" That seemed waaaaay too much like he was ducking him.
  5. C'mon Rashad....I'm pulling for ya! (I'm probably the only one...hah)
  6. I don't remember all the details, but didn't Chael actually fail his post-fight drug test after fighting Silva at ufc 117? I can't remember whatever came of that.
  7. Yeah, Chael did dominate Silva for 4 1/2 rounds. I'm actually going to be rooting for Chael just to shake things up against Silva, but I'm afraid it won't go that way a second time.
  8. I'm ok with the decision, but they need to take a look at whichever judge scored it 30-27. Also, I would think Dana White would get annoyed with Chael...who seems to think he's a classic WWF star. Aren't they trying to put as much distance between the UFC and Pro-Wrestling as possible?
  9. Well, this is a disappointment. I'm just curious, I know Bob Arum has said a lot of random things people view as excuses or whatever but what demands has Manny himself made of this fight? The only thing that comes to mind is a simple 50/50 split. It seems like Mayweather tends to make all the demands with blood testing and him getting a bigger purse (really? 50/50 isn't good enough for you? It would still be your biggest payday ever you greedy douche) and I'm sure if they ever got to the details he would have demands on glove weight and ring size (In fairness I think both would probably have an opinion on it). I know it's no one persons fault but this is just ridiculous at this point. That's my problem with boxing...there are too many details that are in control of fighters, if everything isn't just how they want it then they take their toys and go home.
  10. Pretty much, funny since some people on here mocked me for bringing up delaying (to late May) the fight to build the temp stadium for a bigger gate. They seemed to think Mayweather was doing this for the fans and the sport, obviously he's not. He's so fake it's laughable.
  11. I"m shocked... It was really obvious he would try it. Other than the De La Hoya fight, if you look at their ppv numbers over the past few years they're pretty close. It's just another thing for Mayweather to talk about.
  12. Yeah, if the Mayweather fight falls through (at this point that's what I'm expecting) then I'm with you....Bradley or Peterson would be more intriguing to me. I have don't have a lot of interest in seeing Cotto again, but even less in another JMM fight. I guess Cotto has risen back up the ranks a bit since he got his revenge fight over Margarito.
  13. Roach pushing hard for Pac-Mayweather - http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/7458704/freddie-roach-pushing-hard-manny-pacquiao-floyd-mayweather-fight I know different people will take different things from the article, but I posted it mainly because of the end. I'm glad to see someone in Manny's corner calling out Bob Arum, who is responsible for the flood of "excuses" out there. This part mainly : Ultimately, Roach said, there have been too many excuses on both sides. He said the reason this fight has been hung up for so long comes down to the animosity between Arum and Mayweather's adviser, Al Haymon, and Golden Boy, the promoter Mayweather works with. "It's ridiculous that two grown men can't do business together," Roach said of Arum and Haymon. "It's like they both want to take their ball and go home. F---- it, it's business. They just need to drop the issues they have with each other and negotiate. This is not personal, this is business. Golden Boy is part of that equation, too. "People are starting to go the other way and not care about this fight because it's taking so damn long to make it. You've got to do it soon. I think it's at its peak. It's definitely time."
  14. I guess if you guys just want to ignore what Manny himself said and simply quote crazy ass Bob Arum... Manny himself said "“There is a possibility of fighting Mayweather in May and I’ll discuss what is best for us to do…[the cut is] fine and there’s no problem.”" ---------- Post added January-12th-2012 at 10:56 PM ---------- You guys crack me up by the way, everyone knows if Manny had come back with "Yeah, May 5th is fine, 50/50 split, cya there" that Mayweather would have started ****ing about the money saying he wants it 60/40 his way. He's already tried this before... Both sides are guilty in this, no one with any common sense can look at this and think Mayweather is real and straight up... ---------- Post added January-12th-2012 at 11:07 PM ---------- At this point, this argument isn't really going anywhere. Both sides have their own views in it. If Manny's people say they wont fight before June, then I'll gladly acknowledge the blame is on them. If they put up a May date and Mayweather has an issue, it's on him. If they get it worked out, great.
  15. I'm going to just assume reading comprehension isn't' a requirement for Mayweather fan boys. Tired of explaining he's agreed to the blood testing and said the cut is fine.
  16. He's said multiple times the cut is fine...multiple times. You and Stephen A. Smith must share the same ridiculous talking points. The reason they want to push it back toward the end of May is to make 40+ million more at the gate. I'm tired of pointing this out since you either ignore it or get mad that it's brought up, but the reason 3 weeks matters so much for Mayweather is that he is going to jail. If he were a normal responsible adult about his personal life this wouldn't be an issue. I'm not sure why you seem to think his failure to act right is now Manny's problem.
  17. Right, I'll wait and see what the next response is. If he offers to take the fight toward the end of May when both fighters can be available then he'll look fine to me, but if he tries to say not before June 9th or whatever then I'll drop the blame on him. The only thing so far is that they won't accept May 5th. He can't be condemned for not fighting exactly on May 5th just because that's what Mayweather dictated and already had himself scheduled for. ---------- Post added January-12th-2012 at 04:02 PM ---------- Also, the world doesn't revolve around Mayweather's personal life and the fact he got himself in trouble and has to go to jail on June 1st. There is no reason he can't fight a week before he reports to serve his time, he doesn't need a 3+ week cushion there.
  18. It's a business. I'm sure you noticed a while back that Manny stays out of the fight picking portion of his career for the most part, he lets his trainers and business managers line up people for him. No business manager in the world is going to suggest taking X Million on May 5th when you could get an additional possibly 20 million more than that just three weeks later. I realize a lot of people are going to say he should step up and take charge and say it doesn't matter and he'll fight on the 5th, but keep in mind he trust the people that handle these things. You have a guy that was basically homeless at one point that is now one of the richest and most successful fighters of his generation, obviously the people around him have done their job well, no reason for him to second guess them now. While I think he's annoyed at Mayweather and his people and the way they've accused him of cheating and being scared and all that, it doesn't rule his life.
  19. I wouldn't say a great chance... I'm figuring Mayweather will be the betting favorite for sure though. Honestly Mayweather has more to lose in this than Manny, because his entire reputation is built on being undefeated. If Manny loses it'll just be him getting outpointed by Mayweather in a fight he wasn't even favored in anyways.
  20. I understand he got lost in the mix, and there are guys with styles that are just unappealing to other fighters. Just keep in mind that Morales had beaten Manny earlier in the year, so a rematch for those two was inevitable and a fairly big ticket fight. That fight was pretty much set in stone before Raheem ever beat Morales. Raheem then lost his next fight and fell from the ranks, so it was partially his own fault for failing to maintain his status. I give him credit for beating Morales but it's not like he was a top contender, he was a warmup fight that needed more than 1 big victory to stand atop the division and demand big name fights.
  21. In fairness, Raheem beat Morales and then was never heard from again basically. Did he deserves a shot at Manny after beating Morales? Maybe so, though he didn't have any other real names on his resume. He wasn't much of a name though and wouldn't have been a draw like Manny vs. Morales, even after Morales lost to Raheem. If Raheem had gone on to win couple more notable fights the case for him being ducked would be much stronger. Edit : Raheem lost his next fight to Acelino Freitas, killing any shot he had with Manny.
  22. Good Lord, if all we're doing now is linking random homemade videos to prove a point... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBRpJKx4F2Q "Manny Pacquiao, yes you're next!" shortly after that... "I never said that! I never said that at all!"
  23. I'm sorry, but put Mayweather in front of a camera and he'll say anything, it's his personality. It's a big difference between sitting around drinking with friends, one of whom has a camera, and actually sitting down and hammering out details to get a fight made. Manny was pushing him to fight years ago and all you heard was "blood test this" and "blood test that" and Mayweather going on and on about the only way he could win all those belts was to cheat. Then he gets called out on it and shuts up and moves on to his latest thing. Like I said, May 5th was his scheduled date for months....someone asks him about Manny and of course he starts talking. Talk is all Mayweather does, talk talk talk talk.
